To Nurse or NOT to Nurse. That is NOT the question! To nurse UNCOVERED in public is the question.

A boob is a boob is a breast is a breast. As the article states what appears to be an innocent inquiry turns into a major issue BUT......
Was it an innocent inquiry? I don't know so I will give the benefit of the doubt. Moving on. Nursing in my family is not unusual so I feel I can speak somewhat on this subject.
Question. is it not true that everything a child knows Xxcept nursing is a learned trait? Therefore nursing without a covering up is a learned trait? Therefor the child is training the mother, not the mother training the chiild. This seems to be inherently wrong to me. Question. Isn't an Xxposed breast in our society walking down the street considered unXxceptable? I believer it will get you arrested in most localities. Question. How long and what time was the flight? Could the "Ms." taken a flight that did not fly during din din time for the baby? Or, was the flight so long as not able to NOT feed the baby? Question. Where is dad in all this mess? Why is he not mentioned, no known dad? Question. Could the "Ms" be requested to walk tot he back of the plane where the Stewardess are and nurse the baby out of the view of the general public? Question. Who's really at fault for this complete debacle, the "Ms." or the Airlines or both?
Nursing a child is the most natural aspects of life itself. I don't believe anyone will argue that. To what degree and how is it acceptable in public is the question. Was there an alternative in this situation? I think so. What do you think? Let me know.
My Rule for Life
I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is.

Destruction of the embryo in the mother's womb is a violation of the right to live which God has bestowed upon this nascent life. To raise the question whether we are here concerned already with a human being or not is merely to confuse the issue. The simple fact is that God certainly intended to create a human being and that this nascent human being has been deliberately deprived of his life. And that is nothing but murder.

To give the mom in the story her just due, she DID try to determine what the airline's policy was before boarding. My guess is she aired her ire after feeling she was getting a brushoff. As for my own opinion; Yep, breast feeding is entirely normal. So is picking your nose, farting, belching or scratching your crotch yet we don't like seeing those acts performed in public either. Nor do many folks enjoy some schmuck having an animated phone conversation while dining in public. Don't get me started on PDA's, seeing two people trying to choke one another with their tongue is kind of gross. The point is, there are plenty of otherwise acceptable acts we don't and shouldn't do in public. Breastfeeding is on that list.
Thanks for stopping by Subvet, Hope all is going well for you and the kids this summer and of course the Mighty Mom, She is who to be obeyed!
I'm all for breastfeeding...but I'm also for being discreet. I have to call "bullcrap" on the mom's story that she can't get her child to nurse covered up. There are so many ways to shield the view, and a 10 week old child ain't gotta clue what's covered and what's not.
Does the Bible tell us about how to solve the Millennium math problems?
How to figure out the superstring landscape?
How to resolve global warming (or, if you against the vast majority of the experts believe it's not happening, how to quantify that)?
How to predict how a family will react to bereavement?
How to roll the most optimized character in D&D?
People who believe that the Bible says everything that matters have very limited interests.
