My Rule for Life

I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is.

Monday, March, 16,2009.

This is Fayville, right? I’ve logged so many miles and motels/hotels in the past two weeks I am not quite sure where I am. Ah, yes. It must be Fayville as I have a USA Today hanging on the door to my room. Now to start my day with my morning propaganda.

I am going to bypass the AIG stuff as everybody is talking about it and has their opinion. I am going straight to the good stuff. Again citing my source, USA Today March 16, 2009, page 9A, The Forum. By David P. Gushee” distinguished university professor of Christian Ethics at Mercer University and president of Evangelicals for Human Rights”.

Mr. Gushee starts of by saying, “It’s no secret that a group of self-identified centrist of moderate evangelicals built a friendly relationship with Barack Obama and rejected the Christian right’s vilification of him. I am in this group.” Now we know where Mr. Gushee is coming from. Mr. Gushee goes on to cite several reasons why he and his “moderate evangelicals” supported Barack Obama. Among those were, he reached out to us. Well duh, he IS a politician. He promised “transformational leadership” With all due respect. What the H___ is “transformational leadership” that could bridge the culture wars. Some body please define that for me. It’s ok to have a cultural war, a war on poverty, a war on the economy, a war on education, BUT NOT A WAR ON TERRORISM! Somebody please explain that to me. Well duh, he IS a politician. Finally, identification with issues such as torture, climate change (no longer global warming) health care (not promised in the Constitution) and Pro Life. Candidate Obama promised to reduce abortion. Now we get to the nitty gritty.

Pro Life. What does that mean. Pro Life in my book, The Bible, means what God has created.
L I F E. Not embryos, Not fetus, Not the unborn, Life! That happens when a man and a woman come together as God intended and create. Life! Call it what it is, Life regardless of it’s location, inside or outside the womb it is Life and God created it. It is NOT meant to be destroyed by man nor woman. PERIOD!

Mr. Gushee goes on in this rather lengthy article to break down President Obama’s promise to overturn President Bush’s order on funding abortion, the so called Mexico City policy. Then the nomination of Governor and supporter of the murder of the most innocent, the unborn, Kathleen Sebelius as head of Health and Human Services. And, of course, the promise to reduce abortions. Another promise. Words just words. Did I mention at that time he was a politician running for office. Well duh.

Mr. Gushee goes on to be quite intellectual and uses an analogy about getting close to Caesar and forgetting why you wanted to get there to start with to support a moderate position. Well I, in my limited education, would like to cite some ancient mythology. How about Icarus? He is the guy who’s dad made him wings with wax with which he could fly. He flew a little too close to the sun, the wax melted and the rest is history so to speak. RIP, Icarus.

Mr. Gusbee in his final remarks asks President Obama for more than lip service. My question is quite simple. What part of “he’s a politician don’t you understand?” He will say anything to get elected and then lie again. With all due respect to the so called moderated evangelicals failure to stay focused on the Bible and how the Bible examines every aspect of life and how life should be lived is beyond my comprehension. What don’t you understand about what was the most liberal senator in congress and now the President?

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and has feathers like a duck, it just might be a DUCK!

“moderate evangelicals” I think that means not really Christian.

I don't give two shakes of a rat's butt what type of "Christian" they call themselves, if they could be seduced by the likes of Obama, then they weren't very strong in their faith to begin with.

I saw through that piece of fecal matter right from the beginning, his evil was so damn obvious.

Who was it that said something was so stupid only an intellectual would believe it? I think it applies to this "moderate Evangelical".

MRG,

As you may or may not know, I recently left the ELCA of the Lutheran Church. This was the reason. If you are a moderate Evangelical Christian, you ain't a Christian!

Subvet,

Thanks for stopping by. An intellectual. More and more about less and less.

Lutheran Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Destruction of the embryo in the mother's womb is a violation of the right to live which God has bestowed upon this nascent life. To raise the question whether we are here concerned already with a human being or not is merely to confuse the issue. The simple fact is that God certainly intended to create a human being and that this nascent human being has been deliberately deprived of his life. And that is nothing but murder.
