My Rule for Life

I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is.

Non Headline News

The following was emailed to me by my good friend and fellow Conservative Mighty Mom over at My Wonderful Life, clik here.  I am posting it as it is most important and should be given much thought and consideration by all Americans.

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency .It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."Author Unknown

Now on with the rest of the non-news.
Long Gun Registration One Step Closer to Law in California
All Americans need to take a good look at this article.  It is another liberal effort in liberal California to limit and control Constitutional rights.  In a state Billions of $$$$ in debt and run by a lame duck impotent RINO governor(and that's his good point!), this state is trying to add more burecaracy and tax burdens to the tax payers.  Is this happening in your state?  Better check.
Another assault and cowardly school board capitulates to the Communist ACLU. The Enfield Connecticut school board refuses to go to battle and allows 2 students and the Communist ACLU.  Once again the minority rules the majority and a liberal judge doesn't know the Constitution has NO  separation of church and state amendment.

Not necessarily non-news but worthy of mention.

Los Angeles schools to indoctrinate students is the headline.  This did hit the news waves for a while but not nearly hard enough. Clik here Schools in general and especially colleges now blatantly disguise indoctrination as education.  It's is happening everywhere.  Is it happening in your schools?  Think not!  Does your school have a Baccalaureate program at graduation this year?  Think again!

From the Jerusalem Press is the article of the rockets red glare.  Sound familiar?  It did in our case and we went/were at war.  Why is it not a  good enough reason for Israel to continue to fight an undeclared war to exterminate their country and people?  Rockets fired from Gaza, clik here.

From the sort of home town, which I love to slam but can't this time.  I remember when this happened.  It was a terrible tragedy and  Reverend Johnannes Christian was blinded most people thought forever. He forgave those who blinded him. This is a GOOD NEWS story and is worthy of reading and pausing a moment for a little reflection on my part and my faith, perhaps yours.  Clik here

Blogging from the patio tonight and the peace and quiet is fantastic.  Fireflies are putting on a show unlike any that mankind can make.  The occasional sound of an owl and rustle of grass in the field just past the yard means something is there.  Most likely a rabbit or perhaps a night stalker of some kind.  The skeeters have left me alone for most of the evening.  The good news is the wind is blowing from the east to the west and the hog farm about a mile away has yet to make is main product noticeable if you get me drift.  So all in all a good day and good evening.  Time to say Thank you God and call it a night.

Hi Pops,

I'm sure you count me in with those without common sense that voted for Obama. But, if you read his thoughtful speech at the University of Michigan commencement given on May 20th (available on the Huffington Post and given in a link to a John Dickerson article in the online edition of Slate today), I think you might find a different person than the one that fits your caricature. How folks can talk of Obama's incompetence after the Administration of George W. Bush is beyond me, but you're entitled to your opinion.

Hi Jeff, FP,

Thanks for stopping by again. I do not categorize people I do not personally know. I am the kind of guy who likes to look into your eyes and read what I see there. It's an old cop habit and hard to lose.

I will take your word that barrack hussein obama's speech was "thoughtful". I am thoughtful to my children and grandchildren etc. I am sure you are thoughtful to people and special persons in your life also.

What I am faulting barrack hussein obama on is his mis-management of the Constitution, the promises made and not kept, the current mess with Arlen Spector and now another "potential" attempt to bribe another congressman to drop out of a race. Remember the "open and transparent" remarks? Time and time again and time again.

He will sit call Police Officers that arrest his friend stupid and then be forced to sit down and talk over a beer. He has to be embarrassed to sit down for 30 minutes with the governor of Arizona about the ILLEGAL immigration problem. Oh please.

I am surprised you have returned to the old "George Bush" cop-out. President Bush may not have been the greatest President however, having said that, I would not use that as a measurement for another President. Isn't there a statute of limitations on the "Blame Bush for it"!

Hey, again thanks for stopping buy. I will try to read the speech but not at the Huffington Post. My computer absolutely refuses to go to the ISP. lol

Mighty Mom is right on.

When we allow complacency, ignorance and just plain stupidity to abound, we end up with the likes of Obama.

I posted a very important Public Service Announcement on my blog tonight.

Glad you are enjoying the patio. I can't sit on mine as we are having a terrific thunder storm right now.

Pops, glad you got to enjoy your porch....we could. But here in Texas we're coming into our second season of the year. You don't know our seasons? I'll share, we have three: 1. Hot 2. Hell, 3. Hotter than Hell. We're at the tail end of season 1 and going into season 2. So we can't sit out on the porch for about 5 more months....but I DID see a few fireflies out there tonight. (Always our first clue season 2 is gonna be short. Sigh)LOL!

As for the news stories.....well, I'm afraid I only went to Mighty Mom's site. And she's SO right!!! As for the others, well, I just didn't want to ruin a perfectly nice Shabbat with bad news. Sorry. Will try to catch the others later in the week. Shabbat Shalom

Good Saturday morning to ya'al and thanks for stopping by. To Jeff, FP,I would bet your computer has a hard time navigating to Glenn Beck.com. Nice to have you aboard.
MRG, Perhaps over the weekend the rain will subside and you can use the patio. I just love the peace and quiet AND the fire flys.

Spitfire, it has taken me about 10 minutes to stop laughing about the 3 seasons of Texas. What can I say, I am still chuckling. Never, never ruin a good Shabbat with bad news. I must try to remember that and perhaps blog only good news on Shabbat/Sabath. Good news might be nice for a change.

Shalom to all,
Pops

Lutheran Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Destruction of the embryo in the mother's womb is a violation of the right to live which God has bestowed upon this nascent life. To raise the question whether we are here concerned already with a human being or not is merely to confuse the issue. The simple fact is that God certainly intended to create a human being and that this nascent human being has been deliberately deprived of his life. And that is nothing but murder.
