My Rule for Life

I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is.

This is a Conservative Outrage!

A couple important items from the Drudge Report that may not be addressed in the main stream  media.

For brief discussion and then everyone should read the complete articles to make their own decision.

WASHINGTON TIMES:  The possible removal of the pictures of Generals Jackson and Lee of the Confederate Army from the walls of the US Army War College.  This action seems fairly simple to me.  They were Generals in an Army during a "war", WAR COLLEGE, that future generals learn about "war".  This is a no brainier. Leave the damn pictures hang.

Breitbart.com:  The Obama administration spending more tax payers $$$ to promote the all ready failed  Obamacare health program.  It was reported that less than 10% of the number of American citizens to support the program have been enrolled. Whether it is a computer system that doesn't work, Navigators that lie to get people into the program, billing clients checking accounts incorrectly or just plain, "you can keep your doctor (fraud)" any further advertising for this program should be stopped. PERIOD!

AND FINALLY

Politico.com: Hurting the military is one of President Obama's favorite games.  The budget bill under consideration will cut the COLA percentage of retired military personnel.  This is just unconscionable! Not only retired military personnel but

                         DISABLED MILITARY PERSONNEL

While this President goes to Hawaii for 17 days on the taxpayers $$$ our Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Coast Guard and Air Force veterans are expected to pay for it!  Besides a do nothing President, we have a do nothing congress that is currently support a budget bill that supports this!!!!

PLEASE CALL AND EMAIL your Congressman to stop this atrocity and vote NO, on the budget bill currently being considered in the Senate!

Subvet/Guest Post/"The Grace of......"

From time to time we all reach a point where our priorities change.  I know mine have changed in the past 4 years.  Some would say for the better some would say for the worse but, change none the less.  Priorties change.  Such is the case of my good friend and fellow blogger Subvet.  He is a retired Navy veteran, a stay at home, full time dad to 3 very active young children.  His wife works as a nurse and they live in the southwestern part of the United States.  He has hopefully, suspended his blog to give more attention to the children's regular school work and religious upbringing.  A trait many other Americans should IMHO follow.

Subvet has agreed to write posting for Conservative Outrage as a Guest Blogger and it is my pleasure to post this first one of many, I hope, today.  So, as they say, without further ramblings on by me here is his post.  Thank you Subvet.

I’ve recently read “The Grace of Everyday Saints” by Julian Guthrie. It details how the parishioners of St. Brigid Church in the archdiocese of San Francisco fought the closure and sale of their house of worship. It’s a good read; Ms. Guthrie plainly describes how the congregation was screwed in an uncaring, offhand manner by supposed shepherds of the Church. The flock got fleeced, BIG TIME!

But in reading it I was struck by the way over time those folk fighting for their church compromised some of the core beliefs of Catholicism. One example was the gratitude show to a local politician for her support, that gratitude included marching in the annual Gay Pride parade and manning a refreshment booth during it. Both these endeavors involved plainly identifying themselves as members of a Catholic parish. For those not familiar with the Faith, these means implicit endorsement of disordered and immoral conduct, something we’re forbidden to do. No gray areas in it, it’s forbidden. Love the sinner all you want but don’t show any approval of their sinful behavior.

The book unequivocally shows the archbishop and his crew behaved in a vile, selfish manner. But getting down in the mud with your opponent only brings you to their level.

So I thought of how compromising our standards are the last thing we should do. If we’re REALLY trying to follow Christ then we’ve got to forget returning injury for injury. Think of President George W. Bush. From the first day of his first term he was forced to turn the other cheek, his staff went into their offices to find the keyboards of the computers vandalized by a removal of the letter “W” from them. Cheap, childish trick on the part of the Clintonistas, it would have been entirely justified to call attention to it. But the New Chief Executive said to forget it and move on. In many ways that attitude was displayed throughout his terms in office, how many times was he viciously attacked by his opponents and returned their lies and insults with silence? Like many others I clamored for him to respond in kind at times. He didn’t and I firmly believe it was because of his Christian beliefs.

Could we expect the same forbearance from the current occupant of the White House?

Where does this lead me? Like a lot of conservatives I have no doubt our nation has irrevocably changed for the worse. We’ll soon find ourselves pariahs for our beliefs. The more you try following traditional Christian teaching the more you’ll be insulted, attacked, vilified, slandered, etc. Kind of like what Christ promised (John 15: 18-22). Something to look forward to.

