My Rule for Life

I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is.

Kristallnacht, Is Ours Coming?

A little background first.  When stationed in Germany, before "the wall" came down, I read a book called the "Rise and Fall of the Third Reich".  The horrors of that book and how easily an entire country was taken over has stayed with me for 40+ years. In my blogging and emails and conversations with others of the public it appears that Kristallnacht and  what  came with it have been forgotten by our public schooled liberal and Conservative adults.  I along with MRG, of the blog, LET THE TRUTH BE KNOWN agreed this story should be told.  The research and writing  was done by the Monsignor and the idea of him doing most of the research and writing was done by me.

I would only make one point  here.  The resemblance is in this layman's mind scary at least.  May I respectfully request you take the time to read this joint post first, then go back through it and watch the videos as you re-read the post.  If you, as I, feel a nervousness creeping  into you body forward the Conservative Outrage blog link to your friends to see if they concur with you. I personally plan to forward this to my elected officials and any liberal who will give me their email address or allow me to post to their blog.

Kristallnacht* was triggered by the assassination of German diplomat Ernst vom Rath by Herschel Grynszpan, a German-born Polish Jew. In a coordinated attack on Jewish people and their property, 91 Jews were murdered and 25,000 to 30,000 were arrested and placed in concentration camps. 267 synagogues were destroyed and thousands of homes and businesses were ransacked. This was done by the Hitler Youth, the Gestapo and the SS.[2] Kristallnacht also served as a pretext and a means for the wholesale confiscation of firearms from German Jews.[3]
While the assassination of Rath served as a pretext for the attacks, Kristallnacht was part of a broader Nazi policy of antisemitism and persecution of the Jews.[4] Kristallnacht was followed by further economic and political persecutions and is viewed by many historians as the beginning of the Final Solution, leading towards the genocide of the Holocaust.[5]

OBAMA/HITLER -  FRIGHTENING SIMILARITIES

I don't expect the younger generations to know, simply because they weren't around when Hitler was in power, and because they are being given a "white-washed" version of history by the leftist liberals who have taken control of our public school system, but how about some of you older folks, those of you who were born during World War II or shortly after, are you beginning to get the feeling of deja vu? Are you beginning to feel a cold chill down your spine?

If you haven't noticed, there are increasingly shocking Parallels between Barack Hussein Obama and Adolph Hitler.

When Hitler came on the scene, he was a complete unknown in political circles. He had no experience, but he was a glib tongued mesmerizing speaker and nothing more then a nationalist/socialist agitator. Barack Hussein Obama  is much the same. His biggest claim to fame is that he was a "community organizer" (a leftist liberal socialist agitator) with a glib tongue. As far as political experience, he spent a short period of time in the Illinois State Legislator where he had a far less then stellar record (most of his time there, he voted "present" on various legislation rather then taking a real stand). After getting himself elected to the United States Senate, through the use of underhanded dirty Chicago political tricks, he occupied that position for three years, but two and half of those three years were spent campaigning for president.

Much like the German press built up the Hitler messiah-ship, our media is doing the same thing with Obama. We have on air news personalities who proudly and publicly proclaim that they get tingle up and down their leg every time Obama speaks. We have television "super stars" such as Oprah Winfrey, who publicly proclaimed Obama as the ONE.

Hitler managed to mesmerize the youth and young adults of Germany and his regime formed the "Hitler Youth Corp", where the children and young adults became perfect LITTLE NAZIS, snitches who gladly ratted out their own parents and neighbors. Many of the German young adults became members of Hitler's "Brown Shirts', his goon squads who implemented Hitler's aims and programs through the "persuasion of power" (beatings, assaults, intimidation and destruction of property).

You say that can't happen here, well the following video should make your hair stand on end:

Don't forget, Obama already signed into law the Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act (GIVE) which will massively increase the Americorps program which will oversee Obama's Civilian Security Force under ACORN.

The powers that be can use this program to cram their socialist/liberal ideology down the throats of the youthful "volunteers", many of whom could be forced into service since the bill creates a Congressional Commission on Civic Service.

