My Rule for Life

I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is.

Let's all take a deep breath and relax.

Debate has been hot and heavy regarding the Congresses proposed health care reform. Let's all take a deep breath and relax with a little funny I am sure both sides can enjoy. We shall take up heated discussion next week.

Have a great weekend!

Subject: The Proposed US Healthcare Plan

The American Medical Association has weighed in on the new healthcare plan.

The Allergists voted to scratch it, but the Dermatologists advised not to
make any rash moves. The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling
about it, but the Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of
nerve.

The Obstetricians felt they were all laboring under a misconception.
Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted. Pathologists yelled,
"Over my dead body!" while the Pediatricians said, 'Oh, Grow up!'

The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while the
Radiologists could see right through it. Surgeons decided to wash their
hands of the whole thing. The Internists thought it was a bitter pill to
swallow, and the Plastic Surgeons said, "This puts a whole new face on the
matter."

The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the Urologists were
pissed off at the whole idea. The Anesthesiologists thought the whole idea
was a gas, and the Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say no.

In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to
the assholes in Washington.

Ah yes, back to the drudgery of debating the current President and his lack of knowledge regarding fiscal budgetary management of the UNITED STATES economy.

A very interesting article. You need to carry it on step further. Who is/are the Urban Institute? Who runs the Urban Institute? CEO of the Urban Institute is Robert Reischauer. He recently as January 2009 signed off on a memo to President Obama. He and 11 other scholars authored on how to avoid fiscal meltdown the President's current budget and new bills is and will cause.

President Obama has failed again to listen and follow advisers that know far more about the economics of the United States than he has.

A trap he has fallen into several times in his first 8 months in office.

I will say it was an interesting article. I just like to investigate a little deeper.

Very interesting article. Now I know what you do between appointments: SURFS UP!!!

All kidding aside, it was a good article from a used to be insider. I firmly believe no one wants anybody to do with out health care. For me that would be against my beliefs and morals. What I don't want is to pay for some schmuck that won't get a job or keep a job to help himself and help pay for his/her own insurance.

What I don't want is another Medicare/Medicaid entitlement! In my previous life I worked for the government investigating fraud at the Department of Jobs and Family Service. It is an abomination! My sister in another state also investigates fraud for the government (she wants to be just like little brother) without discussing specifics I cannot tell you of the millions of dollars of fraud we have discovered. Guess what only a very small portion is ever paid back. Why? Ask your local politician!

IMHO regardless of what bomb the President dropped last week I don't want the government running my or any health care plan like the government runs the USPS. Give me Fed Ex or UPS any day. I will take my chances with quality not a government bureaucracy.

It can be done but not the way this bill is written.

Yes there is a lot of fraud in Mediaid and Medicare. The solution to that is to provide incentives to whistleblowers.

Elizabeth,

Agreed. Unfortunately it has been my experience that the "higher ups" don't wish to deal with the fraud. Many of those illegally collecting benefits are their voters.

I say let's get some fresh blood in congress and the White House, I know you disagree with that. Sen. Robert Byrd is still serving. I say him on the tube the other day and with all due respect, I don't think he had a clue what was going on. How about some term limits.

Lutheran Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Destruction of the embryo in the mother's womb is a violation of the right to live which God has bestowed upon this nascent life. To raise the question whether we are here concerned already with a human being or not is merely to confuse the issue. The simple fact is that God certainly intended to create a human being and that this nascent human being has been deliberately deprived of his life. And that is nothing but murder.
