I Had a Thought

I had a thought (yes, I know that's had to believe) today. Actually I had several. However, one kept coming back to me throughout the course of the day. With all the talk of the Tea Party and the Evangelical Christians swinging the vote to Newt in South Carolina and swinging the vote to Santorum in Iowa. Just what is a Christian? What do they believe in that other non-evangelical Americans do not. I was watching one of the talk shows the other day and the "talking head" said the Tea Party and the Evangelical Christians were willing to "roll the dice" on Newt and lose the 2012 elections to BHO. One thing for sure, I don't think Christians gamble so therefore the "talking head" doesn't understand Christians or he's talking out his.........

But really, who are the Tea Party and Evangelical Christians that are voting for Newt and also casting votes for Santorum? What makes them different and why? Finally, just what do they stand for?

I don't know if I would qualify as a formal Tea Partyer (is that a word?) or as an Evangelical Christian. I do know I was raised in a Christian (Lutheran) church. We left the Lutheran church several years ago when it became too liberal. I now attend Greencastle Bible Church, clik here for more info and recorded sermons. (Little advertisement for the good Pastor Flesher.) I just know what I believe in. I sum it up like this.

I believe in God, Guns and Family (pro life). You can add to that small government and a strong defense. My question to you and your friends is: If you consider yourself a Tea Partyer, or an Evangelical Christian or just plan Christian just what do you believe in? I would really like to know. If you would be so kind I would ask you to pass this around to your friends and see if they will answer. If I get enough responses I'll re-post this with everybody's thoughts.

Coalesce? Coalesce? What in the world does that mean. If you have been watching or listening to the news lately you could not have missed the "talking heads" using this word. Now me, I'm just a country boy from the farm and ain't had much fetchin' ups 'ceptun public schools. That was back in the day after slate and one room school houses. But, before the liberals took over and you can't play dodge ball, bring your huntin' shotgun to school so you can hunt after school and you need to get a permission slip from little Susie to steal a peck on the cheek the last day of school. Having said all that my teachers did teach me to ask questions and how to look up a word I didn't know in the Websters Dictionary. Today I just used Dictionary . Com, although I still have a Websters Dictionary in my office.

Gentlemen keep the good fight going. Keep hammering at one another. Blisters from hard work cause callouses to form and the body becomes tough and more able to take the punishment.. I am reminded of a line from the movie The Ten Commandments . It went something like this, the metal must be tempered before it become the hardened steel. The candidates of the Republican party must be tempered before the winner takes on the worst President this great nation has ever had.

Onward to Florida! Let the best man (for our country) win!

Well It Ain't Romney!

I guess it's time for me to wade in the the Republican Presidential campaign. Not that I really am a Republican. I quite calling myself that years ago. I call myself a CCCC or 4C. All that stands for is Christian Constitutional Conservative Capitalist. I gave up on the Republicans after I gave up on the Independents after I gave up on Democrats which really wasn't a big deal in my world. The key is I haven't given up. I haven't given up on the United States of America which I believe many people have. Having a little experience of what it's like to live in a 3rd world country and having a son who is an Iraqi war veteran I would like to think that gives me a little creditability when I make the statement, "this is the best country in the world in which to live."

The big question that is facing America and the Republican party is not will BHO become a one term President? The big question is will more people who actually work for a living get off their arses and vote than the people who vote for a living. That is the real question! The secondary question is if they do that will they unite under on banner and vote against BHO and for America. Or, will they put their personal feelings first and split the Republican party which is the only way out of the BHO mess. I have not made up my mind yet but I have decided on whom I do not want as a candidate. This list includes but is not limited to:

Donald Trump

John Huntsman

Ron Paul

Chris Christy, a couple of these guys are playing the ego game. Namely Trump, Huntsman, Paul and Christy. None of them stand a chance of beating BHO which it the name of the game yet they continue to try to garner headlines, fill their pocketbooks and garner headlines like they are viable candidates regardless of what they say.

It was bittersweet to see Michelle Bachmann drop out of the race as she appears to be a fine woman and a Conservative. She did do the right thing though as she accepted the facts and knew she would only disrupt the system if she continued. Mr. Huntsman should do the same thing, in my humble opinion of course.

Mr. Santorum certainly jumped up and was noticed this week. He is represented as a "true" Conservative but is noted for "pork barrel" money. I have a problem with that on one hand. Then he was elected to represent the state of Pennsylvania in the best manner he could. Federal money to Pennsylvania is a good thing..............if you live in Pennsylvania................and it's money from the other 49 states. He's for repealing Obamacare but I'm not sure of his plan. On his web site I like his "core spending principles" I didn't see anything that said Social Security would be touched or untouched. At my age that is a concern however, for my grandchildren it is a major concern they can't do anything about.

Mr. Gingrich according to darn near everyone appears to be the most intelligent of all the candidates. He has experience in Washington which will be needed to manipulate the maze the next President will need to navigate undoing Obamacare, regaining the American credibility overseas not only with our allies but with our enemies. America has always dealt from a position of strength not the cowardice and bowing shown by BHO. I like his "Day One Plan" Many of these issues are sorely needed and needed immediately. On the other hand Mr. Gingrich was a Washingtonian for many years. Is there a likelihood he will return to the old ways of politics. He has been out of Washington for a reasonable of time. As regards to his personal life. It's not a record to brag about. Then again to quote a very famous verse, "let those among you without sin cast the first stone".

I liked Herman Cain unfortunately he either was not squeaky clean as it seemed and foolish to think a 13 year affair would not be discovered. Or, and that's a big or it truly was too much pressure on his family and he put them first. I don't have the facts and I won't make a judgement. It reality just how much do we really know about any of these candidates? How much do we really know about our own neighbors once the door goes closed at night?

Mr. Romney, now there's an interesting man. Let's see. I am a billionaire and self made at that. Actually that is a good thing as he at least held a job outside of government and knows what hard work is. I was a Republican governor of a super liberal state. I was beat last time and I have been campaigning ever since. Hmmm. I raised taxes in my state, according to BHO my mandatory state health plan was the model for Obamacare, I supported woman's rights and not the rights of the unborn. All the liberal news organizations want me to be the Republican nominee.

My daddy had a saying that went something like "a leopard can't change its spots". That keeps coming to my mind. My daddy was a pretty smart man if I do say so myself. One other thing that is bothering me is who is supporting Mr. Romney, Let's see,

Former President G H W Bush

Nikki Haley

Christine O’Donnell

Former Sen. Judd Gregg of New Hampshire

Former Sen. Mel Martinez

Sen. John McCain (Ariz.).

The list goes on and on. I would point out all of theses save Nikki Haley are old school Republicans. Several are out of office or you might say unelected. Former Senator Judd Gregg is another Nor eastern liberal who helped with the TARP program and we all know how well that worked out. A couple let's just say are no longer dealing with a full deck due to age or disease as much as I respect them and the service they gave to our country in their prime. So what's in it for them. Power people just plain and simple POWER.

This post is not meant to meant to endorse any specific candidate only to explain why Mr. Romney will not get my vote when the time comes for me to go to the voting booth. The last thing America needs is a RINO for President after BHO.

As everyone else is posting a happy new year or what happened in 2011 I have decided to forgo the usual tradition and go straight to the heart of America. Actually I don't go directly to it I am in total and complete agreement of a woman I don't even know. She goes directly to the heart of America. Her name is Froma Harrop and she is an editorial writer for Creators Syndicate. I seldom read our Columbus Dispatch liberal rag let alone spend a dollar for it however, I came across a copy the other day while eating breakfast and just happened to read her article.

The title of the article," Middle class aided it own decline". is what grabbed my attention. Why? I have been saying that for the last 20 years. I have told my family and friends and children and anyone else who would listen middle class America has been writing a check it's ass can't cash. Bigger homes than necessary, bigger cars than necessary, more TV's in the house than Bibles. My personal belief is more TV's have led to the breakdown of the middle class family unit. I also believe they have greatly contributed to the "me" generation since it's not necessary to learn to share or compromise. I have 8 grandchildren. One household has two children in it. There are 3 X Boxes in the home and 4 TV's. I'm not happy with the situation by I can't control a 40 year old parent. However...........I believe this is typical as I hear from the young people I work with all the time their houses are similar.

Ms. Harrop names such things are young girls at the mall who are more interested in showing cleavage than Barbie dolls, who in my opinion, show too much cleavage to start with. She points out how the over indulgence of keeping ahead of the Jones has caused the housing bubble and many other interesting tidbits that shows middle America blew it themselves! You can't blame this on Bush.

Prayer Request

As most of you know I lost my lovely wife to Cancer nearly 3 years ago. During her valiant 6 month fight there was one woman who was there for her at every step of the way. This was my Pastor's wife, Linda. She visited the house and the hospital and along with Pastor was the first to arrive at the home when my Gretchen passed away. Approximately 2 months after Gretchen passed away on a Sunday morning Pastor grabbed me as I was entering the church. He escorted me to a quiet corner of the church and there told me his wife, Linda, had breast cancer. For the first time in my life I saw fear in a man's eyes. I knew exactly what he was going through and couldn't help. He told me he wanted me to be the first before he told the congregation and this has bonded us ever since.

We have talked and I have listened while he and Linda fought the breast cancer with surgery, chemo and radiation. We thought that through the Grace of God we had it whipped. Needless to say I was greatly saddened when my good friend and Pastor called early Monday morning to tell me the cancer has spread to Linda's bones. She has several areas throughout her body where the cancer has been detected. Prognosis a this time I don't know. I only know this woman was a rock for me and Gretchen and all the while she was there consoling us the vicious demon was coursing through her body.

These things as we all know are God's will and for what reason it is not for us to question. For this reason I am asking any and all readers of this post to please pass this along to your friends and please prayer for Linda.She is a most wonderful and good Christian woman as I know that walks the face of this earth.

Is the Christmas Spirit DEAD!

My apologies to anyone who has stopped by for the last couple weeks expecting something profound however.....I went back to the hospital for a week due to an infection in my incision.

Is the Christmas Spirit DEAD? I sometimes wonder. I drive down the road at night and see blow up snowmen, Santa Claus' and Snoopy. Would someone please tell me what in the world Snoopy has to do with the birth of Christ. I have read the story and find no mention of a dog anywhere in it. I went for some frozen yogurt this evening and was as close as I want to be in an accident. The drive of the other vehicle was left of center by about 1/2 a car and just glared at me like it would have been my fault. I have decried the lack of Nativity scenes in not only the Home Depot where I work but at other major retail outlets. I have cited the number of plain decorated houses vs the number of Nativity scenes in the front yards. The plain houses outnumber by about 25 to 1.

Even in the shopping malls and stores where people are supposed to be purchasing gifts to represent the give giving of the Wise me to the baby Jesus there is pushing and shoving, rudeness and downright hostility towards their fellow man. I watch the news or read the paper and there is some atheist trying to have the Nativity Scene removed from some public square or right of way. Pardon my french by if you don't believe in God why the hell to you care! I call on the phone to a company for something and after 10 prompts get a real person who may or may not answer my question. They end the conversation with Happy Holidays. I say BS and tell them Merry Christmas! After all it is or at least one time about the birth of God's Holy Son, Jesus Christ.........wasn't it? I just don't understand anymore. Perhaps I am just getting old, Is the Christmas Spirit DEAD?

The More Things Change........

Nineteen hundred and forty-one, a brilliant genius and General was able to perceive this. A deficiency in our country's educational process. How is it this deficiency has been allowed to last and prosper for so many years? When did Conservatism loose control? The very building blocks of our Great Society are founded on God and Country. Now, the only place you can mention God is in the country outside the listening ears of the liberals that haunt so many of our large metropolitan cities. God is being removed from the schools, the public buildings, the government offices and the National Day of Prayer has been removed from the Whitehouse and replaced with a Muslim prayer rug. We have a President who not only refuses to place his hand over his heart when the National Anthem is played but only wears a flag emblem when it fits his political path.

We have laws against homosexual marriage but same sex marriage is condoned in several states in the United States. Laws have been and are being passed to the extent that a minister, pastor, rabbi or preacher can't preach the Bible without the fear of being arrested for preaching a so called "hate crime" Where did we loose control? We have "holiday trees instead of Christmas trees. We have winter school break instead of a Christmas break. Try finding a Nativity Scene for your yard at Walmart, Lowes, The Home Depot. Drive through your neighborhood and count the number of yard decorations VS the number of Nativity Scenes. I'll bet you it is 10 to 1, easy. I personally refuse to buy from any store that sets up Christmas displays before November which is still too early. Yes, it limits my choices but it's my choice!

I personally am fed up with this complete mess. I have started bringing the true meaning of Christmas back to my house. No more bunches of presents from Santa Claus, no more spending a fortune on junk for the grandkids. On Christmas eve we read a blended story of the birth of Christ taken from the Gospels and exchange one gift in honor and remembrance of the Birth. Then the little ones are off to bed and most of the adults attend a service at a local church.

I understand it is hard to do, stand up and be counted however, the next time you are in a store and a manager asks you how it's going tell them you really would like to keep Christmas in December and the meaning of it in the store.

I'm all through preaching now.

Obamacare, PLEASE, Give me More!

Needless to say I've been AWOL (Absent With Out Leave) for those of you in Loma Linda, for a while. Hopefully for me and what's left of my followers I am back. The last 6 months have been both trying and fulfilling in the spiritual, emotional and physical ways. Today, Sunday morning I am hope recuperating from what was to be a 30 minute in and out the same day surgery. It took two and one half hours and I didn't want to leave the Recovery Room. Seems 30 minutes to wake up turned into 4 hours and breathing tubes and a bunch of other stuff I am glad not to remember from what the anesthesiologists tells me. The good news for me is through the Grace of God and some good doctors I am still here to tell my story about OBAMACRARE!