Does this look cute to you?

Now lets look at it in a different light. Is it cute now or frightening?

Adolph Hitler and Barack Obama are eerily similar. Both men have a dark past and hide their ancestral roots and both claim to be Christian. I fear Obama and I sense an evil all about him.

Claiming to be Christian, Obama's early upringing was as a Muslim. Adolph Hitler was not a German, he was Austrian born to a Jewish mother. Hitler grew up in squalor, Obama was also not wealthy in his upbringing.

While Hitler championed the talk of being poor and having to be a self-made man and claiming to be Christian, he hid the fact that he was of Jewish ancestry. He hid the fact that he was a Godless atheist. Again, just like Barack Hussein Obama hides his Muslim background. This is terrifying.

Every single tyrannical dictator needs the power of charismatic speeches and hordes of young followers to faint in excitement when they hear shallow words and promises.

Obama's political rallies were held mainly in stadiums and large auditoriums, and people followed him blindly without question. People made shameful propaganda videos in his name and worshiped him like he was the "second coming" of the Lord.

Obama’s Youth are brainwashed and taught to hate their Christian American heritage, instilled by their Republican forefathers. As his wife Michelle said during the campaign; "We must change our history and our traditions." She also said; "When my husband is elected, he is going to make people do things they don't want to do...." She was right, wasn't she?

People followed Hitler blindly without question and his political rallies were also held in stadiums. People like Josef Goebbels made shameful propaganda posters for Hitler. These posters championed dangerous ideas such as universal health care, war-alliances with Iran, denouncement of the Jews and nationalization of business and resources: how odd, Barack Obama supports all of these things as well.

Hitler’s Youth were also secretly trained to support genocide of the innocent and to hate their Catholic German heritage, instilled by their Holy Republican forefathers.

Barack Obama hates it when people pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America; our one nation under God. Obama hates it so much that he refuse to salute our  nations flag in public.

Obama wants crowds to acknowledge him, and almost all of his speeches are about him. Adolf Hitler demanded everyone greet him with a Heil Hitler, as Hitler fancied himself to be a god-king such as the pagan Egyptian pharaohs and Roman emperors.

Often, tyrants need a scapegoat to blame the problems of their county on. In Hitler's Germany, it was the Jews who were blamed for the mess Germany was in following World War I. On Nov. 9, 1938, Nazi gangs shattered windows of Jewish businesses and torched synagogues throughout Germany in the so-called "Kristallnacht", ("Crystal Night," or the "Night of Broken Glass") the first massive display of anti-Jewish hostility that led to the Holocaust, the mass murder of Jews.

In almost all large German cities and some smaller ones that night, store windows of Jewish shops were broken, Jewish houses and apartments were destroyed, and synagogues were demolished and set on fire. Many Jews were arrested, some were beaten, and some were even killed.

What ever the historical facts are, the attacks against the Jews on the night of Nov. 9, 1938, was not a sudden event. Anti Jewish sentiments had been building for many years, starting in small ways such as anti-semitic signs, cartoons, protests, demeaning jokes, growing like a cancer throughout, not only German society, but much of Europe.

So what does this have to do with Barack Obama you ask? Take a close look at what has been going on right here in America over the past several decades. Anti-Christian sentiments have been on the rise, especially around Christmas time, in a nation founded on Judeo/Christian principles.

Step by step, all mention of God or Christ are being erased from the public venue. Prayer was removed from the schools, then all traditional Christmas songs were banned from school programs. Then courts and other government buildings were ordered to remove any displays of the Ten Commandments. Stores and other businesses began to shun saying "Merry Christmas", and the Christmas tree began to be referred to as a holiday tree. Artists began to produce vile and disgusting works of art depicting Christianity, the Holy Mother and Child made out of elephant dung, the Crucifix displayed in a jar of piss, etc. Even our government gives taxpayer money to endow such "art".