We can’t put our faith in any man either; we follow Christ and know that we and other followers are merely human. That means we’ll inevitably fail when left to our own devices. Even those who seem to be among the best will stumble at times. Here is one example: http://www.crisismagazine.com/2013/the-new-tone-of-u-s-bishops-sounds-very-familiar?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+CrisisMagazine+%28Crisis+Magazine%29

Until recently Cardinal Dolan was looked upon as a strong and courageous leader. Lately he seems to have lost his way. Hopefully it isn’t permanent, even Peter denied Christ three times.

Getting back to the book, by the end of the tale the parishioners have saved their church from demolition. It’s been sold after the outer portion was declared a historic landmark (that declaration was no easy task for them either!) They’re currently working on having the interior of the building also designated a historic landmark. This would pave the way for returning it to its former status as a house of worship. If that ever happens I’d guess they’ll try reclaiming it.

In the process of all this they’ve become more of a close knit extended family. That’s pretty heartwarming I’d guess. But if doing that involved abandoning their Faith then I believe they’ve gotten the dirty end of the stick. From descriptions of their present religious observances I’d say that is exactly what happened. Maybe I’m just an old grump, but it’s how I see it.

Mark 8-36 comes to mind.

Anyway, we who call ourselves Christians and try to follow Christ have a long row to hoe. I thought of that the other day while reading the local fish wrap. One of the editorial board members had written a piece in support of gay marriage and how he believed Christians should refrain from all judgment. He felt this was what Jesus would do.

Whoever thinks Christ never passed judgment on others hasn’t paid attention to how He spoke to hypocritical Pharisees and scribes. That whole turning over the tables of the money changers in the Temple wasn’t exactly on the touchy-feely, I’m-okay-you’re-okay level either.

If we note the public endorsement of sin and evil in our society and say nothing, we’re a part of the problem. Calling evil good and good evil isn’t such a fine idea either.

But we’ll soon see plenty of faux Christians lining up to endorse gay marriage, euthanasia, greater public funding of abortion and other evils. Those of us who try to remain truly counter cultural in this will experience the “white martyrdom” of clinging to Christ while losing all else we hold dear.

At the same time we’ll be called to pray for those who persecute us, just as Christ prayed for the forgiveness of His murderers. No easy task, but that’s the way it goes. For whatever slight comfort it offers, I recently read a book concerning the Catholic Sacrament of Reconciliation/Penance. The author claimed that the more centered on God you become, the more abhorrent your past sins and transgressions appear. That’ll be small comfort, but maybe it’s the best we’re allowed in this world.

See you in the reeducation camps; I’ll be the grumpy fat guy with a sub service logo tattooed on my right forearm.

God’s will be done, may He have mercy on us all.

This is a bad thing?

Here’s a paragraph from McClatchy.com,  March 25,2013:

HUNGER STRIKER COULD DIE

Although it’s camp policy to prevent a captive from starving himself, the prison staff talks about the possibility that a hunger-striking captive will be found dead one day.

OK, so….so sorry about your luck, you’re the one who tried to kill American soldiers and got caught. Now you’re in a cushy prison at Guantanamo Bay getting 3 squares a day and you don’t want to eat the food. So F’ING starve, you moron!

There is only one thing more ridiculous than this. Here’s another paragraph:

By this weekend, the U.S. military had defined 26 of the 166 captives as hunger strikers. Eight were being fed nutritional shakes through a tube snaked through a shackled captive’s nose to his stomach. Two were hospitalized, getting nutrition through a tube and intravenous hydration as well.

Good golly, this Administration and the Congress has the country in Seeequessstooor, VP Biden has to give up his weekly flights home, Democrat Representative, Deb, the Dingbat, Wasshername, says congressional staffers can’t afford to buy lunch, and there is blasphemes talk of shutting down the Congressional ($5 million debt) barber shop and we’re force feeding morons who tried to kill American soldiers. These guys want to die and get their 40 virgins (not necessarily women) so let them FREAKING DIE!!!! Save the taxpayers $$$ so POTUS and Mechelle, my bell, can go on another vacation!!!

Read the entire article at: http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2013/03/24/186784/at-guantanamo-captives-war-on.html

I’m only briefly going into the same sex marriage debate for two reasons. First, while grocery shopping yesterday I saw a young male and female couple wearing T-shirts that had printed on them, “FUC_ DOMA”. My first inclination was to walk up and say something such as, your T-shirt language is offensive to me.Then I thought, no; just go tell them they are morons with no class (which would have been true, IMHO). Admittedly I thought of trying to tear the shirts off, however that would have landed me in jail. I don’t look good in stripes. So I just ignored them. By not expressing my feelings, which I believe is what they wanted, attention, I defeated their purpose.