My Obamacare story

It all started last month when I had my monthly check-up for cholesterol. My Doctor gives me two prescription slips instead of the usual one. Now we all now, Enquiring minds want to know, so I ask. Ah....what's this? Well, the long and short of the conversation is, the normal "combo" drug I take for my cholesterol is no longer available after November 1. Seems one of the drugs in it has a 5% higher rate of causing something else in my system. So no more "combo" drug. Now I have two "scripts instead of one and of course I could be 5% less likely to get something else I might get. Make sense to me.

Only one little problem. I get my scripts mail order. I just went from one to two scripts. I just went from $50.00 copay to $100.00 copay per 3 months. As they say in NASCAR, "Do the math Darrel". I just went from $200.00 per year $400.00 per year in Copays. Now ya'al help me out but....but... but didn't my health care cost just go UP by $200.00? Some liberal, Obama supporter, please get back to me on this as I thought my health care was going to go down under this program.

BUT WAIT! Like any good commercial there's more, much, much more!!

Last month I went to the drug store to pick up a cheap generic script that normally cost me 80 cents for 30 days. That's right an old drug that cost me 80 cents. My good friend Janet took me to the drug store after getting out of the hospital since I can't drive to get a re-fill and this month guess what! It now has a $10.00 Copay! Now admittedly I get a 3 month supply for my $10.00 and not a paltry 30 day supply for 80 cents. So I seem to have saved here by only one trip every 3 months to the drug store. And since it is sooo far away, like less than a mile, I might actually break even on this deal.

Oh please give me more Obamacare. I can't stand the thought of not saving all this money! Folks if I didn't hurt so bad right now I'd cry.

I would also like to add a little footnote. Now is time to be vetting our Conservative Presidential candidates. This does not mean for the candidates to make personal attacks on each other. I am very saddened by the personal attacks that Ms. Bachman and Mr. Gingrich have be doing since the last Republican debate. If you support either one of these candidates let them know this is wrong. Now is the time for them to tell us, the American people, how they plan to fix this mess. Calling each other liars and harping on TV with year old documents that may or may not lead to a problem being solved is ineffectual and only gives the liberals ammunition for the upcoming Presidential election.

This is not to say I am or am not supporting either of these candidates. Frankly I haven't made up my mind.

Defending Obama

Conservative Outrage was started because of my being sick and tired of the Republican Party that I at one time endorsed. Years ago I quite calling myself a Republican, I was 30 something at the time. I began calling myself a Constitutional Conservative. I morphed into a Christian Constitutional Conservative. My basis was my God comes before my politics and my God In the Bible) teaches me moderation, compassion and respect, ie: Conservatism.

Why the lead in to this post? Because my posts have been as about anti Obama as they can be. I have now been forced reluctantly, I might add, to come to the defense of President Obama. On the ride to work I heard a story on Glenn Beck citing a rapper and a Harvard Professor declaring President Obama the world's biggest terrorist. This is just flat wrong. BHO may be a Socialist, Communist, Stalinist or whatever but he is not a Terrorist!

The rapper, Lupe Fiasco stated and referenced a Communist, Howard Zin, that war was an act of terror. That bombing an act of war killed people. BHO is not only the President of The United States but also the Commander in Chief. Therefore as the Commander in Chief he is the world's biggest Terrorist. Now as I have said, I don't like BHO. Having said that he has reluctantly (my opinion) continued to defend the citizens of the greatest country in the world, The United States of America.

Profession Cornell West then applauds the rapper,Lupe Fiasco. This is a man in the position of teaching our, or least someones children. Princeton University should be ashamed of this. I don't wish to shut these two left wing voices as that is: Freedom of Speech. That is exactly what I am doing here and now. I do condemn the University and the board of the university for allowing this type of rhetoric in the classroom.

Thus having defend BHO against this moronic and completely absurd accusation I continue to say BHO is the worst President this country has had in my lifetime . He needs removed and I refer to my previous post. Seal Team 6 eliminated on threat to America, it is now up to the Tea Party, all Conservatives, Constitutional and Republican voters to remove the 2nd threat, BHO!

9-11 Why?

I went to church tonight on 9-11 with not really a thought about it. It seemed the right thing to do in remembrance of the victims and their families. That probably doesn't sound very well for me however, for the past week the tragedy has been everywhere. On the news, in the papers, on the radio and the constant talk. One famous retail outlet has even started a marketing program around it. I might add I think this is atrocious however, this is the Home of the Free (to do what you want) and this sick company is doing so. But, on to going to church.

I went in with little on my mind just going through the motions so to speak. Horrible of me I know but, at least I was there. Pastor began with prayer and then cited some stats. Some were; we took more causalities at Normandy, we took more causalities at Gettysburg, the Japanese took more at Hiroshima, more at the Holocaust, and don't forget Chairman Mao or Joseph Stalin, they murder in the millions. The most chilling was we take more unborn lives nearly every day than we took on 9-11. Needless to say I sat up and paid attention. How could a civilized country forget about the unborn?

Then he went to, why. Why would my/our God allow this to happen. Is He not a just God, a God of Peace unlike the god Allah of the Muslim religion? Our sign is the Cross, that our Savior died on for us. The Muslim sign .......a sword. A weapon to kill those who will not convert. Why would my God allow not only 9-1 but other tragedies like this to happen. He then referred to a little read Book of the Bible, Habakkuk. In my Bible it has 3 Chapters and takes up about two full pages. Not very big and notably not very well know I would think. Habakkuk, short, sweet and to the point. Ask yourself why and think about this.

Chapter 1

²O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!

   3Why  dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for  spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife  and contention. 

  4Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment  doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous;  therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.

Is this the way you feel about America and 9-11 today? Is this the way you felt about Katrina and the Japanese tsunami? Did you ask yourself, Why God? Why do all these horrible things have to happen to good people. I have and I must admit until tonight I had no answer only the question. Pastor then went to verse 5.

⁵Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvelously: for I will work a work in your days which ye will not believe, though it be told you.

My God is at work and has a plan. It is only up to me to believe in Him. It is not for me to question. It is not for me to understand. Yes, I may at some time see the reason but it may not be in this life time. Pastor then went on to Chapter 2 verse 1.

1I will stand upon my watch, and set me  upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what  I shall answer when I am reproved. 

That's all I have to do. Then finally Chapter 2:3,

3For the vision is yet for an appointed  time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait  for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. 

How do Christians understand......we don't. It is best said this way:

 Romans 1:17
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith; as it is written: "The just shall live by faith." (underscore is mine)

God, please bless America not only on this day but every day though out the year.

BUMPER STICKER

On my way to work this day I had a young fellow driving a pickup truck pass me. I drive slow so that wasn't a big deal. In his back window he had an ARMY VET sticker. Being an old Veteran myself I sometimes drive by the younger ones and toss them a salute. Just kind of a Thank you which they so justly deserve. As I pulled closer to the truck I notice a bumper sticker with some pretty small print. Finally after some careful driving I got close enough to read it. The first word in BIG letters which had caught my attention was "HAPPINESS". As I got real close I could read the rest. It said:

is a belt fed weapon!

Got side by side, he looked over and I gave my salute and had just enough time to smile and make the exit.
It certainly made my day.

Now he has slighted the largest Veteran Association in America! This spineless cowardly son-of-a-_____(you fill in your word). Does not deserve another day in the office of the Commander in Chief! He has just turned his back on my Grandfather, WWI, my father, WWII, and my son, Iraq. He no longer deserves any respect as the Commander in Chief, American or a man!

You Can Run.....but, You Can't Hide....Forever

It is Done!

I woke this morning to my cell phone vibrating and making a racket that means someone has text me. It's 0630 and my day off. I look, it's Jacob! This early in the morning it call only be bad news. I put on my glasses and take about 30 seconds for my eyes to focus and read the words, "Binn Laden is dead" It takes me another minute or so to get my bearings and read again. "Binn Laden is dead". I text back WTF? Jacob then tells me that Navy Seals got him in Pakistan. During the coarse of the next 20 minutes of back and forth texting a flood of emotions go through me and my son, still the warrior he was trained to be. He says he feels it is complete now. I say maybe, just maybe he and his buddies can put the horrible memory of war in a box in their mind and put it on the shelf. I pray to God that they can. For them, Binn Laden may be dead but the memories of war will last forever. Hopefully just not as frequently nor as strong.

I've been relatively quite about the alleged budget cuts that were being debated for the past few weeks in Congress now, it is time to speak out. This is truly a Conservative Outrage! The word capitulate means:

to give up resistance: He finally capitulated and agreed to do the job my way

That is exactly what John Boehner and the majority of Republicans did on Friday night. Surrendered and gave up! Many of those in the House of Representatives were elected on the mantra of cutting the budget! They were not elected on cutting one tenth of one percent of the budget! It is unfortunate for America and our children and grandchildren many of the old school members of congress and some of the newly elected members of congress didn't seems to get the message of the 2010 elections. When the American public says "cut spending" and you say you will, you will get their support. When you get elected and don't "cut spending" you will get their boot. This means you will be a one term Congressman or Congresswoman. For those of you who don't remember what happens to someone who says one thing and does another, "read my lips no new taxes"! One term President, George Herbert Walker said that and he was, a one term President.

“The deal that was reached Friday night is a disappointment for millions of Americans who expected $100 billion in cuts, and who wanted to make sure their tax dollars stopped flowing to the nation’s largest abortion provider, (Planned Parenthood) and who wanted us to defund ObamaCare,” Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn.) said in a statement.

The first sham of this "I'll scratch your back you scratch mine" is that anything was accomplished. According to Neil Cavuto at FOX NEWS and his staff there are 13 steps that must be taken, in order, for this pathetic facade to take place. The reported 72 hour posting of new bills has been shortened to three days. Accordingly this sham of a bill could be posted at 2359 hours on Tuesday night and voted on at 0001 Thursday. That's just the beginning. It seems to me that Congress is doing a lot of their work late at night, or under the cover of darkness.

The key words in this article are "long enough". This is no more than another CR, aka, Continuing Resolution. How many is it now, three or four in the past months, I actually have lost track. From Real Clear Politics,
"Because of the need to put the compromise into legislative form, Congressional leaders said the House and Senate would vote overnight to pass a stopgap measure financing the government through Thursday to prevent any break in the flow of federal dollars. The actual budget compromise would be considered sometime next week."*
Further capitulation of the Leadership of the Republican party is echoed in this statement from Real Clear Politics, " Although both sides compromised, Republicans were able to force significant spending concessions from Democrats in exchange for putting to rest some of the vexing social policy fights that had held up the agreement."* What's another word or words for compromise, Capitulate, give up and give in! Finally, one last snippet from Real Clear Politics,"In the closed-door Republican session, according to people present in the room, Mr. Boehner described the plan as the best deal he could wring from Democrats..." *

I am so sick and tired of hearing about shutting down the government I am about to upchuck The soldiers will get paid and any fool of a Congressman/woman who would vote against that would be committing political sewercide. That is exactly where this piece of crap belongs, in the sewer! I have had the opportunity to sit and talk with many an old soldier and quite a few young ones. You can sleep well tonight because soldiers, unlike politicians, do their job regardless of pay. They do it for a cause, Freedom, Honor, Duty and Faith that living in the greatest country on Earth is worth putting your life on the line. God Bless these young and older soldiers for their service, regardless of the almighty dollar!

It took me a few minutes to recall this little tidbit of information I am forwarding to Speaker Boehner however, I feel since he has been so, so busy with Harry, the hunchback, Reid it may have slipped his mind. Since he seems to think Billion is a small number then he certainly wouldn't and shouldn't mind taking a small piece of change from Brazil and giving it back to the hard working Americans here in the United States. I am referring to the 2 Billion President Obama has promise to give to Brazil to drill for oil. The Wall Street Journal of August 9,2009 reports Brazil is getting 2 Billion US dollars to drill for oil and it's not even in US waters. Thank you very much Brazil, I'll take my money back and give it to American drillers instead. Now there is another 2 Billion you can cut and make the sham $40 to $41 Billion. With a Federal budget nearing 15 Trillion American dollars and the country borrowing more money every day to just pay the interest to China and other countries don't you think $38 or $39 Billion of the promise $100 Billion, is just absolutely ridiculous! It is my hope that every newly elected member who considers him/herself a Tea Party Congressman/woman will vote against this paltry and insulting spending cut.

That's how I feel today, vindicated. Regarding my post last week of "No Fly, No Sh__!" For those who may have read and thought I was out of my mind. You needed to catch the O'Reilly Factor on Thursday night. Lt. Col. Hunt emphatically agrees the United States of America has military on the ground in Lybia. His expert opinion is supported by Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer on FOX NEWS last Friday morning.

Now if that's not enough intelligent guessing for you how about the words "slippery slope". Here we go again. Politicians running a kinetic military action" and our brave warriors will have to pay the price in blood and guts. I for one am sick and tired of these so called experts sitting on their arses in the White House getting our warriors killed for politics. It's not about war, it's not about oil, it's not about land or even a humanitarian effort. It's about POWER! Them that have it and them that want it. It's pretty darn clear BHO wants to be king of the world along with George Soros at his side. Soros doesn't believe there is a God and BHO believes in Allah and the forty virgins so a God fearing Judao-Christian country like the United States must be taken down at all costs.

Well George I would love to be there when you find out there is a God and as for BHO well.....I'd love to be there when he finds out the forty virgins are all men like himself!

My Daddy always said, "Boy, (he was fond of calling me boy, I think maybe he forgot my name once in a while) flys only buzz around sugar and horse sh__ (manure) and you ain't sweet! That is exactly my point. Are we to believe an Administration who has lied repeatedly to the American public for the past two years. How about we just use a little ol' good common horse sense. Here's my case for "Horse Sense"!

