I awoke this morning with a bounce in my step and a smile on my face. Then......... I turned on the news.
Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal misspoke* about his Vietnam service. I cannot print the epitaphs that spewed from my mouth. I am truly embarrassed at my language. Having said that and ask for forgiveness as far as I am concerned this man should immediately be sanction by the Democrat Party and forced to withdraw as a candidate. He should immediately resign the position of Attorney General of Connecticut as that position above all is a position where truth and honesty are foremost!
To desecrate the honor and memories of the brave men and women who fought and died in Vietnam is unconscionable and vile. To excuse this shameless effort of trying to align himself with our honored military warriors this man has shown he has no morals or character. He has tarnish what ever reputation he may have had in the Marine Corp Reserves. Like John Murtha should have been and unfortunately was not, he should be striped of his rank, any benefits and be discharged dishonorably. Never again be allowed to use his name or that of the Honored Marine Corp in the same sentence. Like the old Pharaoh in The Ten Commandments when Moses was sent into the desert, his name should be stricken from all rolls and never mentioned again! He is a slug and lower than fish feces, IMHO.

Connecticut wake up!!!
Well gee whiz how could that happen? Congress has been spending money that wasn't there for years. They have added more bells and bangles to Social Security since it's inception than Jimmy Carter has peanuts! But that OK. The Social Security trust funds have built a $2.5 trillion surplus over the past 25 years. But the federal government has borrowed that money over the years to spend on other programs. The government must now start borrowing money from public debt markets — adding to annual budget deficits — to repay Social Security. Can you say Obama Care.
According to Sen. Herb Kohl, chairman of the committee, said small "tweaks" are all that is needed to bolster Social Security's finances for future generations of retirees. These simple minded morons have been tweaking it for years, just to get more votes. What are those tweaks Senator Kohl is talking about?
How about:
Reduced annual cost-of-living increases 1 percentage point each year. Social Security recipients get annual increases based on inflation.(Little hint, no inflation, no increase, year 2010 no inflation, no increase)
Taxing all wages, not just those below $106,800, (Little hint #2 TAX INCREASE!)
Gradually increased the age when retirees qualify for full benefits from 67 to 68 (Morbid but, more of us will die and less will have to be paid out)
I have a novel idea. Why not quit spending money you don't have. Why not go back to the original idea of Social Security and CUT OUT THE HORSE MANURE!
Here is Question 4 direct from the Social Security Online web site;
Q4: Is it true that Social Security was originally just a retirement program?
A: Yes. Under the 1935 law, what we now think of as Social Security only paid retirement benefits to the primary worker. A 1939 change in the law added survivors benefits and benefits for the retiree's spouse and children. In 1956 disability benefits were added.
Let's just try to go back to the original idea.
HOT OFF THE PRESS: Rand Paul declared winner in Kentucky, Clik here.
I have one other little tidbit of info you all have heard by now BUT.......Can you believe the Attorney General of the United States, Eric Holder and the Director of Homeland Security and former Governor of Arizona have in recent days admitted they have NOT read the Arizona Immigration Law. Both are on record of demeaning it. How sorry is that. What a sad, sad state of affairs.
One more late breaking bit of news. Can you believe this! barrack hussein obama threw his pastor of 20+ years under the bus!!! That's not what I said that's what the Rev. said. Catch the full story here.
Now maybe I can get some sleep, oh pooh! 'nother news flash,
A good defeat in Pennsylvania, Arlen Spector, bites the dust. That's good news for Ohio as there is a lot of fallout from that in the eastern part of the state. Clik on CNN

A good victory in Pa, the stronger Democratic candidate for the Fall wins. Specter shows some class in defeat, quoting Popeye he says, "I am what I am!" How can you hate a politician who quotes that sage Popeye (I know you are all Bluto fans on this site-- just kidding).
Also, the victory of the Democrat Mark Kritz in John Murtha's PA seat is not such happy tidings for the GOP, (the District went for McCain in 2008, after going for Kerry in 2004, this swing district has swung back to the Democrats).
Finally, the stronger and more moderate of the two Democrats Jack Conway is facing Rand Paul in KY, I'll admit you have the advantage over Democrats here, but Paul is a weaker candidate than Trey Grayson would be in the General Election. Paul, also receives a single cheer from progressives because of his support of cutting agricultural subsidies to corporate farmers and his stance on cutting back on Pentagon spending (you conservatives need to read the fine print on Paul, you may not find him so much to your liking).
All in all not a bad night for Democrats (I'm neutral on the Blanche Lincoln contest in Arkansas given the conservative nature of her state), if you folks care to hear how the other side views the election results.
Jeff, FP,

Imagine that guy lying about service to his country? They should take away his chance to run. It's one thing to promise the moon to constituents, lying as they ALL do, but this????
Well, it's like Obama saying he didn't know Ayers and BOY, DID HE...
and they still voted for a liar..go figure. :-(
Not sure the Rand Paul thing is good or bad........have to think more on that.
Regarding Social Security, I can respect the fact that the people on this site are con-Obama, but he cannot be solely to blame for the SS mess. I stumbled on the following link that was written in 2005 and Obama wasn't President then. Collectively, President GHWB, and President WJC and President GWB all dipped in the pot. http://money.cnn.com/2005/03/23/retirement/2005_trusteesreport/
I have already accepted the fact that there will be no SS when I retire. My future is in my own hands.

Hi Z,
I am not approving or supporting Rand Paul. It just popped up as I was doing my post. Time will tell, I believe personal/public disgrace is the only way to solve the lying in Congress and with most politicians. The Reps had one of their own the other day also.
Steve,
I have re-read my post and in no place do I see where I placed blame on barrack hussein obama. Not to antagonize you however, why do liberals always go backward and place the blame on someone else. Why not move forward and I quote:
I have a novel idea. Why not quit spending money you don't have. Why not go back to the original idea of Social Security and CUT OUT THE HORSE MANURE!
Try to solve the problem, not place the blame. That does no one any good.
I do really appreciate you stopping by. I think I am beginning to wear you down. I have till November to save your voting soul. lol.

Pops, dear sweetie. Now you know why Mom told you to eat your veggies first..it makes the rest of dinner like dessert. Same with the news. Talk to Papa first, read His love letter to you, then worry about whatever is the alert dejure. It will make the whole day more like dessert....with much less of a bitter after taste. Giggle.
I think it's safe to say we're rapidly becoming 'like in the days of Noach.' Maranantha! And Shabbat Shalom Dear Friend.