Secondly, with SCOTUS, approving OBAMACARE, the approval ruling on same sex marriage, which is an oxymoron, is a slam dunk! Same sex marriage is like Judeo-Christian, it’s either one or the other. Frankly I don’t have a problem with two people of the same sex living together. Never thought you would hear that here, did you? Homosexually is the sin and Christians are taught to hate the sin and forgive the sinner. Homosexuals all ready have a "civil union" IMHO they don't want to be different.....but they are! For what ever the reason.  They just want to belong and be the same....which they aren't.  Sorry about your luck too!

My problem becomes changing the meaning of words or substituting words for words that are softer. In the 60’s homosexual meant two people of the same sex having a relationship of any kind. Today the word is “gay” which in the 60’s meant happy. We have changed the wording of execution to lethal injection. Dead is dead, the means or wording to the victim is totally irrelevant.

This reality came to mind as Pastor was reading from his Bible in church yesterday. I was reading along on my Kindle Fire Bible and the words were not quite the same. Actually some words were omitted where other words were substituted. Was the meaning the same? To me, I suppose so; because in my brain I automatically substituted the word or words I grew up with and subconsciously learned many years ago. I just wonder why we have to substitute words. Change for the sake of change I guess.

But, in my mind there will never be a same-sex marriage or a Judeo-Christian. You can’t have it both ways. Make a decision and stick with it. You’ll be thought a better person if you do.

Ohio Senator Portman, Out of the Closet

The decline and decay of the American Republican Party continues.  Coming out of the closet, as it could be referred to is what Ohio Senator Rob Portman did Friday.  Mr. Portman with a programmed plan of a limited press releases and an Op Ed piece in the local Columbus, Ohio rag, The Columbus Dispatch came out in favor of legal homosexual marriage.  Homosexual marriage by definition is impossible. That is what the homosexual community wants to do, change the definition of marriage.    This announcement is so typical of the politicians in Washington DC now.  If this announcement will cause a problem, announce it on Friday.  The weekend is coming and by Monday it will be old news and there will be less heat from the voting public.

During his entire political career Mr. Portman had allegedly been a opponent of homosexual marriage.  What changed his mind on homosexual marriage?  He says the fact that his son told him he was homosexual 2 years ago has brought about the change in his stance.  That doesn’t hold water.  Mr. Portman says he consulted his religious mentor about this.  It is my understanding he attends the Methodist Church.  It is also my understanding the Methodist Church is hemorrhaging parishioners because of their stand or lack thereof on this very issue.*  I might add the Methodist Church is not the only church in this situation so is the Lutheran church of which I have first hand information.

Mr. Portman was elected by the voters of the state of Ohio.  His job, so to speak, is to vote the will of those that voted him in office.  It is up to him in this position, as a US Senator, to put his personal feelings aside and vote the will of the people.  It has yet to be decided exactly what that will is.  In 2004 the will of the people was 62 percent of the population was against homosexuals being allowed to marry.  Current polls allege the numbers have dramatically shifted to a 50/50 split.  That is quite a shift in a mere 8 years.
Mr. Portman was elected on a strict Conservative platform.  He either deceived the voters then or this revelation has caused him to waiver on his stated position now. Which ever scenario it was or is Mr. Portman can no longer represent the people of Ohio that elected him.  Personal feelings are not, and should not interfere with the will of the people.  Mr. Portman should immediately resign as he has gained his position as a Senator under false pretense.
Read the complete article, clik here.

Mr. Portman should have seriously consider the saying of Mahatma Gandhi who said, "Hate the sin, love the sinner."** before he made his decision to betray his constituants. Most Conservatives would support Mr. Portman if he would have adopted this approach. However, with this attitude change Mr. Portman is embracing the sin.  Having said that,  let those without sin cast the first stone.

Win....at Any Cost

To my Catholic friends, allow me to congratulate you on the selection of your new church leader and Pope.  Not being Catholic it does not resonate with me quite as strongly as with you I am certain.  However, being a Constitutional, Christian, Conservative I certainly applaud any new Christian leader who is willing to take up the challenges of Christianity today.

I would like to thank my daughter, Sarah, for the Kindle Fire that was my Christmas present this past year.  I would also like to thank Wendy's Hamburgers for providing the free Wi-Fi, and CNN (yes,CNN) that provided the live coverage which enabled me to watch the new Pope Francis address the crowd at the Vatican.

Taken aback to say the least was how I would describe this article.  It  deals with Representative Gifford's husband, Mark Kelly.  Now why is it not Representative Kelly or Mark Giffords?  Herein lies part of the problem with the new America that is being pushed by the progressive/liberal party, incorrectly called Democrat. The "win at any cost" mantra used by these misfits and malcontents is somewhat disconcerting to G-d fearing, Bible clutching, gun holding Conservatives.  You see, we too often see the world through rose colored glasses.  We try to understand people in a logical, intelligent way.  The problem with this is the progressive/liberal/democrat isn't dealing with a mind that is logical let alone intelligent.  They deal with everything in a touchy, feeling  emotional way.  Also spoiled and selfish way, my way or I'll take my ball and go home.