Japan has an earthquake. Japan has a Tsunami. Japan started WWII in secret, (Is Japan really telling the truth? Does a leopard change it's spots?) Japan has nuclear plants with problems. The prevailing winds on earth blow West to East. The United States is to the East of Japan.* The administration of BHO, POTUS, says we have nothing to worry about. **(+)

Some recent lies and mis-statements of BHO, POTUS, are:

BHO, I'll buy a new pair of shoes and walk the picket line with my union brothers and sisters. Missed him in Wisconsin.
BHO, I'll close Gitmo in a year if you elect me POTUS. Last time I checked Gitmo was still open.
BHO, Obamacare will reduce premiums for the American consumer. Again, last time I checked my premium for health insurance went up. BHO, I will not rest until this crisis is resolved, POTUS said that about the Gulf oil spill, the Wisconsin protests, and the budget crisis. Today BHO is in Brazil with his wife, children and MIL. Can you say, V A C A T I O N?
BHO, And, my personal favorite, I am sending the Vice POTUS to Congress to help settle the budget problem. Where is Joe "bite my tongue" Biden today?

Now on with the concern of oil and gas. Since BHO has taken over as POTUS gas prices in this country have risen by 37 percent. CNN, (known in some circles as Clintion News Network) has a very interesting by a well known writer Roland Martin. In the article Mr. Martin who's political leanings are aligned with that of CNN's, flatly states POTUS is out in left field on this one! I should point out that Mr. Maring has in the past defended American Blacks against the left. Most notably Michael Steele, previous head of the Republican party and others against those who would say and said they were "Uncle Toms". On a personal note I find Mr. Martin a very interesting and intriguing writer who is somewhat "Fair and Balanced".

Pertaining to the rise in oil and gas White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said other factors, like whether there's a "major disruption in the flow of oil," will have to be considered (before releasing our reserves). "It's an option we are considering. But there are a number of factors that go into it, and it is not price-based alone," Carney said. "I wouldn't look to a price threshold." COMMENT: My G-d man, what do you need $5.00 a gallon gas! I would also remind readers POTUS is on record as supporting $5.00 gas before he became POTUS. I have seen the video and am searching for it to post. This will drive Americans to buy more "green" cars he says. Does Chevy Volt, aka GM bailout sound somewhat strange now? Follow the bouncing ball people.

Once again, POTUS has show his complete lack of the ability to make a decision. Going clear back to taking Federal Funds or not taking Federal Funds for the campaign, until he found his union bosses would spend millions in his behalf, up to the point of make no decisions regarding his good friend and fellow dictator MOOMAR KADAFFY he simply can not make a decision. The unfortunate result of his inability to make decisions is the rising price of gas in the Untied States. This as most liberals don't understand or admit to is hurting the very people he and the liberal democrats say they support, the poor and downtrodden. Middle class Americans may not like spending $4 and $5 for gas however, they will adjust. The poor like some of my wife's patients living on meager Social Security checks will have to make major decisions. Some of these decisions may be life threatening. Whether to by much needed medicine or food to survive. Does the words "death panel" come to mind.

So as a friend of mine told me last week regarding a personal issue, "Man up" BHO, or as my father was so fond of saying, Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way!

By the way this middle class semi retiree has made two pledges this year. One is to NOT observe Meatless Monday. I vow to eat some type of meat every Monday this year. The second is NOT to do fast food more than once a month. So far so good on both. You see I have made an adjustment regarding the rising cost of gas. I pray for those who do not have that opportunity.

I used to be a Republican. Years ago I changed that to a Constitutional Conservative. I know Democrats, Independents, and a few non-believers too! I am just about....well never mind about that. Who is right 6 Billion or 60 Billion dollars both amounts are chump change!! It's 1% or .06% of the WHOLE national budget. As far as I'm concerned both parties need a boot in the butt right out of Washington DC. We, the American public are smart enough to see this as "same ol' politics as usual". This is pure BS! Quit FREAKING spending, period! Ever heard of freeze!!!!!! Nothing gets any more now that it has in the past!

And to those of you who may be sports fans I want to go on record to say I never was a Jim Tressel fan and for all practical and intents purpose am not a big fan of college football. IMHO if I were President G Gordon Gee of the Ohio State University I would have called Mr. Tressel in and given him the opportunity to sign one of two letters. One says, I'm fired. The second one says I resigned. Don't let the door hit you in the butt Jim.
Since Mr. Gee didn't have the intestinal fortitude to do that, I am calling on Mr. Tressel to do the honorable thing, FALL ON YOUR SWORD! Save some face for the Ohio State University!

       Was there any doubt, when the largest oil catastrophe happened in the Gulf of Mexico, the community organizer shut down the other oil producing wells and put thousands of Americans out of work and with Middle East turmoil causing gasoline to rise by 13% in the last 30 days, and the community organizer has failed to allow the drilling to begin again in the Gulf of Mexico, the United States was in for a rough time. Was there any doubt?
       Was there any doubt, when the community organizer picked the son of the late Mayor of Chicago Richard Daily for a Chief of staff and sent him to unions meetings to spiel the community organizer's support of the unions with mass third world country style rallies, the United States was in for a rough time. Was there any doubt?

       IS there any doubt this community organizer's actions and patterns of government or the lack there of is incompetent, narcissistic, incapable, inadequate and maladroit.

The oath of the Office of the President of the United States says, "

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

No where in that oath that says anything about being competent, so sad. However, the Constitution says:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Note, there is nothing in this that says anything remotely about segregation of the American people, it's most simplistic form says

We the People, a perfect Union, common defence, Blessings of Liberty to ourselves, and our Posterity.

Is there any doubt the community organizer has failed to uphold The Oath of Office to the entirety of the citizens of The United States of America! Is there any doubt?

Scott Walker, a Republican, of unleashing "an assault" on unions by pressing legislation that would end collective bargaining rights for public employees and sharply increase their health care and pension payments.( Franklin County Employees pay 10% of their salary, I know, I was one!)

"Some of what I've heard (my underline)coming out of Wisconsin, where you're just making it harder for public employees to collectively bargain generally seems like more of an assault on unions," Obama told WTMJ-TV in a White House interview Wednesday. "And I think it's very important for us to understand that public employees, they're our neighbors, they're our friends."*

Once again you admittedly don't have all the facts. Mr. President, do us all a favor, please. Stay the hell out of state and local politics. You've already nearly ruined the federal government. Is your memory so short you don't remember Sgt. Crowley and your friend Mr. Gates at the famous White House Beer Summit? **

The Jester and the Joke

I have recently been very critical of barrack hussein obama. It has not been without just cause. He has dropped the pretense of “going to the middle” ala President William Jefferson Clinton. He has reached the point where, IMHO, his narcissism has completely consumed him, his wife, his inner circle and those like him. Mayor Bloomberg of New York comes to mind along with Nancy Pelosi. barrack hussein obama and the rest have literally left the reservation of common sense, intelligence and intellect.. Mayor Bloomberg wants to control the fat content in a Whopper and Me Shell, my bell, wants to develop food oasis’s and control the portions of food served in restaurants.

These comments are supported by BHO’s total and complete lack of following the advice of his so called Budget Panel. When the alleged panel of experts was convened at the cost of who knows to the tax payers it, like the bank bailouts, the car bailouts, the money for clunkers , the money for refrigerators, it was the plan to follow regarding the deficit.

The wise men of this panel of experts advised on raising taxes and cutting from nearly all programs. This included the Entitlements, ie;” Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. Soon to be a recipient of a couple of these programs, personally I was not thrilled., until I saw the waste and unnecessary elements in and of these programs.* In order to pass “obamacare” BH0 thought nothing of whacking 500 million dollars from Medicare. That in part, is how the term “death panels” began. More people, baby boomers, less money, less care, = more deaths at a younger age, Now he refuses to touch Medicare because it doesn’t fit into his budget.

It is time to draw a line in the sand. Shut down the government! Pay our bills and quit spending our grandchildren’s money. We simply cannot continue to go down this path. We don’t need demonstrations in the streets. We all, and that includes you need to contact your Congressman and both Senators. Tell them to stop spending or like the ones un-elected in 2010 they will be un-elected in 2012 or at their next election should they be a Senator.. No more deficit ceilings to be raised and no more spending more than we take in. The past government, Congress, the Senate and BHO spent $.22 per $1.00 more than the country took in! That’s is not called a balanced budget. And while you have them on the phone ask them why they have not submitted a Balanced Budget Bill. You might suggest they think about their term limit at the next election. And one more thing, pass this along to everyone you know. Get fired up and get vocal. The Silent Majority must not be silent any more!

Can You Say Domino?

Before we address the Middle East an area of equal concern is the budget here in the United States. All kinds of deals and and doles are being bantered about. The 2010 Tea Party and Republican candidates pledged $100Billion in cuts. That didn't set well with some old hat Republicans but, certainly resonated with the American public in general. About a week ago the number of $32Billion in Federal spending cuts was being mention. Apparently the old guard Republicans had not got the message at election time. Various news talking heads are now reporting cuts of $100Billion again.

Ways to save our children's and grand children's American life style with budget cutting have been all over the board. Cut this program, cut that program. Now barrack hussein obama is proposing freezing federal wages earners wages. Not exempting them from a COLA but just no more hourly/annual salary increases. Of course promotional increases will be allowed. The Republicans mentioned cutting money from the schools and barrack hussein obama proposes cutting Pell Grants to the point them may as well do away with them. Some people think foreign aid is a good place to cut. I have a novel idea. Why not for the next 18 months just cut

EVERYTHING BY 10% !

I know that sounds simplistic however, sometimes the simplest way is also the easiest way. Each department head knows his/her department the best and should know where the waste is. They get the big $$$$ to make the call, NOW let them do it. If Congress can't come up with a 10 year reduction balanced budget plan by then. GUESS WHAT? Vote 'em out. Just like 2010. Now by doing that it would give our ladies and gentlemen in Congress time to focus on programs that really are not needed. The Arts comes to mind for me. I got a thing about paying some guy to put a crucifix in an jar of urine and my tax dollars pay for it. Let Nancy Pelosi pay him since she likes the arts so much!

I heard it mentioned many years ago. I believe it was the 1960's, the words "Domino Affect". Then we were referring to the fall of Saigon and the country of Vietnam. Today, February 14,2011 we are referring to the Middle East. In the 60's we know what happened when Saigon fell. The Khmere Rogue followed and thousands lost their lives. Today a similar scenario exists. It is simply called the Middle East. To outline all of this in a blog would in my opinion be too long. How did a reportedly “American” organization such as Code Pink become involved in this protest Seems to me maybe some Federal Government organization needs to be looking into Code Pink. One must ask what is in it for Code Pink? Why are they protesting there?

LEAD, FOLLOW or GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY!

My dad was known for having an old saying for just about everything. Growing up, oh my, I hated it. Do something wrong and he wouldn't criticize he would just respond with an old saying. Do something right, the old saying was accompanied with a pat on the back. It encouraged you to do more right things than wrong. As most of us know the older we get the wiser our parents get. Funny how that works out. Reminds me of the time my son, Jacob, came home after basic training and told me how smart I had gotten in 3 short months. I believe I told that to my dad too!

Anyway, a couple of old sayings popped into pop's head after hearing a story on FOX news about an Imam that had been captured after crossing the Mexican/United States border last month. Usually I hammer the Obama people for the total and complete lack of border security. I surely don't want to forget Jannie, the borders better today than before, Napolitano but.....I gotta throw the hammer at President George W also. None of these people have done anything but talk, talk, talk, about border security. To me that is very disturbing. Check out this article about the Imam and how he made it into the US of A. Oh yes, the sayings, one was as my father would have put it, "for God's sake boy do something even if it's wrong"! The second one that came to mind went something like this, "do something boy, lead, follow, or get the hell out of my way"! My father wasn't a bashful kind of man as you may have come to guess. On occasion my mother would just cringe and quietly advise me not to do some of the things "your father does". Although at the time she probably thought that was good advice I am sure she would say now she is glad my father set a good example for me.

In October of 2006 President Bush signed "The Border Security Act".* It was to authorize the building of 700 miles of security fence on our southern border. This was just a political move to try and appease those living in the southwest and those who support law and order in the country. It was a joke then and is now. Mathematically the 700 miles of fence fails to cover half of the 2000 + mile Mexican/US border. Walk to the end of the fence and go around. According to Senator John McCain's Presidential campaign ad only 500 miles of the fence has been constructed and that is spotty. Complete the damn fence John or get out of the way of someone who will. Come to think of it. Perhaps Congress and the Senate ought to build the danged fence. At least they would be doing something for their pay. They sure aren't now!

President Obama's plan to send 1200 troops to the border is just as weak!** Do the math Barack, 2000 miles of border, 1200 troops, 24 hours in a day, hmmm, doesn't seem to look like much to me. Then again, I'm just an old country boy who learned simple math in a public school when public schools actually TAUGHT children to do math. Two plus two in my book still comes up four although my concept may be wrong.

So folks where do we go from here ? I think I may have an answer. I do believe middle America has just about had it with politicians and the Mary do gooders and the John McCains up to their necks. This has been represented by the Tea Parties, the last elections, the states suing the Feds over Obamacare and also in the decline of unions. Joe and Janet Citizen are standing up and making noise or as my father would say, "the squeaky wheel gets the grease boy". First Obamacare and now Congressman Ed Royce is proposing a bill much like the Arizona Immigration law in the House of Representatives. The somewhat startling news is he may have enough votes to get it to the Senate. Let's hope he does and let's see what the 100 prima donnas in the Senate have to say about illegal immigration. Now if we can just get that danged fence, all 2000+ miles of it built!