These anti-Christian acts have grown more numerous since the rise of Barack Obama. In one of his books, 'Dreams of My Father', Obama stated; "I will side with the Muslims if the political winds take a turn for the worse." Since his inauguration, he has thrown Israel under the bus at every opportunity. During his campaign, he stated; "No matter what we once were, the United States is no longer a Christian nation," he also told an audience in Turkey that if we counted all of the Muslims in the United States, America would be the largest Muslim country in the world.

Upon taking office, Obama refused to acknowledge the National Day of Prayer, but proclaimed June to be National Gay, Lesbian, Transsexual, Transgendered Month. He also opened the traditional White House Easter Egg Hunt to 'same-sex couples' and their "children", sticking his finger in the eye of traditional Christians. When he gave a speech at Georgetown University, he ordered that the Crucifix and other Christian religious statues and art work behind him, be covered up. During an interview he gave a number of years ago, he said; "The Muslim 'call to prayer' is the most beautiful sound in the world."

So, should we as Christians be worried, should we be afraid? watch the videos again and then decide for yourselves.

Friend, I think not, Brother, Yes

This post was originally written in May 2008.  It was not posted for personal reasons.  I now feel I can post it because maybe my prayers were answered or maybe Somebody  else had a different plan.

George Orwell

"We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand
ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm."

This may sound like a strange way to start a posting however, Were the words of Mr. Orwell not true this posting and comments to it, most likely would not now or never have happened. Whether you are on the right or the left we all owe a great debt of gratitude to the men and women who keep us safe and free. Sermon is over, now on to thoughts of an old guy whose friends and some not friends tolerate him on the blogosphere and some even in person.

As I sit here in front of my computer I listen to the music from a blog of a man I have never met. On his blog he has music from a popular musician I have never listened to. This man is much younger than I. Yet, in our emails and blog replies I am somewhat struck that, in maturity and spiritual belief, he has it together in such a manner  I can't describe. This may come to a surprise to those that know me personally as you are aware I am seldom without words.

I know from his selflessness and deeds, he is the consummate professional who puts deeds before words and human kindness before himself. He always has someone else to care and lookout for. I don't know his family however, when he talks about his wife and children you sense the respect, the passion, the caring he has for them. I have developed a respect for what this man does and how aware he is about "his people" that I can't put into words. Yet, I have never met him.

I don't believe if we ever met he would refer to me as his friend, this would not be disrespectful of him and I would take no ill will. I believe I would be welcomed as a brother he had never met. I would feel the same way of him, a brother I had never met. The Internet has brought me in touch with many wonderful and caring people but none has moved me in such a way as this man. I have learned much about relationships from him and much about my self.

Can you really make a friend if you really have never met them,? Can you make a friend if you have never looked into their eyes, felt their handshake, or the passion in their voice? I have thought about this for sometime for my friend/brother has been sent on a journey.

This journey to him is so serious that he has decided he can no longer spend time on his blog. His journey is to "his people" and all his energy and resources must go toward them. Do I envy him? Yes, in a way. Am I sad that our communication will be stopped? Yes, in a way. Am I jealous of him, you betcha Charlie! I only wish I had his internal, spiritual, and physical strength of this young man. Am I proud to call him a friend? Well, as I said I do not believe he nor I would ever call each other friend. I do believe he would not object if I called him my brother.

You see the Internet can be used for evil and ill purposes. As I said before I have met many wonderful and interesting people through this medium. He is one of them. Good luck on your journey my brother. May G-d be with you, watch over you and "your people" where ever your journey takes you.

Do you have such a friend? Reach out to them, tell them how you feel. For one day your friend or brother may say, "I'm going on a journey and won't be able to talk with you" Reach out to them my friends, let them know, you care for them.

Shalom,

Peace to all the World

*Update,
My friend/brother has returned safely from his journey and for this I give thanks.

And Now From the Christian Perspective

I am indebted to my friend and fellow blogger the Most Rev. Archbishop Gregori for giving us a view of Hanukkah from the Christian side.

