My Rule for Life

I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is.

Enough is Enough

ABNMOMMA
November 30, 1955 - March 30, 2009
On your birthday you are deeply missed by your children, grandchildren, your patients and me.
  I miss you Tiger!

Enough is enough or my subtitle, Get A Pair, Mr President!  I'll let you in on my despicable act at the end of this post.  What I am talking about is this Wikileaks and its CEO, Julian Assange.  Today the leftie newsrag, the New York Times headlined the Wikileaks outing of thousands of classified documents.  As in the past these documents were handed over by an apparent traitor to the United States of America.  Mr. Assange appears to have an ax to grind with our county and apparently our allies.  He continues to put Americans and citizens of our allies in harms way.  The senator who can't make up his mind, Joe Liberman said Sunday, Wikileaks, aka, Julian Assange,  will have blood on their hands.  Hell Joe, I said that at the leaking of the first set of documents!  Get on the band wagon or didn't you have enough polling data at the time.  Mr. Lieberman also said he doubts Wikileaks and Mr. Assange are terrorists. In the strict sense of the word he made be true.  Since he is not a  US citizen, thank goodness, he cannot be held responsible for his acts by our county.  BUT, the T R A I T O R, who supplied the documents can and should be held accountable, tried, convicted and justly sentenced to the fullest extent of the law!

Having said that, the big discussion on the news this evening and most of the day appears to be barrack hussien obama's response or lack there of.  This is the 3rd leak and  B O can't seem to comment about it let alone do something about it.  It appears he has forgotten Mo Kadafy and President Reagan's little bomb run. That would have and was a excellent example for B O to follow.  He must not read history books in law school.  He might try the Teddy Roosevelt, "walk softly and carry a big stick".  B O's been walking softly now is the time to use the damn stick!  I have full faith and confidence in the Central Intelligence Agency that they know the whereabouts of Mr. Assange and have the necessary skills (drugs or whatever) to see that Mr Assange sleeps with the fishes, and soon.  This is easily arranged by a Presidential order.  B O doesn't have a problem using Presidential orders to circumvent congressional vetting of his czars.  He certainly shouldn't have a problem offing an enemy of the state! Then again we are back to the pair he doesn't seem to have.

The bottom line to this is folks this action or lack of action by B O makes the United States and the Office of the President of the United States look impotent.  And, if B O doesn't take some kind of strong positive action and soon this impotence image will only continue. Soon Iran, North Korea, Cuba and the rest of the minor little countries will follow suit. The bottom line is act now Mr. President,
Get a pair and act now!

Now about me.  I have become part of the problem and not part of the cure and am truly ashamed.  Here is what happened.  On black Friday I was driving to work.  It was in the 30's here in the Midwest.  On my way to work is a stretch of highway about 2 miles long with absolutely nothing but fields on both sides.  It is between two subdivisions. Now black Friday is a very important and busy day even at The Home Depot.  And I, am a very important employee and really need to get there on time and begin my job.  As I am going past this long stretch of highway I see what appears to be 3 people walking. My best guess is a mother, teen daughter and little one, perhaps 3 or 4 years old.  As I drive by the little one gets picked up by "mom".  Now the closest place these people could be going is a shopping center about a mile up the road.  I thought of stopping of and offering them a ride.  It was cold and it was a little one.  But as I drove I convinced myself, A: I could get hurt by picking them up, B: they wouldn't ride with me as they would be afraid of me, C: they might use the cell phone to call the police saying I tried to abduct them, and D: Oh my, it's black Friday and I have to get to work because I am important.  Needless to say I went to work and didn't offer the ride.  Where in the world have I gotten so callous as to not try to help my fellow man.  Am I under control of the PC crowd where an old man, grandfather of 7 can, but doesn't offer a ride to a mother and her children on a cold day. Good Lord, what in the world have I let these people and this society make me into!  It was truly a black Friday for me as I have felt like a bag of dog dirt ever since. No matter how hard I try can never make it up.  It is so sad.