I am particularly concerned with Mr. Kelly as he drags the recovering retired Representative around the country highlighting  the before and after of his injured wife.  Retired Representative Giffords cannot hide the injuries she received due to the severity of them.  To start an organization and use her as a prop for what appears to be "his" cause now is unconscionable in my humble opinion. As a military man (retired) he knows the value of being prepared for combat with what ever weapon you have at your disposal.  He as much agreed with this when he stated he would keep the pistol he recently bought.  He used his wife as prop just like he used the AK he bought along with the pistol to attempt to prove his point. This is a sad, sad state of affairs, IMHO, of course. A retired military man touting the progressive/liberal/democrat agenda and using his ill wife to advance this cause is,  again unconscionable.

My second concern comes from my home state (by birth, by choice it would be any southern state) Ohio.  Here we have a perfect example of "win (windy she talks too much for her own good) at any cost" by a supporter of President dope and shame.  The intellectual level of this lady must be somewhere between an amoeba (a one celled animal for those of you in Loma Linda) and a stalk of celery.  I applaud the fact she has proven our voting system is old, outdated and can be breached very easily.  I abhor the fact she put her personal prejudices before the country that gives her that freedom of voting unencumbered and free of threat.  This incident only give rise to the mega possibility that President Dope and Shame could have quite easily been falsely elected.  With the million of dollars from Hollywood, Mr. Soreass, and the unions the electronics of voting  could have been manipulated from somewhere outside the United States. Just for one minute think about it.  One unintelligent woman voting 6 times and don't forget the nun. This woman should be in hiding somewhere in Brazil.  She gave up her Savior for the opportunity to elect President dope and shame!  May the Lord have mercy on her soul. Now again, just think of one computer geek hacking into voting data basis.......need I say more.

One note about the nun she still has a job at the same college.  Don't believe me!  Check it outl

The 54-year-old Kloos has resigned as the dean of the Division of Arts and Humanities at the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati, where she still serves as an associate professor of religious and pastoral studies.

Would you want her teaching your children at a religious college!  What is wrong with this country!!!

Taken By Surprise

I was somewhat taken by surprise this weekend by my younger son, Jacob. In his lifetime he has surprised me on several different occasions which I could go into but won’t. Mostly they were good surprises, mostly. This weekend was different.

We are watching the idiot box when a news article comes on about all the ammunition being purchased by the Obama administration. I have posted about this as has some of my fellow bloggers (is it one "g" or two). There is the theory that this regime may be buying up ammunition and shipping it to various government agencies around the country for the purpose of quelling any civil unrest should President "Dope and Shame" try to scam an “El President for Life”. This is just a theory that has been making its rounds for several months. With the growing sentiment regarding the attack on the 2nd Amendment I can see the concern. See the following article:

http://cnsnews.com/blog/gregory-gwyn-williams-jr/update-number-us-gun-makers-refusing-sales-govt-firearms-equality

My normally non-committal son tells me he has a completely different theory regarding the governments purchase of billions with a “B” rounds of ammunition. Jacob’s theory is the Obama administration is in trouble regarding the economy. Only taking away our “right” to keep and bear arms will get millions of people fired up. So this administration is buying up all the ammunition. There by driving the price sky high. Have you tried to buy any .22 ammo lately? Here in Central Ohio it is sold before going on the shelf. The same holds true of other popular calibers.

Now the government sets up a shell company or for goodness sakes another government agency and sells the ammo to the public. The money generated would be used to pay down the debt. This would take the wind out of the Republicans sails and a huge factor for saying Obama can do anything.

This way the administration continues to track the Conservative Americans he hates and the liberal left he coddles. Of course the price would be so high only rich Conservative Americans could afford it. Now he has their money. The masses of middle class Conservative Americans are scraping to feed their families so they can’t buy ammo. No masses with guns and ammo, no power to stop a Chavez style takeover. Control the media, DONE; control the weapons, beginning to be DONE. Have your own private army, Need I say, Teamster, NEA, UAW and the list goes on and on, DONE. Oh yes, be certain to create a little class warfare DONE. Remember Hitler and the Jewish population in Germany. That’s just an example all you liberals don’t get your panties in a bunch.

With a little commentary by me that is the way my son, Jacob says it could happen. Interesting, very interesting.