HAPPY HANUKKAH

As an Orthodox Catholic Bishop, I often urge my parishoners to take part in all of the Jewish Festivals. Every year at Pass Over, I hold a Seder Dinner with ALL of the traditional foods. Likewise, besides putting up the traditional Manger Scene and Christmas Tree (it is a Hanukkah Bush to my Jewish friends) I also light the Menorah on each of the eight days of Hanukkah.

Christians, all too often, tend to forget that Jesus, our Lord and Savior, the Son of God, was Jewish. Being a Jew, he observed ALL of the Jewish Feasts and customs, including Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights. It was important to him, so much so that he took himself to the very place where the Hanukkah miracle had occurred.

To those who may not know what Hanukkah is, let be give a little background:

In the second century BC,  Antiochus Epiphanes became the new king of the Seleucid Empire. Under his tyrannical rule Judaism was prohibited as a religion and the Temple in Jerusalem was desecrated while the Jewish people themselves were persecuted.

Matthias, a Levite (member of the priestly chaste) along with his five sons rebelled against attempts to force pagan sacrifices on the Jewish people. Judah, one of Matthias' sons, finally managed to take control of the rebel forces and experienced stunning military success against the Seleucids; as a result, he became known as Maccabeus, which means “the Hammer.” Judah and his rebel forces prevailed and retook the Temple, which was cleansed and rededicated. One problem, however, was there was only enough olive oil to light the menorah in the Temple for one day. Miraculously, this oil lasted for eight days, which was just enough time to prepare a new supply of oil.

Hanukkah celebrates this ancient miracle; and over the course of eight days, Jewish families light a modified menorah, called a hanukkiah, which has eight branches instead of the usual six, to symbolize the eight days of the original miracle. The blessings the family or community says together when lighting the candles acknowledges God as the ruler of the universe, “who made miracles possible for our ancestors in those days at this same season.” Jewish observers then sing the hymn “Rock of Ages” including the words “My God, you are the rock of my rescue and it is lovely to praise you. Restore my house of prayer where I will offer thanks...” Additional traditions include the eating of foods fried in oil, like doughnuts and potato pancakes, and playing with a four sided top called a dreidel.

As a kid, I was always jealous of the Jewish kids in my neighborhood because as a Christian, all I got were presents on Christmas morning, that was it, but them lucky Jewish kids got presents for eight nights in a row! As Christian children we were taught that Christmas is more than gift-giving so, too, Jewish parents teach that Hanukkah gifts are a reminder of the origins of the season’s joy, and not the reason for it.

In Israel, part of the Hanukkah celebrations involve visits to the “Land of the Maccabees” in the foothills of Judah around the modern city of Modi’in, near the ancestral home of Judah’s family. Today, It is common to find Christians, be they Messianic Jew or Gentile Christian, celebrating Hanukkah. For Gentile Christians, it serves as a reminder that our God is a god of miracles, past, present, and future. It is also a reminder of Jesus’ words recorded in John 8: 12: When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

So, those who haven't yet done so, get out and shamelessly and in a joyful way, celebrate our Savior's Jewish roots, and If you are in need of a miracle, remember this: God, who performed the miracle of Hanukkah for the Jews in 164 BC and Jesus, who performed miracles in Israel 2000 years ago, is the same One who performs miracles today. So, light those candles and believe in your heart that miracles do happen.

Hanukkah

Good evening friends, followers and fellow bloggers.  This evening we have a guest post by Spitfire of  lovelettersfrompapa.blogspot.com/

Thank you for writing it  Spitfire. I hope you all enjoy a little educational story outside our normal relm of discussion.
Pops

Hi Everyone! Today at sundown is the beginning of Hanukkah. I realize lots of folks don't know much about Hanukkah and Pops asked me to try to explain a little about it. So let's see if I can 'shed some light' on the subject. (Sorry for the pun, couldn't help myself.) OK, Hanukkah is also known as the Festival of Lights (hence the pun...) or the Festival of Dedication. The story begins long, long ago in a distant land...the land of Ancient Israel. This will require quite a bit of century skipping to keep this short, so please forgive me.