Can It Happen Here!

Thanks to a good Physical Therapist and a little hard work on my part I am able to take my arm out of my compound sling and type. It's a good thing too! For the past week I have been sidelined by this surgery and unable to post and frankly it was causing me great distress. That's the good/bad news. Being unable to post it gave me time to absorb and digest all that has been going on in the middle east. Of course Egypt is tantamount in every one's mind BUT, take this one step farther. Can this type of revolution happen in the Untied States?

Look at the totality of the situation in Egypt. A country of 80+million, mostly Muslim. According to the IMF, International Monetary Fund the Egyptian unemployment rate is 9.2% for 2010.* Lower than that of the United States until this mornings somewhat suspicious 9% number was reported. I discount the average income as $2.00 per week as the price of gas is $.35/liter, average electric bill is $55.00/monthly and a bus pass is $.27/one way local. The average net salary is $267 per month.**

Admittedly I don't have all the figures Ambassador John Bolton may have at his command. The question remains.Can this happen here! There have been supportive demonstrations in several major US cities this past week. Now CNN is reporting other anti US government organizations are holding rallies not in support of Egypt but to start to fuel the fire in The United States.

A country that has been a dictatorship (?) but relatively stable for the past 30 years is set off by no more than 250,000 people. That is the most I have heard reported on both left and right wing TV stations. The call for the million man march failed to produce any more than the original 250K, again out of a country with an 80M+ population. Have I missed something in my morning physical therapy sessions? I don't believe so.

So, what caused the problem. Are you telling me one afternoon 250,000 Egyptian people were all sitting around the diner table and decided to riot in the streets the next day? Who, is and was responsible for this? Are you telling me all these printed sign in English and Arabic just appeared? Who, is and was responsible for this? It appears to me all the major networks including FOX and MSNBC are missing something. Call me crazy but I think it's a fair question.

This morning, Saturday, February 5, the news is talking about the domino effect. Unrest in other countries next to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and the Sudan. Our own President is calling for the removal of President Mubarak. Yet he and his cronies work diligently to replace the very democratic government we live under with a Socialistic/Marxist government that he leads with a few of his elite. Where is this coming from? Where is this going to? I fear not for myself but, for my children and grand children.

Now the Obama administration is pointing fingers at the Intelligence Community, specifically the Central Intelligence Agency blaming them for the lack of adequate intelligence. Supported by Diana Feinstein and others in questioning yesterday of CIA officials. However it was quickly pointed out by Stephanie O'Sullivan, of the CIA, the administration was notified in late 2010 of the unrest in Egypt. It's the Obama blame game all over again. clik here

My journey begins. On the 13th of this month I had Rotator Cuff surgery. Today I am on the way to Florida from the Midwest for 3 weeks of Physical Therapy. My arm in a sling and toting a small bag I was dropped off at the airport by a good friend. I should state I haven’t flown in 20 years. This is to be an experience. Being a good trooper like my son, I packed lite. I booked my flight over the computer and had only a piece of paper to show I was to go on a flight. Walk in, give the paper to the ticket agent, there was only one person in front of me. Yes, sir , may I help you, Thank you sir, gate A4. He points me towards the dreaded TSA agents. Oh please help me!

For all the bad hype on the TSA people I HAVE to say my experience with them was a pleasant experience. Either it was because I am old, fat and ugly and no one want to frisk me or perhaps because my arm is in a sling +. It was yes, no sir, and may I help you sir. For all the recent hype about TSA I found my experience pleasant.

Bloging at 40,000 feet and at about 360 MPH! This so cool for someone who hasn’t flown in years. Especially a professional people watcher. For those of you who have flown you might as well turn the page cause this is likely to go on and on and on. I need to get out more!

I am currently at the ascribe altitude and speed and typing for this post on my blog. I seem to have forgotten how blue God’s sky is or how white the pillow looking clouds can be. Even with the whine of the jet’s engines there is a stillness and even a quietness that seems indescribable at least to this Neanderthal. Surely when one takes time to reflect on this magnificent creation called Earth they must realize there is some Greater Power. I had planed to go on however allow me this. I am just going to sit back, relax and take all His majestic creation in.

It doesn't take long for the true colors of some politicians to show. Some, it seems follow the Rahm, (Rambo) Emanuel philosophy of "never let a crisis go to waste". Congressman Robert Brady, clik here seems to be a scholar student of Rahm. Go to the head of the class Mr. Brady!

Congressman Brady was just on the news (FOX) and stated he plans to introduce a bill in Congress making it a Federal Crime to say anything bad about a federally elected official. The Congressman states it is illegal to threaten POTUS, ere go, it should be illegal, a federal crime, to threaten all federal officials. That makes perfect sense. Since we have one and only one, POTUS, we should elevate all federal officials to that level. In other words, what we need in this county are 400+ more people who think they are KINGS! I'm on board for that. Four hundred plus morons who can't figure out if you spend more $$$ than you take in and borrow more $$$ than you can pay back, YOU WILL GO BROKE!

Congressman, let me clue you into to something. You are trying to make political hay on the tragedy of the shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. You si,r are a perfect ASS! (my apologies to those this offends). I saw your interview and never once did you do anything but posture and repeat you "bullseye, crosshairs" talking point. Did you once ask for prayers for the good representative or for the families of the dead or injured?

Right now in my kitchen where Iblog this I am thinking and saying some very bad things about you. Charge me you godless moron! Take me to jail for thinking this country would be better without you and those like you. Charge me you moron! Let me clue you into to some history. The reason the Civil Rights Movement was successful was partially because the black community and the white community banded together for a common cause that was right and just. Today they band together for a common cause again. It's to rid Washington DC of despicable people such as you! Voting you out of office is the common cause. One other slight issue you might want to think about from out of the Civil Rights Movement. Why it was successful. There were more people for it than could be put in jail and prosecuted. Call us THE TEA PARTY.

A book by that name would make interesting reading were it not so close to being an actuality in real life, right now. Written by a man who single handely failed to pay his own tax bill and then blamed it on poor bookkeeping. A man who with only a little help from barrack hussein obama has all ready run up more debt in two years than the entire country did since its beginning. A man who, ah hell, you get the drift. Timothy Geithner is calling on Congress to raise America's debt ceiling. Why? To be able to borrow more money! Mr. Geithner states that failure to raise the debt ceiling could cost millions of American jobs. He further states if Congress doesn't raise the debt ceiling The United States will not be able to borrow more money to make payments on the money we have all ready borrowed. Now me,.... I'm just an a good ol' boy from the farmland of Ohio but,.........it don't seem quite right to me to borrow more money to pay for the money you all ready borrowed. I'm a thinking at some point there's gonna be no one to lend you money to pay off the money that you have all ready borrowed from them. Does that make sense?

According to US Government Spending.com and statistics compiled by Christopher Chantrill not since the war years of 1944 through 1949 has the US debt been at 90% or more of the GDP. Clik here for the web site to support these facts. You may want to book mark that page as it has some darn good facts on it. A little deep for me but I know one thing. If I spend more than I make, at some point I'm going to run out of money. At the rate Mr. Geithner and the Democrats are trying to spend our grandchildren's money we will be out of money before our grandchildren reach working age!

Everybody is citing the November elections so I guess I will too. The average American citizen is scared to death. Not of war, not of famine, not of flame or flood. They are scared to death of losing everything they have worked or are working for now. Sadly some all ready have lost their homes. Some families have lost their jobs and some have lost their pride. This current administration has got to be held accountable and those recently elected had better learn that and learn it fast! Compromise is not a word to be used when dealing with this administration. Dig your heels in Mr. Boehner and hold your ground. If not, you and those voted in this past election will be voted out and the process will go on and on and on until "we the people" vote in politicians that make the fundamental changes Americans are crying out for.

No raising the debt ceiling! No more bailouts! No more compromises! I say:

Let the chips fall where they may!

Is Nothing Sacred?

Ever have one of those nights where you wake up and can't get back to sleep no matter how hard you try? Well, I did. Tonight/today, is one of them. In bed by 10:00PM and wide awake by 3:00AM, AND I CAN'T GET BACK TO SLEEP! I have tried everything I know, cup of Sleepy Time Tea, watching infomercials on the tube and finally my best but last resort, lying on the floor in front of the wood stove like the cat. Ain't nothing working. The result, Greg Gutfeld on FOX and t his post.

I am not normally a watcher of Mr. Gutfeld, I like to be sleeping when his "Red Eye" show is on. However, tonight was, of course the exception. Mr. Gutfeld and his guests were discussing a Doritos commercial that was apparently to be played during the Super Bowl. Since it hasn't happened yet, the Super Bowl, this commercial hasn't played and may not be. So why the controversy? Somehow the commercial that didn't make the cut made it to the airways and the airways on FOX have made it news.

I invite you to watch the FOX News people discuss this commercial. Oh yes, why are they discussing it on FOX News? Well, apparently it uses the Holy Communion as a selling point for Doritos. Clik here, watch the discussion and see what you think. Then come back here for my response. About 10 lines down. No cheating, I don't want to influence you.

So I lied, its only six lines down. Personally I just quit eating Doritos, PERIOD! I am sick and tired of being singled out because I believe in God and hold certain ideas and traditions sacred, Holy Communion is one of them. I am writing to Frito Lay, the parent company of Doritos at this address, clik here, and explaining my small but symbolic protest of their tasteless commercial. I wish you would do the same and pass this on to your friends and family. I know of a Senior in college that has more class than the marketing people at Doritos. His name is Andy Dalton and you can read about him in my previous post. He, unlike Doritos/Frito Lays, is a real class act!

There is Hope!! Double exclamation point!! Why? Because "there is hope" How do I know? Quite simple, I watched The Rose Bowl football game today. Follow me for a minute. I don't really like college football and seldom watch it. Today being New Years Day if you don't watch football you got stuck with a Dog the Bounty Hunter marathon or Mythbusters Marathon. Neither favorites in this house ergo, The Rose Bowl.

This to say the least was a challenge for me. Watch, surf, watch, surf, watch, surf, oh, this was getting bad. Finally about 4 minutes to go and Wisconsin marches down the field to score. TCU, Texas Christian University, for those of you in Loma Linda, has a 2 point lead. Wisconsin goes for the 2 point conversion and misses. Yea! TCU, Texas Christian University, for those of you in Loma Linda. (just in case they didn't get it the first time) TCU gets the ball on an on side kick and runs out the clock. TCU wins.

As I said I am not a college football fan. OK, why the "Hope". Quite simply, actually, it's not because Texas Christian University, a Christian college won. It's what happened after the win. As usual the moron sideline sports interviewers were hounding the players for sound bites. Hey, put this in perspective, you just won the Rose Bowl. Hey, how does it feel to win the Rose Bowl. What did you think about blah, blah blah.

Finally one of them interview the TCU quarterback, Andy Dalton. He says a couple of sentences and then says, "like the Bible says in 1st Peter......". He then quotes the verse. On national TV! A spontaneous Biblical utterance by a Senior in college. I thought the interviewer was going to pass out. The look on his face was, PRICELESS. So folks today a small Christian college beat a Big Ten football team fair and square in a Nationally televised prestigious bowl game and the MVP, quarterback, Andy Dalton, quoted the Bible. Yes, there is Hope. It was just proven. God Bless us all.

A Merry Conservative Christmas to You All

It's been 3 weeks since I posted as you may have noticed. It's not for the lack of subject matter. Actually it's being overwhelmed with Conservative subject matter. First you have the Republicans capitulating to the likes of Harry Reid and barrack hussein obama on just about everything except a trillion $ budget. DATA, comes to mind. Talk about not thinking this one through! Holy Mercy! START (?). Should be named STOP!!! in the name of all that is Holy. Give away American safety and security for the promise to be good. Gee when was the last time the Russians lied to us! And to top it off, John Boehner decides to leave WDC early to work on his tan and doesn't vote on the last bill in the House. Along with about 130 other worthless pieces of dog poo! What in the world is wrong with these people. Have they forgot November all ready!

That's OK, B O is working on his tan in Hawaii with the rest of his family for the next two weeks. Hopefully he won't do too much damage while swimming in the blue surf.. Can you say Rip Tide. (Opps is that the Secret Service knocking on my door).

Like I said overwhelming. Schools sending permission slips home so the kids can say the Pledge of Allegiance. If that isn't good enough the Pledge may be re-worded to omit the words, "under God". Please tell me it ain't so. We had a local radio Pastor who ask people to put a Cross by their Nativity Scene to show the Birth of Christ was the beginning of our Salvation and the Cross was Christians receiving the Salvation. Sad part of it was people wanted to do it but couldn't find only a few stores that sold and outside Nativity Scene. Even The Home Depot only had small shelf type ones for sale. But by golly they had plenty of Santa stuff. Elves, Snowmen, Clowns, and just about everything else. The list goes on and on and on and on. Just call me a cynical old man. I still believe a man's word and works is his binding honor. It's a damn shame the world doesn't operate that way anymore. It's all about the $$$$. It's not about the birth of Jesus. So Sad

Why Term Limits, Why Not, Why Now!

Admittedly I do not know Congressman Charlie Rangel. I know only of him through the news. I've never been to his district in New York. Undoubtedly he is well liked. He has spent the last 40 years representing the people of his district well enough to get himself re-elected. Over, and over and over and over again. That in itself does not necessarily make him a good representative, only a good politician. He began his political career in 1971 at the rate of $42,500 per year* He and the rest of the Congressmen and women currently are paid $174,000 per year plus benefits above and well beyond what the average American receives. A very healthy sum what ever year your wish to align your salary with. Although this is not meant to be a pick on Congressman Rangel it does cause me to wonder why we have so many millionaires in Congress. I don't know who said it however, the saying goes something like this. When does a politician's campaign for re-election start? The day after he wins the election.