A Wise Pope

Not being Catholic I have refrained from commenting about the Pope’s resignation UNTIL NOW! All my religious and Catholic friends don’t get your panties in a bunch; I am not going to crack on the Pope. Remember I have a Monsignor that occasionally reads my blog. The fact of the matter is I believe the Pope did the right thing.

If I may be allowed to reflect on my career for some background you hopefully, will understand why. As a young 24 year old fresh out the Army in 19 and 70 I choose to become a police officer, following in my father’s footsteps so to speak. He was in his 50’s. Being my father, mentor and best friend we often would talk about situations we had been in. As the years rolled by and he left “the streets” for a less active position I began to notice something. The guy I loved and respected more than anybody was slowing down, in mind, in body and in spirit. This was not bad just a plain ol’ ordinary fact of life.

I had enough time to recognize some young rookies coming on the department were better educated, trained and little faster than I. This can be good; of course it can get your butt in a sling also. This sometimes would require the older more experienced officer, (ah hum) me or another more senior officer to bail their backside out of trouble. Getting the drift? I’m not old enough for the “less active” position but I am no longer the “chargin’ Charlie” either. Age, as and in of itself causes class distinctions. It is inevitable.

This reminds me of my young warrior son, Jacob.  He was a big Hulk Hogan fan when he was little.  We used to clear the living room of most breakables and I would put a $5.00 bill on the coffee table.  I told him if he could pin me like Hulk he could have the five bucks.  Of course I won.  We continued to play this game until he went into the Army.  After Iraq and Haiti one afternoon we were clowing around and this yound son of mine ask if I wanted to put the $5.00 bill on the table.  Admittedly I wanted to.  That manly testosterone thing you know.  I thought hmm, me 60 plus about 190, him 30 about 175, age, weight and experience, hmmm.......  Here's the five bucks son, spend it wisely,  I just did!

As I said I respect the Pope for his decision. He is old and wise. He understands the concept of aging and accepts it. For this every Catholic and non Catholic follower should be thankful.

Now to the heart of this post. I only wish we had the same leadership values in this country. It seems unfortunately many of the most powerful in America think they have tapped into a fountain of youth. Perhaps they fail to recognize they are failing in mind, body and spirit. Perhaps they think they are irreplaceable. Or perhaps they are just full of __it and think they can run everybody’s life better for the good of the all.

My list of those who should take and follow the Pope start off with:

Senator John McCain. I respect his service but IMHO he really needs to retire.

SCOTUS Justice Ruth Ginsberg, Her health by her own statements is affecting her

Ex President Jimmy Carter, every time he makes a statement it reminds me of the rabbit scare during his presidency.

Joan Rivers, just retire to the Old Actors Home, you had a great career, 30 years ago.

Mayor Bloomberg of New York City,  I wanna drink a 32 ounce soda!

I might add one more name,
Pops,  at least according to his children, LOL

Of course the list could go on and on however I think you get the my drift. Should you care to comment feel free to leave the name of those you may think should follow the Pope’s lead.

God Bless America

Friends,

Below is my response to my good friend and fellow blogger, the Most Reverend, Gregori, over at Let the Truth be Known.  clik here  It comes after Rush Limbaugh said he was ashamed of America.  His comment is/was very troubling to me as I am not a graduate of the Limbaugh School of Conservative Studies however, am and still am a student.  I was shocked to hear Rush say this.  The Most Reverend Gregori was commenting to a commenter on his post and also stated he was ashamed of America.  I take great um-bridge with this as my comment says.

My comments to The Most Reverend Gregori:

MRG,

Never, never, be ashamed of the greatest country on the face of this earth!  It has been and still is the place where all peoples of all nations want to come to.

What to be ashamed of is the way we (excluding you) previous Republicans and now Conservative Tea Party have let the left wing liberals take over, piece by piece, bit by bit.  We have allowed ourselves to be out bred by the have nots and out shouted by the squeaky wheel homosexuals, and out organized by the labor unions.  It's our own damn FAULT!

We can, We must, and we will take back this country or there will be a revolution that will put the Civil War to shame.  It is all ready building up.  History, history, history is the key.  Control the media, control the military, control the minds.  Every dictator in time has used the same plan.

Bitch, gripe and complaint but never be ashamed of The United States of America!

I (we) have not yet begun to fight!!

Lutheran Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Destruction of the embryo in the mother's womb is a violation of the right to live which God has bestowed upon this nascent life. To raise the question whether we are here concerned already with a human being or not is merely to confuse the issue. The simple fact is that God certainly intended to create a human being and that this nascent human being has been deliberately deprived of his life. And that is nothing but murder.