As I read your Black Friday story, I felt sad...not only for you, but for all of us who realize our moral fiber is evaporating. Not by choice. How nice it would be to go back to the 'good old days', when we lived in a less self-absorbed, less defensive, more trusting place. We were busy working, with our hands. We wanted to help each other, because it felt right...no reservations.
Sadly... our world has changed. As I recall, it was with the intent of being for the best. Somewhere along the way, our train jumped off the tracks of caring for others and jumped on to the tracks of selfishness.
Please, oh please...don't take my comments as personal jab at you. My comment is every bit about me, for I would have behaved just as you. There was a time, I would go out of my way to help anyone in need...now, I do so in a safe manner. Perhaps this is one reason, I support our Troops as I do. I know they are protecting me, my freedoms and our nation. I can safely give back...safely, oh what a sad word.
I've rambled long enough...
I wish you well and do hope you find peace after writing these words. You have done nothing wrong...you are simply a product of the world we have created.

AM,

Thank you for your support of the post and your continued support of our troops. I must respectfully disagree with you. I have done something wrong. I have let myself be manipulated by someone other than my God.

The Wiki leaks are a necessary and wonderful thing...soldiers be damned. And you are right about feeling bad about not helping your fellow citizens on black friday...I would have stopped. What does that tell you?

ABNPOPPA said...

Well Jake, I must take you at your word on stopping. Jolly good for you. You comment "soldiers be damned" strikes at the very heart of my family as I have a son who served with Honor and is an Iraq war veteran. My adopted son is also an Iraq war veteran and continues to serve. With that said I am going to respectfully ask you not to leave comments any more. It seems to me you must personally attack someone who disagrees with you. If you would like to leave comment without personal attacks we would welcome them.

Wasn't it Shakespeare who wrote, "First, kill all the Lawyers" ??? IMO, that's a HUGE part of our problem in this culture; that, & our refusal to accept personal responsibility for our actions; oh, & toss greed in there, too... We have become such a litigious society, that everyone is fearful first, willing to 'go out on a limb' for their neighbor only second to that.

As for your 'mistake': perhaps it's an opportunity to allow the weight of conviction to rest on our heart - in order to prompt us to another action...? Peter denied his Lord not once, not twice, but 3 times...and was so covered by Grace that he became the foundation upon which the Holy Spirit built the Church.

Wow.

Breathe. Wait. Listen. You will have another opportunity.

Susannah,

Shakespeare,I had heard or thought of that for quite a while. Yes, we have become a litigious society and yes, some have lost all respect. For others and themselves. Respect and responsibility are two keystones of a solid Christian foundation. I truly hope I get another chance.

Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words.

G-d Bless,

Pops, first let me wish a belated Happy Birthday to ABNMOMMA.

Second, don't be so hard on yourself about not stopping to offer a ride to the mom and two kids. The world has turned upside down to the point that it is difficult to know who to trust any more. I hate to say it, but in this day and age, the most innocent looking can be the most dangerous. I hate myself for having to say that, but after all the truth is the truth.

Third: I am beginning to think that the reason Obama has remained silent about the leaks is because just maybe he likes the fact that the leaks happened. After all, he has shown his disdain for America.

Pops (may I call you that?)~ I am convinced that you'll be offered another opportunity! And RevG is right ~ don't be too hard on yourself. One must be cautious, after all.

RevG, "After all, he has shown his disdain for America."
yep.

Susannah,

Of course you can call me Pops! I am not sure too many people know my real name anyway. I certainly hope I will get another opportunity but I sure missed that one.

G-d Bless, and thanks for stopping back.

Hey Dear One. Could I offer a different perspective? Yes, you left the woman and kids and drove on...but did you feel your heart telling you to stop? Or are the PC thought police urging you to do what you "should" do? Could it also be that Papa sent this episode to point out to you that there was a more perfect way He has for you walk? Many times I've done things of a similar nature that I felt so horrible about, until Papa told me He used it to speak to my heart. So before you kick yourself too hard, listen to your heart. If there's peace in your heart when you see someone and contemplate stopping, you know Papa's telling you to stop. But if you feel apprehension, it's the PC Thought Police trying to coerce you. You, my dear, are a wonderful, loving, kind and considerate man....and Papa loves you dearly for being what He's called you to be. And I'm SO proud to call you friend. Shalom, Spitfire

Lutheran Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Destruction of the embryo in the mother's womb is a violation of the right to live which God has bestowed upon this nascent life. To raise the question whether we are here concerned already with a human being or not is merely to confuse the issue. The simple fact is that God certainly intended to create a human being and that this nascent human being has been deliberately deprived of his life. And that is nothing but murder.
