My Rule for Life

I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is.

Prayer Request

As most of you know I lost my lovely wife to Cancer nearly 3 years ago.  During her valiant 6 month fight there was one woman who was there for her at every step of the way.  This was my Pastor's wife, Linda.  She visited the house and the hospital and along with Pastor was the first to arrive at the home when my Gretchen passed away.  Approximately 2 months after Gretchen passed away on a Sunday morning Pastor grabbed me as I was entering the church.  He escorted me to a quiet corner of the church and there told me his wife, Linda, had breast cancer.  For the first time in my life I saw fear in a man's eyes.  I knew exactly what he was going through and couldn't help.  He told me he wanted me to be the first before he told the congregation and this has bonded us ever since.

We have talked and I have listened while he and Linda fought the breast cancer with surgery, chemo and radiation.  We thought that through the Grace of God we had it whipped.  Needless to say I was greatly saddened when my good friend and Pastor called early Monday morning to tell me the cancer has spread to Linda's bones.  She has several areas throughout her body where the cancer has been detected.  Prognosis a this time I don't know.  I only know this woman was a rock for me and Gretchen and all the while she was there consoling us the vicious demon was coursing through her body.

These things as we all know are God's will and for what reason it is not for us to question.  For this reason I am asking any and all readers of this post to please pass this along to your friends and please prayer for Linda. She is a most wonderful and good Christian woman as I know that walks the face of this earth.

God Bless you all,

Pops

Pops, I most certainly will pray for Linda and pray for her husband to give him strength.

I would like to ask your prayers for a dear friend of mine. Her name is Nhe Huynh (pronounced Na When), she arrived here in 1982 from a refugee camp in Thailand, along with her husband Thoi (pronounced Toy) and their eight children. Even though she had eight children of her own to raise, Nhe agreed to help me with my three sons from Vietnam. At the time, my boys were 11, 10 & 8 years old. Every day after school, my sons went over to Nhe's house, and she worked with them so that they all could, to this day, still speak, read and write perfect Vietnamese, as well as perfect English. She also taught them how to cook all types of Vietnamese foods. As a result of her hard work, my oldest son, who is now 43 years old, has just started his 22nd year in the U.S. Air Force and is stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam, working as a translator.

Nhe is suffering from end stage liver cancer which has now spread to other organs and her bones. Also, Please pray for her husband Thoi and her children.

God Bless and may you and yours have a very Happy New Year.

MRG,

Is there no family who this wicked, wretched disease has not touched! I certainly will be praying for Nhe Huynh and her family for strength. I will also pass alone your prayers for Pastor Fletcher. It will give him strength knowing you are in his corner. He was my rock when Jacob was in the thick of battle during President Bush's surge.

Blessings,

Pops

Lutheran Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Destruction of the embryo in the mother's womb is a violation of the right to live which God has bestowed upon this nascent life. To raise the question whether we are here concerned already with a human being or not is merely to confuse the issue. The simple fact is that God certainly intended to create a human being and that this nascent human being has been deliberately deprived of his life. And that is nothing but murder.