That should say something to all of us. Do we want our elected officials interviewing for a job that may be two, four, or six years away? I don't. I want them there working on the problems of the country, their state and their district. Do you really think George Washington, Abe Lincoln, Winston Churchill really gave a damn about getting re-elected. I think not. They cared. They cared about their country, the people in the country and the future of the country. I have heard George Washington had to mortgage his farm just to have the money to get to Philadelphia for his inauguration. I am sure some historian can verify or refute that. But, if true the point is sacrifice for the good of country not for the good of getting re-elected (aka good of yourself).

Let me go back to Congressman Rangel for a moment. I wish my good friend Elizabeth would read this as she is a counselor and a professional. She would (might) be able to make an unofficial clinical decision as to whether Congressman Rangel is in denial. I think he might be but I am just a commoner. I am reminded of the pictures of the late Senator Strom Thurmond and the late Senator Robert Byrd in their last days in Congress. They were pushed onto the floor of Congress by aides in wheelchairs. When they spoke it was quite sad as you (I) could tell they were a mere shell of themselves. The fire and power and strength they once had was faded and gone. I wondered at the time if they even knew what was going on. What really concerned me was did they even know what they were voting on. Congressman Rangel is 80 and appears in pretty good health. Senator Thurmond was in his 90's I believe, as was Senator Byrd. I am not advocating a mandatory retirement age. I do feel that we all reach an age where we are better off to turn over the reigns and sit back relax and enjoy the young people making mistakes. Just as we did and they will do. It's called learning. Sometimes easy, sometimes hard, nonetheless, learning.

We must push our elected officials now to enact term limits on the Senate and the Congress. It's good enough for the President, thank goodness, and it's good enough for Congress.While main stream America has the eyes and ears of the current Congress would this not be a good time to push for term limits? Personally I think 12 years is plenty. A true American would be allowed to serve 6 Congressional terms or 2 Senate terms. No more, pick your poison. You want to be a Congressman fine, you want to be a Senator that's fine too but, 12 years service period! Oh yes, your salary. How about the average of what the American blue collar guy makes. That's about $45,000. The real median earnings of men who worked full time, year-round climbed between 2006 and 2007, from $43,460 to $45,113.* How do these guys/gals become millionaires?

Just some food for thought on this desperate and dateless Saturday night.

Enough is enough or my subtitle, Get A Pair, Mr President! I'll let you in on my despicable act at the end of this post. What I am talking about is this Wikileaks and its CEO, Julian Assange. Today the leftie newsrag, the New York Times headlined the Wikileaks outing of thousands of classified documents. As in the past these documents were handed over by an apparent traitor to the United States of America. Mr. Assange appears to have an ax to grind with our county and apparently our allies. He continues to put Americans and citizens of our allies in harms way. The senator who can't make up his mind, Joe Liberman said Sunday, Wikileaks, aka, Julian Assange, will have blood on their hands. Hell Joe, I said that at the leaking of the first set of documents! Get on the band wagon or didn't you have enough polling data at the time. Mr. Lieberman also said he doubts Wikileaks and Mr. Assange are terrorists. In the strict sense of the word he made be true. Since he is not a US citizen, thank goodness, he cannot be held responsible for his acts by our county. BUT, the T R A I T O R, who supplied the documents can and should be held accountable, tried, convicted and justly sentenced to the fullest extent of the law!

Having said that, the big discussion on the news this evening and most of the day appears to be barrack hussien obama's response or lack there of. This is the 3rd leak and B O can't seem to comment about it let alone do something about it. It appears he has forgotten Mo Kadafy and President Reagan's little bomb run. That would have and was a excellent example for B O to follow. He must not read history books in law school. He might try the Teddy Roosevelt, "walk softly and carry a big stick". B O's been walking softly now is the time to use the damn stick! I have full faith and confidence in the Central Intelligence Agency that they know the whereabouts of Mr. Assange and have the necessary skills (drugs or whatever) to see that Mr Assange sleeps with the fishes, and soon. This is easily arranged by a Presidential order. B O doesn't have a problem using Presidential orders to circumvent congressional vetting of his czars. He certainly shouldn't have a problem offing an enemy of the state! Then again we are back to the pair he doesn't seem to have.

The bottom line to this is folks this action or lack of action by B O makes the United States and the Office of the President of the United States look impotent. And, if B O doesn't take some kind of strong positive action and soon this impotence image will only continue. Soon Iran, North Korea, Cuba and the rest of the minor little countries will follow suit. The bottom line is act now Mr. President,
Get a pair and act now!

Now about me. I have become part of the problem and not part of the cure and am truly ashamed. Here is what happened. On black Friday I was driving to work. It was in the 30's here in the Midwest. On my way to work is a stretch of highway about 2 miles long with absolutely nothing but fields on both sides. It is between two subdivisions. Now black Friday is a very important and busy day even at The Home Depot. And I, am a very important employee and really need to get there on time and begin my job. As I am going past this long stretch of highway I see what appears to be 3 people walking. My best guess is a mother, teen daughter and little one, perhaps 3 or 4 years old. As I drive by the little one gets picked up by "mom". Now the closest place these people could be going is a shopping center about a mile up the road. I thought of stopping of and offering them a ride. It was cold and it was a little one. But as I drove I convinced myself, A: I could get hurt by picking them up, B: they wouldn't ride with me as they would be afraid of me, C: they might use the cell phone to call the police saying I tried to abduct them, and D: Oh my, it's black Friday and I have to get to work because I am important. Needless to say I went to work and didn't offer the ride. Where in the world have I gotten so callous as to not try to help my fellow man. Am I under control of the PC crowd where an old man, grandfather of 7 can, but doesn't offer a ride to a mother and her children on a cold day. Good Lord, what in the world have I let these people and this society make me into! It was truly a black Friday for me as I have felt like a bag of dog dirt ever since. No matter how hard I try can never make it up. It is so sad.

I have been somewhat troubled about the recent "Conservative Outrage" over the TSA screening process. I had previously made a lite comment about it and got no takers. I was disappointed. I am a follower of Sean H, brother Limbaugh, Mark Levin and think the perfect woman is a combo of Michelle Malkin and Anne Coulter (with a lot of ABNMOMMA thrown in). This time I vehemently disagree with their slamming criticism of the TSA employees. They are just flat wrong. I am siding with most of the left on this. Here's why.

Who among us at one time or another hasn't gritted his teeth and done some act we detested because our job required it or our boss said it had to be done. In this economy who among us wants to take the chance of losing our job. Daddy used to say there's a rotten apple in every barrel, even the TSA. That's my point. We all know of someone who shouldn't be employed in the profession they work in. There are bad cops, doctors, a ton of evil politicians, retail workers and the list goes on. Faced with the job of scanning or patting someone down whoamong us is going to say NO! Can you say, Your fired! These TSA workers are doing what they must to support a family.

Where my favorite "righties" are wrong is they are attacking the workers and NOT the top dogs of the administration. They need to go after Janet N, barack O, Eric H and the rest. They are the ones that are making the rules. This administration has a fly by night mentality and doesn't have a clue as to how to run an organization. The TSA, I would say, the majority of the TSA employee, are just trying to feed their family and pay the rent. If the likes of Sean and Rush don't get off this band wagon they will push the TSA employees right into the SEIU. Just where the "Right" doesn't need them. That is why today I am going from the "Right" to the "Left".

On a personal note. I am so disgusted with myself. I have become part of the problem and not part of the cure. Tune is tomorrow when I tell you what I did on Black Friday. You may never read this blog again.

I have very mixed emotions about the state of West Virginia. I am told my ancestors lived there before moving to Ohio in the late 1700's. ABNMOMMA and I drove the old West Virginia Turnpike to Myrtle Beach on our honeymoon nearly 34 years ago. They called it a suicide turnpike. It had 3 lanes up the hills. One north bound, one south bound and one for the daring to pass. Jerry West the great basketball player is from West Virginia as is General Chuck Yeager the first man to break the sound barrier. The "king of pork" Senator Robert Byrd is also from West Virginia (may G-d have mercy on his KKK soul).

Now is seems West Virginia has produced a complete idiot by the name of Jay Rockyfeller! Mr. Rockyfeller is masquerading as a Senator from the state of West Virginia. He may very well be masquarding as a human bean! I say bean because a human being has an IQ. From his recent comments regarding MSNBC and Fox News there is no possible way he could be smart enough to be a US Senator, regardless of how low the current standards are.
In a comments at a Senate Hearing on Wednesday, West Virginia Senator (I still believe it's an impostor) stated,

There’s a little bug inside of me which wants to get the FCC to say to Fox and to MSNBC, ‘Out. Off. End. Goodbye.’ “*I bid the alleged Senator to read this quote. Something most grade school children know and call the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION!

A Little Wisdom From a Jewish Fellow

This was received by me this morning when I opened my email. It's better than any pre "Holiday Season" post I could ever hope to read or write. Perhaps you may want to copy and paste or pass it on or just email by blog address to about a million of your closest friends. Maybe, just maybe we can start getting the RIGHT message out about the "Holiday Season"

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.

My confession:

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees... I don't feel threatened.. I don't feel discriminated against .. That's what they are, Christmas trees.

It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu ... If people want a creche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God as we understand Him? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her 'How could God let something like this happen?' (regarding Hurricane Katrina).. Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response.. She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?'

In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc.. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about.. And we said okay..

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks o f us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit.

If not, then just discard it... no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

Oh yes, did I mention the $60 speeding ticket I got for going 54 MPH in a 45 MPH zone in Virginia, Cost, I ain't paid it yet!

At this rate my daughter will take my keys away from me!

An Old Man's Thoughts

Today was a beautiful day in the Midwest. The sun shone and the sky was that gorgeous blue with only a very few high clouds. The temperature was expected to reach 68. Not a record high for this time of year but good enough for the call of the highway and the Harley was ready. Most of the morning was spent with a friend who had recently lost his father. Nothing heavy just drinking coffee on the patio and listening. I may have missed my calling maybe I should have been a Priest or bartender. I am not sure what, if anything was accomplished but he left and I thought maybe I had done some good. Only time will tell.

The Vietnam traveling wall is here in town and with the weather, the call of the Harley and the road it sounded like a good idea. I have never been to Washington DC and seen the real wall so this seemed like a good thing to do. I considered taking Jacob but decided it might be best for me to see it by myself. One never knows what might happen and I might have a moment. If I did, I did NOT want any witnesses. That's just the way I am so please don't try to psychoanalyze me.

After waiting in line about an hour I got to the beginning of the wall. Physically it is not an imposing object. Black with white letters it starts of short about a foot or so in height and ramps up to about five and a half feet in the middle of the wall then back tapering down on the other end to about a foot or so. A high school band was playing patriotic songs and a choir, high school I suppose was singing also. Some people were listening. Some people were standing in small groups of 3 or 4 just talking. The rest of us, just standing in line. A single man about my age was in front of me and the same behind me. We looked at each other occasionally but not a word was spoken. Almost no one talking, maybe a small child to his/her parent but even that was at a whisper. A very quiet line.

As I reached the beginning of the wall I stopped, thought for a moment, said a brief prayer for those who's names were on the wall and began my walk. I lost some friends in Vietnam but never looked for their names. Mike Spangler's name is on the wall. Mike and I played football together in high school. He was a year older than I was and graduated a year before me. We doubled dated with two of the prettiest girls in our high school. At least we thought they were. Before I graduated the next year Mike was KIA. Like I said his name is on the wall. Where, I don't know. It won't bring him back for his brothers Jerry or Chuck. We won't be double dating any more. Finding his name seemed a non issue. I knew it was there and he was gone.

I read names on each of the panels. Smith, Brown, Gidlow, Pena, Gonzales, some I couldn't pronounce or spell. I understand there are over 50,000 names on the wall. I made it a point to read several names on each panel. As I walked slowly in silence it began to come to me. With each name is a family of Jerry's and Chuck's just a different last name. There are girlfriends without boyfriends and parents without sons. Sisters who no longer have a brother such as my family friend Francine. Her brother was KIA in 1967. He like, Mike was 18 and just out of high school. One time when Francine and I were talking about Jacob she just started crying. She was 12 when her brother died and she remembers it to this day when the family was notified. She has lost her big brother. Fifty thousand names, fifty thousand families, fifty thousand stories

As I finished my walk, I thought. I saw English names, German names, Mexican names, Polish names and names I didn't really know what country of origin they may have come from. I know for a fact black men died in Vietnam. I know for a fact white men died in Vietnam, I am willing to bet red and yellow men died in Vietnam, for the cause. I know one more thing. Regardless of skin color or the country of their heritage they were one thing......First and foremost they were Americans and they give it all for their county.

This Ain't Gonna Happen!

I know you all have been waiting on my complete and in depth analysis of the election this past Tuesday so here it comes. It speaks for itself. Conservative America (most of America) is sick and tired of liberal politics and the "same ol' thing". The "same ol' thing" stands for Republican legislators who think they know what's best for America. The Tea Party has spoken and Democrats and Republicans alike better be listening. No more politics as usual!

The Tea Party has done what the Republican Party has refused to do for years. Sacrifice a few for the gains of many. Yes, they lost to Harry Reid, and in California and Christine O'Donnell but they put 60+ new people in play. Eighteen of those specifically backed by the Momma Grizzly herself, Sarah Palin. The Tea Party, Sarah Palin, and the likes of politicians like Rand Paul and Marco Rubio are forces to be reckoned with and the Republican Party better sit and take notice!