Around 200 BC, which would be during the 'silent' period in Christian Bibles, between the 'old' and 'new' testaments, the Seleucid King Antiochus IV Epiphanes  took over control of Judea and Samaria. He began slowly to outlaw the practice of Judaism and took over the Jewish Temple in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem). This was not received well by the Jewish people. But when he insisted on slaughtering pigs on the Temple Altar to honor Zeus, according to his Hellenistic faith, things reached a boiling point. There was a Jewish priest (yes they were called priests way back in Exodus!) named Mattithius with 5 sons who said "That's enough!" (Paraphrased) He and his sons led a revolt against Antiochus who called in the whole Greek army. Mattithius was killed and his son Judah the Macabbee (meaning hammer) takes over. This begins the Hasmonean Jewish Kingdom. The fight takes 2 years, but this rough and tumble bunch of Jews defeats the Greek army! They immediately set out to clean and resanctify the Temple (this would be Solomon's Temple I believe). When they are ready to relight the Menorah (candelabra), they only find one small jar of sanctified oil. Oops. Now what will they do? Well, they'll gather some olives to make more oil and have it sanctified of course. But that process takes 8 days. Oy vey! Well, they decide they'll have to relight the Menorah to signify that the Temple is ready for YHWH to return and dwell there...and just have to get the fresh olive oil done as quickly as possible....knowing it will take 8 days. When they return to the Temple, they were dumbfounded!! The Menorah was still lit!!! There was oil for one day, but now 8 full days later, the Menorah is still lit!! Oh, what a miracle happened there!!! Quick! A celebration is in order!

Now, jump forward a couple hundred years...it's now the time of Yeshua. He's a grown man ministering around the countryside. In John 10:22, it says He was in Yerushaliyam (Jerusalem) in winter for the Feast of Dedication...ahah! He's there for Hanukkah! SInce Yeshua and His followers were practicing Jews, of course they'd celebrate Hanukkah! Now, if you keep reading He tells folks He's there to do the work His Father had sent Him to do. If you have a Bible with the Apocrypha, the whole battle is found in 1 and 2 Macabees. It's a great story of valor, drama and faith. If you don't have a copy, check out Hebrew4Christians, they have a great sight to find out more about Christianity's Jewish roots.

Ok, so what do we do to celebrate this now??? Well, this is where it gets fun! We light a special Menorah, called a Hanukiah, that has 9 branches. We light a candle adding another one each night till all 8 candles are lit. The ninth candle is the Shamesh, the helper candle. (Psst, see a correlation to the Father in that? The Helper Candle? Lights the other candles to shed their light into the darkness....sounding slightly familar? Kinda like Yeshua??? Hmmm, I thought so.) Anyway, we light the candles, say special prayers that thank Papa for providing for us, protecting us and bringing us to this time of year. Then we eat....and eat.....and eat. In fact, I think we eat more at Hanukkah than any other holiday except Pesach (Passover). We eat sufganiyot (jelly donuts), latkes (potato pancakes) in all different styles, chocolate gelt (coins), cookies and most anything you can fry or bake in oil. Then we play games..,.things like the Dreidel game and family type games that all can participate in. And we sing songs and dance. You've never sung until you've sung "Bubbe had a latke cake!" (It's sung to the tune of Mammy's little darling makes Shortnin Bread...) We spend lots of time together as a family and with friends having fun. Celebrating! It's tons of fun, lasts for 8 days and gives us reasons to truly enjoy the gluminess of winter.

So as all we who observe the Biblical fFeasts prepare for Hanukkah to start, we pray peace, joy and laughter into the lives of all. May your days be filled with His light, as our homes will be filled with the light of our candles that remind us of His light. May your hearts be filled with joy, peace and sounds that remind you how much Papa loves you. And may YHWH, (G-d), our Elohim (the Divine) bless each and everyone of you each of your days and draw you closer to Him with each breathe you take. Shalom and Mozel Tov! Spitfire

WIN, WIN, WIN, Where was Win?

