My Rule for Life

I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is.

Below is a copy of the email I sent to the General Chairman, David A. Burns, In the Spirit of the Fourth, Committee of Bristol, Rhode Island 4th of July parade. The email is self-explanatory.

Dear Sir,

It is being reported on the Glen Beck Radio Program that your committee did not allow a float in the FOURTH OF JULY parade because they were handing out copies of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. It is also being reported they were not allowed to wear traditional native American dress, nor have a PA system, nor hand out symbolic Tea Bags.
Would you please take a minute to respond to this allegation? This request will be posted on my blog
Conservative Also be advised your response will also be posted. At Conservative Outrage we like to post both sides of and issue and let the readers decide.

I heard about that on the Glenn Beck Show yesterday and I posted the complete transcript on the Resist Net website. I think that such a thing stinks to high heavens. True American Patriots are becoming Persona Non Grata in our own country.

Pops, I am now of the belief that the vast majority of Americans just don't give a damn what happens any more, so therefor, America is done for, over, Kaput! And we might as well accept it. I don't see any way of saving the country if the citizens don't give a crap.

With all due respect sir, and I quote with gusto,

"we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender,

Pops, I have nothing against fighting, but we have nobody willing to back us up, then what is the use, we will be fighting a losing battle.

Even if, by the grace of Almighty God, we were to win, the apathetic citizens will only destroy what we win, in short order.

I want America to survive, but if the majority of citizens don't care about what is happening to them, then just What Kind of Country Will We Have?

I know people don't care, I can tell that just from results I see on my blog, that is why I am seriously thinking about ending my blog after tomorrows posting. All I have been doing is preaching to the choir and even some of the choir members don't really care or they just don't have the backbone or spiritual strength to do what needs to be done. If people don't care, then I am wasting my time. I have a lot of other things to keep me busy. I will fight on my own and when America finally collapses, I will know that I did what I could and whatever happens to me, I will be in God's hands.

I'm glad you're fact-checking Glenn Beck.

Great post Pops! How dare they refuse to allow patriots to have their float in the parade!? Unlike Father Gregori, times like this is when my red hair starts standing on end.....Mr. O has already gotten several emails from me. Likewise my Senators, Representatives and Pelosi and Reid. They may think the Tea Parties are a joke, but I'm hearing the rumble of a middle class explosion coming. Keep up the fight Pops! You too, Father, you aren't alone. There's a bunch of us working quietly behind the scenes!!! Papa's still got work for America to do...mark my words! Shalom, Spitfire
PS. Pops, I tagged you over at my blog as being a great blog. Just thought I'd warn you....grin.

i am so sad to read rev. response. It pains me to think that someone like him would just give up so easily and not really see what is really happening. Don't you want to hear" well done thy good and faithful servent" in the end. Nothing we do is in vain and God is always worth our time. "Glory be to God in the highest and peace to his people in earth." Leisty ( still haven't figured out the password)Philippians 1:6 "Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of jesus christ"

To Anonymous, I never said that I was giving up. I will continue to fight until the end. But I will have to fight on my own in my own way, because the vast majority of Conservatives today are just too clueless, apathetic and complacent, and they lack the will and courage to rise up and do what needs to be done.
Yes, we should put our trust and faith in God, but God would also like us to stand up and help ourselves a little bit.

As a brief follow-up to the original post this Saturday night July 18,2009 and I have yet to receive a response from my request.

This does not bode well for Mr. Burns. I am going to resend my request for a response.

Lutheran Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Destruction of the embryo in the mother's womb is a violation of the right to live which God has bestowed upon this nascent life. To raise the question whether we are here concerned already with a human being or not is merely to confuse the issue. The simple fact is that God certainly intended to create a human being and that this nascent human being has been deliberately deprived of his life. And that is nothing but murder.