Here's a good way to start. Having said that, "This ain't gonna happen" My humble opinion of course. Pay cuts for the rich! Err, Congress. Compliments of "The Hill". Clik Here. It seems several taxpayer groups think pay cuts are in order for Congress. Who's going to argue with that. $174,000 is a little more than I make working for The Home Depot. Probably more than most Americans. Here again in my ever so humble opinion it would have to be a substantial cut. A small $5000 token cut ain't gonna get it for me. I once heard a story, don't know if it's true or not that George Washington had to put his farm up to have the money to go to Philadelphia to his own inauguration. I believe it was on Paul Harvey's "The Rest of the Story" One of you historians can check it out. Personally with all the benefits I think they should get about a grand a week.

Here's another good reason why these guys and gals need a pay cut. Let me retract that. They need a class in morals. Check out this story on Senator John Kerry, married to the Heinz heiress and multi-million. He doesn't or won't or can't pay the dock rental on his 7million $$$ yacht! Oh Please! Give me a Break.. That said let us not forget Senator Kerry is a Vietnam Veteran. The one who threw his medals over the Whitehouse fence if I remember correctly. For the full story from Matt Drudge clik here.

Do I Have STUPID on my Forhead?

Some days you get the bear and some days the bear gets you. Here we go again. I don't normally buy a paper, yet alone a US Today but,.............I did today. You see I took the old jalopy into the world's largest retail store for its mandatory oil change and was told it would be an hour. OK, No big deal, I'll just head to the Subway, grab some grub, read the newspaper and pick up the car. Sounds simple enough. Right? WRONG!!!!!

I grab a paper, the US Today and begin to read the news. I read a couple articles and then turn to the sports section. Since Jacob and I just returned from the NASCAR race in Martinsville I thought I'd see how far my guy, Jeff Gordon, fell in points for the Championship after Kurt Busch wrecked him. I start to read a NASCAR article and realize it is old stuff, like Friday. Hmmm, I got to a different article and read a little and it is old news, actually history. I turn to the front page and opps, It's Friday's edition. It hadn't been pulled by 10 o'clock and I just paid a buck for it. Am I stupid or what.

Now back to the front page. One of the articles I read has to do with changing the letters on street signs in the entire United States of America by 2015. It seems some knucklehead in the federal government did a study and alleges that baby boomers read signs better when the signs are in Capital and small letters.

Like this Main Street. Currently they are like this MAIN STREET.

Now I think to myself is this stupid! Does the knucklehead in Washington have any idea how much that is going to cost? And just who is going to pay for the 47 kazillion street signs that need changed? Oh did I mention it was mandatory. Oh did I mention if the cities don't have they signs changed by 2015 the Federalises are going to withhold federal funding for anything the municipalities are getting. Of course they are not providing any money to help change the signage. That is a blessing in disguise. At least obama won't use that a as ruse to raise taxes.

Now back to am I stupid? As I previously mention son, Jacob and went to the NASCAR race in Martinsville, Virginia this weekend. Sort of a pre birthday present and a thanks for your service to our country and son and dad just hanging out together like we use to do. As I am driving and running my mouth on the way to the the race I pass a grey car. About half way past the the car I realize it is a Virginia State Trooper. Well, I am committed so I ease on by and then get back in the right hand lane. Very shortly I see the very pretty blue lights come on. I do all the proper things associated with a traffic stop (done a few in my day) you know. I give the trooper my license, registration card and insurance. He very politely asks "Mr. Courtright did you know you were going 54MPH when you passed me? This is a 45 MPH zone. Please stay in the car I am going to issue you a summons. Well, what can I say. I was stupid enough to pass a State Trooper and NOT know what the speed limit was on a 4 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY!!! Can you believe it. Nine miles over the speed limit. The Trooper was within his rights to issue the summons. No argument about that. Haven't said that. I never issued a summons for less than 15 MPH over the speed limit. AND...I never lost a case! So there Mr. Virginia State Trooper!

Well you decide if I am stupid or not.

Common Sense or UNcommon Sense

We report you decide as a major information network says. I am respectfully stealing that for today's post. I will get back to my BUY AMERICA theme in the next few days. Most of you know I seldom read a newspaper as it is HISTORY by the time we read it. I enjoy the fast paced news like of the net and radio. Doesn't that sound so....so.....exciting. Basically I am just too cheap to spend a buck on bird cage lining. BUT, today I had some time to kill and was in a coffee shop (without wi-fi) can you believe that. It's true.

I bought the local Communist rag, and started my journey. Headlines "Military Taking Gays as Recruits". Then the story of a West Point graduate, Dan Choi. He apparently is an Iraq war vet and openly homosexual. The story went on to say he was preparing to re-enlist since the "Don't ask, don't tell" law was overturned by a judge in California. Who would have thought a California judge would overturn a law like that! You can go online and read the whole story somewhere I am sure. Mr. Choi is re-enlisting I presume, with the full knowledge that the Attorney General is going to fight this ruling in the higher courts. That is his right.

Page 2 of the local communist rag: "Gay slur goes unpunished" It seems a high school crowd in Eastlake,Ohio started chanting a homosexual slur at a football game this past weekend. So many chanted it that principal, Jennifer Chauby, was unable to single out anyone in particular. The report says she did call in several children who fessed up to following the crowd. She stated she was unable to punish anyone in particular but is making announcements and meeting with individual students to convey it was wrong. The local Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender Community Center of Greater Cleveland said it amounted to bullying. Oh my! Bullying again.

Having said(typed) that I don't condone bullying or teasing, or picking on any one. I DO say toughen up Slugo! Real life ain't easy.

The third thing that caught my eye in the local Communist rag was an article on the OP ED page by Thomas Sowell. In the article Mr. Sowell discusses the Chancellor of Germany' recent remark regarding multiculturalism. Chancellor Merkel said flat out it doesn't work! Mr. Sowell credits her for, guess what, her courage. Germany willingly opened their borders to anyone who wished to enter the country. The misconception was these people would assimilate into the Germany society. They later would become Germans with a (insert country) heritage. This didn't happen and Chancellor Merkel said so.

Now who has showed common sense and who hasn't. Mr. Choi didn't in my opinion and it has nothing to do with his homosexuality. Common sense would dictate wait until the court challenge is over and then if the law is struck down enlist. Doing it now only creates more paperwork and he gets his 15 minutes of fame. A graduate of West Point you would think he would be smarter. He probably is however, he has no common sense. I'm glad Jacob has been discharged. I wouldn't want him to have Mr. Choi for a commander. Being smart is ok but, common sense will carry you a long way!

I normally line up against school teachers, principals, superintendents, and school boards. This time this principal showed common sense by not trying to single out a student or several students. Kudos to a school principal with common sense. Unfortunately the group who said it amounted to bullying, well, like I said, Life ain't easy. They have no common sense. There has always been bullying and always will. You cannot legislate peoples emotions, feeling, thoughts or minds.

Mr. Sowell is a well know black Conservative. I wonder if he showed common sense by writing this article. Chancellor Merkel may not have shown common sense but she certainly, as Mr. Sowell said, showed courage. If she is re-elected I suppose you could say she had common sense or at least guts. Kudos to Chancellor Merkel for telling the truth.

Now if we can just learn from her strong stand and make English our official language and quite printing everything in ten languages. Some people don't want to be Americans they just want our freedoms.

It's off to the races this weekend with civilian Jacob. This is his birthday present and get out the ARMY treat. After a tour in Baghdad and time in Hati he deserves a NASCAR race. Martinsville Virginia HERE WE COME. Any body got bail money?

Bet You Missed This One

I have shied away from most of this political season as I mainly preach to the choir. That is good as the choir needs some positive influence once in a while. I just have to report this tidbit of info and then I will get on with my main topic.

Today The Great State of Ohio is blessed (?) with visits from barrack hussein obama, Michelle, the belle, obama and Mr. Sound Bite Gaff himself, Vice President, JOE BIDEN! That is a lot of heavy hitting for a state that obama won by 8 points. Ex-representative John Kasich has had a consistent lead sometime by double digits. On top of this it is the 11th time, that is correct the 11th time barrack hussein obama has been to Ohio. Talk about beating a dead horse! Ohio will have a Republican governor in two weeks.

If you have read my blog for a while you most likely noticed my Support Arizona logo. This got me thinking a while ago and it was finally brought to a head this past Thursday. And, No, it’s not about immigration. It’s about America, my land, your land, and

Compliments of the day old USA Today in the break room of The Home Deport I garnered this small 8 news item. Headlines, China buys interest in Texas oil field.

These 8 lines go on to say China’s state owned, offshore oil company has bought a1/3 share in 600,000, six hundred thousand, acres that Chesapeake Energy leases in a south Texas oil field. Now folks, I know Texas is a big place but, 600,000 acres, even in Texas is a lot of land to be somewhat partially owned by China. China will pay Chesapeake 1.3 billion, billion with a “B” in cash (?)!!!!!!!!!! Now exactly who’s cash is Chesapeake getting paid with?

Stay with me here folks and I will tie this together.

I needed a shovel. You would think living in the country for most of my adult life I would have one. I did! With a son and daughter close by tools tend to disappear. Hmm. I take the opportunity at work the other day to shop for a shovel. A shovel is not a terribly complicated tool to use or to build. You take a piece of steel stamp it, sharpen it, add a study piece of wood or recycled plastic for a handle and BINGO! A shovel.
I recently bought a paint pole extension to paint the ceilings in my house which are 14 feet in height. I looked at a couple and found one “Made in America”. It cost a couple of bucks more but in my secret war to keep Americans employed I bought it. Now, back to the shovel

I examined each and every shovel being sold by THD and could not find one “Made in America”. The very best I could find was one company who tired very hard to conceal the fact it was not “Made in America” by using Red, White and Blue on the label and then declaring “Assembled in America, using foreign materials”. Not one shovel, a simple device with simple construction was “Made in America”

We took in those “tired and poor and huddled masses and they built the greatest most desired nation in the world. We built the factories, built the cars, the tallest skyscrapers and now…… The factories fall silent as our shovels are made overseas. The tallest skyscrapers are built in lands I can’t even pronounce and Consumer Reports the best cars in the United States are the imports.

Google foreign ownership of land in the United States and you get 4.3 million hits. Stats from the USDA show that:

Foreign interests owned 14.5 million acres, or slightly over 1 percent, of privately owned U.S. agricultural land (farm and forest land) on December 31, 1990. That's up 15 percent (1,875,806 acres) from the previous year, according to a recent issue of the Agriculture Department's FARMLINE magazine.

I ask you my friends what is happening in this country? What?

Let the Glory be God's

Let the joy be the rescued, their family's and the rescuers!

I'm sitting here in front of the tube waiting patiently, sometimes not so patiently, for the rescue of the Chilean miners. My heart is full of hope and my eyes begin to tear up once in a while. Tears of Joy, manly tears of course, none the less tears.

My mind wonders what has gone through the minds of these trapped men and their families. We all know the story, hopefully, you haven't been in a coma for the past two plus months. I am not a person who necessarily likes tight places, like CAT scan tubes. I have been to Mammoth Cave in Kentucky and hiked some cave trails. I would probably do it again but, working in a mine, probably not.

Trapped for 17 days with no one knowing whether they or alive or not. If you are religious what deals do you make with God? What promises do you make to get you out a alive? That's the first thing I believe many of us would think. I am reminded what my father, a veteran of WWII fighting in the Philippines, told me when I enlisted in the ARMY during the Vietnam War. "Son, there are no atheists in a fox hole" At some time during my life I told Jacob that story. One of the first things he told me on his first call from Baghdad was simply, "Dad, grandpa was right" No further explanation was necessary. A quarter mile under the earth with what appears to be any way out would seem like a foxhole to me. I would like to think I would be strong and recite, Something like "not my will but thy will" I don't know if I am that strong. Now the hard part. How to rescue 33 men from a room a quarter of a mile under the surface of the earth.

I find it strange that Chile is the country to make this rescue. Not that it is not worthy but in the US Chile is not the first country of discussion, This country has made history with this rescue and the engineering to support this rescue. I have heard how the US has contributed by supplying NASA style meals for those trapped miners. Every news reporter has mentioned that. Is that really germane to the rescue? You all know I love this country more than the air I breathe but give the glory to God! Give the joy to the family and stuff our "we" attitude in a can.

I was so pleased to see the President of Chile cross himself when the capsule and it's second rescuer made it safely to the bottom. I wonder if our President would have put himself in a situation that would have had him photographed making the Sign of the Cross?

The first capsule is UP!!!! Praise the Lord. Thirty 32 more miners to go! He seems well and is greeted by what is believed to be his son and wife. As the camera pans the crowd tears in the eyes of some of the biggest, rugged, manly men I have ever seen. Now for the second time the reporter, who's name I don't know has said, "Thank the Lord". Someone feels the same as I do. Now 32 more minors to go.

Yes, the country of Chile has many many people working on this project however the engineers who have pulled this off have had a guiding hand that if I could speak Spanish am sure some of these rescuers have thanked as this first miner safely arrived.

More to come for as long as I can stay awake,

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.*

For me and my simple mind that seems pretty straight forward. I am addressing the part that says, "prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech."

In other words you can say anything about anything. Now having said that I realize we have made a few rules that overrule my anything about anything. For example the ruling you can't yell "Fire" in a crowded theater. The basic "theater" ruling was ruled to prevent harm to people who may be injured trying to exit the facility during an emergency. This is to say to you can't have freedom of speech for the purpose of inciting panic. That makes perfect sense to me.

Now comes the "politically correct" crowd. You can't call a fat person fat (except me, I don't care, I am). You can't call a homosexual a homosexual because he/she is, you must call them "gay" (?). You can't say I wanna beat the snot out of you because you just PO'd me by calling me a dumb Conservative. Now I can't even say I really don't want Muslims or illegal Hispanics in our/my country. Well at least that's the way it is in the Netherlands. I invite you to read this article about Geert Wilders Clik here. Mr. Wilders is on trial in the Netherlands for hate speech. Yes, that is right "hate speech". According to the article, and you should read it, really, what an eye opener, Mr. Wilders stated "I've had enough of Islam in the Netherlands: let not one more Muslim immigrate." He is also purported to have "I've had enough of the Quran in the Netherlands: Forbid that fascist book."