As I said on my Mark 1:11 blog last evening I wanted to digest President' Obama's speech before commenting on it.  Well, it's 0523 hours in my time zone, I am somewhat awake, the coffee is brewing and I have just completed reading his speech compliments of The Huffington Post.  Yes, I said the Huffington Post.  Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.  First off let me tell you I absolutely despise teleprompters.  What ever happened to some notes and speaking from your heart?  Everything is so scripted these days and nothing is real.

He started off with a good moderate beginning then led into blaming the previous administrations for failing in this war effort.  Had the administration of President Clinton taken out or captured USB when he had the chance 9/11 most likely not have happened. You can't un-ring the bell so we move on.The President and I quote: "Then, in early 2003, the decision was made to wage a second war in Iraq. The wrenching debate over the Iraq War is well-known and need not be repeated here."  He then goes on to repeat the same rhetoric from the past etc, etc, etc.    This is unnecessary and has nothing to do with the mission.

Next he goes into the costs involved in the war in Iraq.  In a time of war the cost of a war is not germane.  It is not the cost  of lives, equipment, political liabilities or any other thing.  The focus must be on winning.  If winning is not the objective don't undertake the initiative.   It will only produce wasted time, money, wasted resources and personnel. This was unnecessary in the light of his administration's spend, spend, spend attitude of American taxpayer's $$$$$.

Let me be clear: there has never been an option before me that called for troop deployments before 2010, so there has been no delay or denial of resources necessary for the conduct of the war.   .....Given the stakes involved, I owed the American people - and our troops - no less.

I am not sure of what the first line of the above statement is all about.  I presume it is a political defensive move as to why he has waited so long to make a decision regarding "his" General's request.  The last line I agree with.  He owes the troops 110% of his time regarding decisions that place them in harms way.

The President goes on to announce the number of troops.  This number is only 75% of those requested by his own, hand picked General.  He then goes on to infer additional troops will be coming from NATO allies.  This while it had all ready been reported that some European  countries were not going to send an additional troops. Clik here.  This type of smoke and mirrors I find disturbing.  The lack of a complete truth on something as serious as this, indicates to me a lack of confidence in ones own decision.  I have never, and never, will be a defender of giving a date of exiting.  To me that's like telling a boxer you don't have to win by a knockout.  Just stay on your feet till the end of the 10th round and YOU WIN!  I can dance around the ring for quite a while with those conditions.

The President went on to infer this was not the same as Vietnam.  He made some valid points. It isn't another Vietnam on his points.  Where it is another Vietnam is that it is being run by politicians and not Generals.  Therein lies the problem.  President Obama last night referred to himself several times, an rightly so, as Commander in Chief.  The Constitution gives him that title. Unlike becoming a Marine, it was a title given, not earned! It does not make him a military genius.  It certainly does not make him competent to make military decisions. His second in command, Vice President Biden has only 5 student deferrals to show for his military expertise. So why would you not listen to your hand picked Generals and send 40,000 of our finest fighting soldiers?  This is suspect to me.

I am not the greatest scholar, many of you will agree with that.  I am not a scholar at all.  However, doesn't the President's ending remarks sound like something I have heard from someone else before?  Perhaps I am wrong but.......  Correct me if I am wrong.
....we are passing through a time of great trial. And the message that we send in the midst of these storms must be clear: that our cause is just, our resolve unwavering. We will go forward with the confidence that right makes might, and with the commitment to forge an America that is safer,....

Oh, by the way, where was the word "win" in this speech?

Lutheran Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Destruction of the embryo in the mother's womb is a violation of the right to live which God has bestowed upon this nascent life. To raise the question whether we are here concerned already with a human being or not is merely to confuse the issue. The simple fact is that God certainly intended to create a human being and that this nascent human being has been deliberately deprived of his life. And that is nothing but murder.