The population of the Netherlands.....TIME OUT! A lady just called the Rush Limbaugh show and complained to Rush Limbaugh they were upset with him for calling barrack hussein obama a Jackass. She said it was insulting......................to the jackass and hard working and trusty animal since the beginning of time. LOL. Back to your local program.

in the Netherlands is approximately 16.5M. Approximately 1.6 million Dutch voted for Mr. Wilders. Now if I did my math right that equals about 10% of the population. if you make the assumption every man, woman and child votes. If you make the assumption only 50% of the population votes....well double the 10%.

Where am I going with all this. Here! This country is all ready in the grasp of the politically correct. We have no smoking laws, we have no cussing laws, kids can't ride a bike without a helmet, they can't play physical games on the playground and parents won't allow teachers to discipline their child when they misbehave. We have bullying rules and must us the term "people of color" or be scorned. For those of us who grew up saying yes mame, no sir and c'mon boys let's go! We walk in fear of being called out by a fellow employee. We can't say we are Christian or fear being called a Bible Thumper and trying to force our religion but it's all right for Muslim women to not have to remove their face veils to have a drivers license picture. I grew up in a loving home and calling a female "hon" was comonplace. If I do that at work, watch out, I might offend someone.

With laws being passed and the politically correct crowd squealing louder than a pig caught in a barb wire fence it is only a matter of time before some Conservative is hauled of to court for saying something offensive like

America, like it or leave it!

A Bad Day, PERIOD!

I went to bed last night and, I woke up this morning. I didn’t want to go to bed because I couldn’t get my mind to stop thinking. I really hate nights like that. All though this may be a whine on my part I want my readers to consider it informative.

I remember today September 30, 2008 very well. You see, 2 years ago Gretchen was diagnosed with Cancer. She was seeing patients as she always seemed to be doing and I took the call. “Hi, this is Dr. so and so’s office. Is Gretchen there? No, Oh, is this Mr. Courtright? Yes, We have the results from Gretchen’s tests and Dr. so and so wants to see her today if possible.”

I ‘ve been married to a nurse for 30+ years. Wanting to see a patient “today” is not a good sign. I knew the call and the test results were not good. I had no idea how bad they would be. Gretchen came home about an hour later. I had no idea how to tell here other than how the Dr’s office said it. The Dr. wants to see you today, I said. About as subtle as a bull in a china shop. She didn’t really react that much. She went immediately into what we called “nurse mode” Something she did when me or the kids got hurt. No sympathy, just attack the problem at hand and deal with the emotions later. Her reply was “What time?”. I told her we have to call. She did and we left within 20 minutes.

At the Drs. Office we waited a short time and then went in to the sterile little room, with the charts and a picture on the wall to make it seems more comfortable and waited. Thank goodness, not very long but, to me at least it seemed an eternity. Dr. so and so came in and looked directly at Gretchen and said. The tests reveal a lesion 3.5 mm on your right lung. With the symptoms you have had it is consistent with cancer. Gretchen never moved, never gasped, never did anything for what seemed another eternity. She looked at me and I could see something I don’t think I ever saw in her face. Fear. Tears welled and she wiped them then, the dreaded “nurse mode”. Never a word to me, a look my way, just that damn “nurse mode”. She just looked at Dr. so and so, and said we must be aggressive. Dr. so and so outlined some procedures and then said I’ll give you a few minutes and left the room.

I know we talked with each other but what we said escapes me. I honestly have no idea what we said to each other. Not a clue. Dr. so and so re-entered the room and she and Gretchen went into Dr. and nurse mode. They started talking medicine and treatments. Then, Dr. so and so finally turned to me and ask if I had any questions. Oh my mind went into overdrive. QUESTIONS! QUESTIONS!, You just pronounced my wife with a death sentence and you ask me if I have QUESTIONS! I haven’t been part of this conversation for the past half hour and you want to know if I have QUESTIONS! You’re &^%**%$& right I have QUESTIONS!

I opened my mouth and calmly said, “No, Gretchen will explain it all to me. Thank you” What Gretchen would call “Cop mode” took over. Handle the situation and break down later. It seems to run in the family.

A long ride home and not much conversation. Not much to say, Just process what you’ve just heard and try to sort everything out. Finally, the kitchen. Our little neutral zone. Where we have always had our most serious and personal conversations. I made some coffee she got her Diet Coke. We just stood there in our respective places and looked at each other. She never was one to swear much and quite frankly I expected some expletive deleted to come. They didn’t of course. She just looked me in the straight forward face she got when seriousness was on the table and said two things.

“Well, this sucks! What could I say to that. I just looked at her and said, “yep, this really sucks.” She then looked at me and calmly said, “You know this will take a miracle from God, don’t you”? “Yes, I know” That pretty much summed up the worst day of my life.

And, yes, we did have a melt down later but not then. In our family there is a time and place for everything. Our kitchen was neither the time, nor the place.

Why do I write this today. It is the 2nd anniversary that’s why. Last night as I always do I prayed to God to take care of her. Begged for 5 minutes with her and then finally decided to write this post. The reason I am going to use it to tell people who read it. The pain does not go away on the inside even though it appears so on the outside. If you have a friend who has lost a loved one just because they smile and laugh and appear to be ok on the outside they may not be healed on the inside. This is not just my story but the story of several other people I know in the same situation. It is only though the good support of friends and family and those in our situation is how we manage to sometimes “just get though the day”

Remember that the next time you are with a friend who has lost a loved one.

Those of you who know me and follow Conservative Outrage know I usually wind up on the right side of Sean Hannity and the rest. Key word here is usually! I got home in time last night to catch Searn’s show on FOX. I was disappointed in Sean’s glowing response to the “Promise to America. Here is the reason why!

They just don’t get it! They just don’t get it!! The tried and true old style Republicans. What a bunch of hooey! Forty-five pages what can best be summed up at complacency, soft on issues, long rhetoric, and just plain lack of ……well…….guts!

There is no solid stance against abortion, gay marriage, border control, or gun rights. There is no solid stand for smaller government, less spending or long term tax reform. It is a gutless 45 pages of more of the same with just more lipstick on the pig. IMHO of course.

You don’t need forty-five pages to say Cut spending NOW! Repeal Obamacare NOW! secure the borders NOW! Do not fund ABORTION in any way shape, matter or form, EVER! Leave my guns alone, FOREVER, Govern by the Constitution, FOREVER! Listen to the people NOW!

Someone please sum that up for me. I know it didn’t take 45 pages of BS.

Once again the thought police rears it’s ugly head. Now I don’t really care what evil you think, as long as you don’t act. If you want to trash my blog mentally, strangle me for Conservative posts mentally, or think pleasant thoughts about the lamebrains in Congress, have at it. HOWEVER, if you wish to act on your thoughts well, whoa, there big boy. My blog is sacred ground to me, my neck is definitely “my neck” and not meant to be strangled in in way, shape, matter or form. And well……good thoughts about Congress, go for it, maybe it will get there by osmosis.

As far as I know the reality is, no one person, can read another person's mind. If I am wrong, please cite me names, dates and places to document it. I will then post a retraction. You probably have guessed this “thought” garbage put out there as "intent" is BS in this ex-officers world. Think all you want, act on it and your were mine!

Now comes the academic (or should I say anemic) world and it seems one professor can actually read an entire body of student"s minds. All at one time, sort of simultaneously, all together at the same time as Yogi Berra might say!

What does this have to do with the “thought police”? Mr. Green gives his apparently unbiased opinion. His opinion gives me cause for concern on two fronts. First, is this not America? Home of the Brave ,Land of Free, Freedom of speech, etc? We’ve had this discussion before regarding the famous “N” word. My original thought was Mr. Green if the Muslims don’t want to hear a chant USA! USA! USA! Go to a country that doesn’t chant it. If you are an American Muslim, you should be chanting too. You are a USA citizen are you not? Ergo, (I like that word, sounds so…so. Snotty) E. Pluribus Unum, from many ONE!!
Secondly, This person is teaching at a university and does have some control over young minds. If he is willing to publish an article like this in the college newspaper what in the world is he doing in a classroom! I don’t want a college professor teaching my grandchildren his personal political ideas. Educate on the subject you are assigned to teach and leave the politics to the politicians.

Perhaps we should have a “thought” police. Somebody needs to know what a moron, like Mr. Green is thinking!

What in the World !!!

Once again I hang my head in shame. Again, what was once the Great State of Ohio has lost is greatness and some of its people have gone completely insane. I refer to the recent embarrassing decision of the burg of Andover, Ohio's trustees to cancel a Tea Party rally on Constitution Day. DUH! You can read the complete article here.

My second, hang my head in shame is the Ohio State football team. After a thrilling start of the football season beating non-ranked football team Marshall, then 12th ranked Miami (Fl), they go on to defeat little Ohio University by a 43-7 score. I feel so bad for the young OU players who are like sheep going to slaughter.Why am I hanging my head on this. It's embarrassing that's why. Ever since Jim Tressel became coach scheduling small colleges for "turn ups" has become the norm. Having said that, I am no Jim Tressel fan, I deplore the contract of over 1 million American dollars he is paid. The university's average teachers salary is 50K. I deplore the fact he AND his wife receive free cars (can't he make a car payment on a 1M salary?). I deplore the "guaranteed bonus" he is paid for having a good season. What does bonus mean? How about do well and receive something. What does guarantee means? You're going to get it anyway. Does the Ohio State Board of Directors think the public is that DUMB! And lastly but not leastly, (my new word), I deplore the big deal that was made of Coach Tressel wearing a WWJD bracelet. I believe Jesus rode on a donkey and paid his own way. I guess I am not really a fan of college football where young kids are exploited for the gains of a college. Yes, I know some go on to a great pro career. Most never finish college and that's a fact!

Well, that's my personal shame, that and soon to be ex-Senator George Voinovich another RINO.

Speaking of RINOs. Wasn't Christine O'Donnell's victory over RINO Mike Castle something to be proud of! Now! We see what has taken over the Republican Party. With the likes of Florida Governor, Charlie Crist showing his true colors early this year in switching to become a liberal independent. Now , Lisa Murkowski, wants to play the role of sore loser and become a write-in candidate. Oh Please, and currently last but maybe not really last, the spoiled brat, Mike Castle refuses to make a conciliatory phone call to Ms. O'Donnell or support her candidacy. Can you say, SOUR GRAPES!

I will say this, if Michael Steele and other alleged leaders in the Republican Party don't get it by now they must be sleeping. It would behoove Mr. Steele and the rest of the "we think we know better" Republican hierarchy to get their act together. Start by explaining to the above listed cry baby, spoiled brats, they got beat fair and square. They got beat on their past records and what the voters thought they would vote for in the future. They need to open their eyes to the Tea Party movement or they need to turn in their ID cards 'cause they are history. The Tea Party people ain't gonna go way folks.

Sunday Sermon

Living the dream, That’s my motto. Where else in the this Universe can an old fat guy have a good job, great children and grandchildren, good friends, a home, people who care about me, a church who feeds me in spirit and human food and a Harley to ride on good days. I look around at the men and women I “hang with” in the Midwest and on the net. I am so Blessed (a slightly over used word) but, blessed I am.

A brief rundown on the people I hang with.

A man who recently had cancer surgery
A women who needs a kidney transplant*
A women who is nearly 80 and works 40 hours a weeks because she needs the money.
A young women who has had a knee replacement and needs another one
A man who had a knee replacement and it didn’t take
A husband and wife who wake up every morning wondering if the cancer has returned and she will need a second mastectomy
A friend who is struggling with alcohol and has a dying father because of cancer
The wife of my cousin. He passed away on Valentine Day. She calls me and asks “how am I!”. OMG. I feel guilty that’s how I am. She is so very strong
A woman who has been full time employed for 30 years and was laid off and now struggles to make her house payment.

That’s just ten people I feel I know well. The point of this post, As my father would say, “I felt really sorry for myself because I had no shoes………until I saw a man who had no feet.”

Quit your whining and be so very thankful for God has given to you!

Thus endeth the sermon for Sunday.

I Don't Get It!!!

I don’t get it. Why is President Barrack Hussein Obama campaigning around the country on my (and your) tax dollars saying he is going to spend more of our tax dollars when we are nearly bankrupt! What I really don’t get and what really ticks me off is some, not all Conservatives and their media counterparts. That’s right some Conservatives are really ……..making me ……ah….upset! Why?

Only one reason, they are absolutely wrong about this President. Wrong, Wrong, Wrong!!! What they are wrong about is about this President not getting it. Excuse me! Newsflash! He Gets It! He knows exactly what he is doing. To make matters worse he wants to do what he is doing. He wants and is destroying this country. How can he not want it. You have a black father married to a white woman and your father leaves you. It ain’t likely mom is going to speak highly of him. Remember this was 40 years ago. A mixed marriage was ostracized in those days. It was treated as your cousin getting pregnant at 16 and going to Florida to visit her aunt for 6 or 7 months.

He was raised by his grandparents whom were probably like most Americans embarrassed by the marriage and spoke about the prejudice this marriage brought about. Your are a youth growing up with anger in your heart and searching for something in your life. In come a rebel with a cause in the makings of a college professor who seizes young minds and hearts like a lion seizes a gazelle. You now have a young Socialist, Communist, Progressive or whatever tag you want to hang on him. What you do have is an angry young man who dislikes his childhood and the people and the country he was raised in.

He wants to destroy it all. The end justifies the means! Destroy this country, and people whatever the cost. His mind is that of a Homicide Bomber. Yes, I will die but I will take the infidels with me. The only difference is he won’t die. He will be the King Louie and Machelle Antoinette. Living the life until the rebellion comes of like King Nero. Fiddle away while Rome burns, simply lost in the vision of his own mindless mind!

So don’t say he Doesn’t get it. Oh he gets it he just plain doesn’t care!

Prayer Request

My good friends and fellow bloggers regarding my August 29th post. I have been contacted via the comment section of this post by a fellow using the name Jake A In his words he is a proud liberal from Massachusetts. Sadly, he also states he is an atheist. He seems to be empty and hollow inside. Perhaps he is searching for something. My non-professional diagnoses. I am asking you to please include him in your prayers in hopes that he will find what he seems to be searching for. As Spitfire said in her comments about me, God my not be done with him yet,or perhaps he IS doing God's will. That is not for us to determine. I just ask you keep him in your prayers so he may find an inner peace in God that we have found.

Early Sunday Morning

It's a good thing I usually go to church on Sunday morning. It does two things; A. It strengthens my resolve in their is/must be a Creator, B. Gives me an immediate chance to ask the Creator for forgiveness, FROM WATCHING THE NEWS, before church!

Sounds fair enough except, according to the Police Officer, the magnets do not fall within the parameters of a sign. Oh ya, the magnets.......say, God Bless America.

B. Denver must be a great city right? Didn't John Denver write a song about it. Isn't Denver where all the great ski lodges are? The air is clear and bright. Apparently the air is not so clear and the bright sun absolutely fried the brains of the Denver City School Board and 90% of the parents. According to the news, the school board along with the parents have OK'd a plan to pass out birth control devices (condoms) to 6TH GRADERS! Since most schools tend to lean to the left as the school boards do I don't find this unusaul. Now about the 90% of the parents agreeing with it. The birth rate among Denver teenagers is double the rate of the US and the State of Denver, according to the report. These parents are now passing to the schools the responsibility of making moral decisions. Gretchen and I raised 3 kids, two boys and a girl. None of them, were responsible to/for a child born out of wedlock or with the first 9 months of marriage. Why? BECAUSE WE TOOK THEM TO CHURCH and PROVIDED THEM A MORAL AND RESPONSIBLE UPBRINGING!!!

The parents that voted to allow the school to pass out condoms to 6th graders are morally bankrupt and mentally deficient as parents and in child rearing. They, the parents, should be the ones recieving condoms. This would insure no more children are born to these lazy, mentally incompetent adults (?). IMHO, of course. Isn't this what Glen Beck was talking about yesterday, Honor, Morals, Responsibility?

Well off to church where I will ask my Maker to forgive me for the above rant. I hope He has a lot of patience with me. I am a work in progress.

I’m sitting in my car and I hear Glenn Beck come on the radio. He starts to talk about how we, the people, are going to lose our gun rights. Not, our guns, but the ammo we use in them. He goes on to basically re-state what was posted yesterday. Do away with the lead and make ammo so expensive the average family can’t afford it. This does not stop us from eating as very few American families are true hunter/gathers as they were 200 years ago. What is does do is take away the fundamental right of protecting ones family and self. With “the right to bear arms” so expensive who, will have the “arms”. The government of course, Why? To quell the Constitutional Conservatives that are finally fed up and and storm the government. Unlike the Pilgrims, there is NO place to run to. There is no “new found land”. Conservatives will rise up and rebel if their culture is to survive. For those at the FBI or Secret Service, no this is not a call to an armed insurgency. It's just an observation from and old US ARMY Veteran!

I have thought about post for a while. It probably will cause me a few followers but someone needs to say something about this politically correct garbage. It is taking over this country. You can’t say this, you can’t say that. You can’t do this, you can’t do that. We don’t keep scores in games because we want kids to “feel good about themselves” We don’t want their delicate psychic (is that the right word?) disturbed. What in the world is going to happen when they get into the real world. I am talking about the real world, not just the United States of America. This is a world of complete interaction of all peoples today and now forever more.

You can’t call me fat ‘cause that will hurt my feelings. Well folks if you don’t call 50 pounds overweight fat I don’t know what is! Please call me heavy, portly, or even grandfatherly but don’t you DARE call me FAT. Guess what, The damn truth hurts. I am FAT and if I don’t want to be called fat then I, Me, Myself, should lose some damn weight! And…. oh my golly! What about when I was a kid, a mere 9 years old in the 3rd grade and had a bone disease called Leg Perthes Disease. At 9 years old I had to wear a full leg brace on one leg brace with a 4 inch lift on the other leg to keep the weight of my hip so the bone could heal. It did take long, only 3 years. Bet you can’t guess who was the last one called for RED ROVER? Oh, that’s right we don’t play that anymore. How does “peg leg or crip” sound? Some little munchkin may get hurt or be the last one called. That would be worse because he might be traumatized, For Life!!! Well, I don’t think I was traumatized, I think I was strengthened! Adversity makes you stronger!

A week ago Dr. Laura Schlessinger’s got into a load of politically correct trouble for saying the word, yes, close your eyes and ears ‘cause I am going to say/type it “nigger” She only said what people think when they here the phrase “N word”. Ask yourself. What really is your mind processing when you hear someone use the phrase “N word”.
Personally I find the word “cracker” insulting since I am white or Caucasian what ever word you choose. I had a Jewish grandmother, the word “kike” offends me. Come to think of it I am probably shorter than I used to be (age does that to a body) and shorter than the average American male. The word short offends me. My mom always told me “sticks and stones will break your bones but, words will never hurt you” Mom, you were absolutely right. Now the liberals in this country may cry a river if they get called a name but then again they are liberals.

Please refer to me as male, heterosexual, horizontally and vertically imperfect with multi-religious imperfections and a lack of pigmentation in my dermis or epidermis. I think that should cover most of the bases. Do you see how ridiculous this has gotten?

In the past months on the news, I seen stories about:
You can’t say the Pledge of Allegiance at the Lincoln Memorial
You can’t wear a Pro Life t-shirt to school
Sex education in the 1st grade
Removing Memorial Crosses from the highways;
And the list goes on and on and on.

If we don’t get off this politically correct garbage and start taking a stand it is not the left wing liberals ,Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid or Barrack Hussein Obama we should blame it is US! WE sit on our butts, keep our mouths shut, and with our turn the other checks mentality continue to let it go on.

Please accept my apologies for not responding and posting in the blog-o-sphere for the past month. It has been a little difficult around the ol' farm to say the least. It is very hard for me to type one-handed and for the past several weeks that is the way I have been negotiating through life. You see, I was helping a couple men load a lawn tractor into a pick'em up truck and one slipped. I caught what he dropped. Unfortunately in making a great save I also torn my row-tater- cup. My right arm of course since I am right handed. Needless to say I have had the usual X-rays, MRI'S, exams, more exams, and nothing PDQ. In the mean time my right arm has been held very, very closely to my right side. Now add to that trying to get on board with a new 40 hour job at The Home Depot (bless them), and trying to get the house ready for Jacob to come home FOR GOOD!!! It's been a little taxing. For those of you hangerons, like I said please accept my apologies. For those of you who fell to the way side, I hope you come back and understand, this ain't easy. And finally for those who are nurses ah hmm, yes, I am going to have surgery. I am just waiting until Jacob gets home so I have someone to complain to. Doc, says I got more Arthur Ristis in my shoulder than most pro football players and he should know he were on and a grad from OSU.

Just Something Silly

A note on my personal info, I no longer am employed by the world's largest retailer as of Wednesday. I have instead seized the opportunity to work for the world's largest home improvement center (I think). This does not mean I will be cheering for the bright orange car and the kid driving it on Sundays. I am a loyal 24 fan and will stay that way until he retires.

On to some silly things.

I went to a craft show last weekend to hawk my Watkins Products. While talking to a widow lady (don't go there) the subject of new friends came up. We chatted and she told me about her new friends. I then told her about mine.

First there was the new friend I met while learning to cook, George Foreman. Of course every body who has met George has met "his" good friend, Mic Row Wave. Now between these to friends I can cook nearly any dish out there. Well at least a lot of dishes anyway, We all know home cooking is wonderful. But, one needs to eat out once in a while and go some place difference. That brings to my new friend Maggie Gellan. Maggie Gellan is a petite little one. She's actually is so small she can sit on the dashboard of my car! Once I let Maggie know where I want to go Maggie tells me 2 miles, .5, miles and then about 100 feet before I need to make a turn. Maggie even knows where an ATM is in case I need money. It took me a while to get use to her somewhat electronic voice but Maggie didn't miss a turn on my trip to Fayetteville NC on Wednesday. After visiting my soldier sons, Jacob by birth right and Kody, by "hillbilly adoption" I look forward to Maggie getting me back to Ohio on Saturday. Then Mic and George will probably help me cook a meal.

Friends are not hard to come by in this world. One only has to look around and have a little imagination. I'm curious, Do you have any friends like George, Maggie or Mic Row Wave

Why I Don't Read the Huffington Post

Why I don't read the Huffington Post, very often. It's just a matter of trash vs treasure. While watching FOX NEWS this morning they had a blurb on for about 10 seconds stating Senator Dick Durbin had introduced a new bill. This new bill would allow large corporations that sold gas to pass on a tax to the consumer. On it's face this sounds anti-consumer. However, a little thought into the whole consumer/tax thing brings me to the conclusion, ALL TAXES ARE PASSED ONTO THE CONSUMER!

Folks, there are only so many $$$$ in circulation and they gotta circulate. Basically this is an exercise in futility. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure this out. The consumer is King or Queen in my book. It's just a darn shame we, Conservatives, don't use that power more often. Rush Limbaugh has approximately 20 million listeners, according to Rush. Sean Hannity, has 13.5 listeners* admittedly many Rush listeners also but, for numbers sake. Let's say 1/3 don't listen to Rush, or approximately 5 million. That's a total of 25 million listeners. Now, if 1/2 of the 25 million listeners write a letter to, let's say Wal-Mart. The letter stating these consumers are just sick and tired of Wal-Marts poor quality tomatoes** and are going to shop Meijers, Krogers, Food Lion, or what ever store is in your area, do you think Wal-Mart would upgrade the quality of tomatoes? I'm not an expert but I do believe they would. Gees, I wish we Conservatives would get on board with this type of power! I guess we are too busy working, raising our children, and clinging to our guns and Bibles. "Nuff said.

Back to the Huffington Post. Anyway, I was looking for some solid evidence linking Senator Durbin to this alleged bill. I did a Google Search and checked out about a dozen hits and found nothing. I even went to Senator Durbin's web page and found nothing. So at this point in time I am putting the issue aside.

While I was searching I decided to check the far left blog, The Huffington Post. If any blog would have an article about Senator Durbin and taxes I figure it might. I bet you were wondering when I was going to get to the Huffington Post. Now keep in mind I go there about once a month or less. Here are the reasons why:

To compound matters "We just have to be careful with our language, but that's all right, sweetheart," was all Meredith Vieira said after the girl made the comments. That's all that was said! Comments like that cost shock jock, Howard Stern, a million $$$ a pop! If you want to read the articles via The Huffington Post copy and past the web addresses. I don't really want that trash and garbage linked to my blog.

I really am interested in seeing if the FCC will intercede in this.

I have one other tidbit from the Huffington Post and then....who knows....maybe I'll visit it more often looking for my gym socks, the lid to my garbage can or whatever foul odor I smell. You know you are to be feared (sarcasm) by the left when The Huffington Post attacks you! Check out this article on Senator John McCain. the last paragraph says it all. The attack JD Hayworth for a ligament question. By the way, I respect Senator McCain for his military service and thank God for men like him. ME! On the Side of the Atheists!

While surfing through the net one day, in the merry merry month of June, I was taken by SURPRISE....by an article I surmise......would have brought my blood to a boil!! (OK, kind hum the tune, humor me, I'm an old guy). That's right, me Mr. Conservative, about two steps to the right of Rush and Mark Levin. I am siding with an atheist organization. Here is the bottom line.

The Catholic League's Bill Donohue and I suppose his organization what the Empire State Building bathed in blue and white lights to honor Mother Teresa on what would have been her 100 birthday. Anthony Malkin, president of Malkin Holdings, which owns the Empire State Building says "no". The Empire State Building does not honor political or religious persons or organizations.

Seems pretty straight forward to me. Mr.Donohue says they have in the past honored such people and organizations. He feels it is an affront to Mother Teresa. I will be the first to admit I know very little about Mother Teresa only that she was Catholic, I think, and spent her life giving to and helping the poor. Sounds pretty worthy to me. None the less, and regardless of past practices I do believe Mr. Malkin and Malkin Holdings has the right NOT to shine blue and white lights on the Empire State Building if they so choose. It is their building.

Having said that, if I were Catholic, I might be inclined to find some of the tenants of the building and boycott them or the building in general. I would also be inclined to let the tenants and corporations in the building I do not take it highly that they reside in a building that slights Mother Teresa, regardless of what religion she was. I may even make infruence to "I wonder what Mr. Malkin would do if Mother Teresa was a Muslim and it was a Muslim organization making such a request! Read the article here.

Yes, I am blogging from the patio tonight. I have just finished planting 4 rows of lima beans and planting some flowers in the corner of the garden. Tomorrow is to be nice with a high of 68 and with some luck I will get 4 more rows of green beans in. Once that is done some lettuce in the raised bed is on order. I have been scrounging around and have enough landscape timbers to build one more raised bed for a total of 6. Then I am going to transplant my asparagus into the new raised bed for better control. AND.....if I get real energetic and with a little luck mow the yard which got neglected this weekend.

I must back up here for a minute and strongly suggest you visit the Monsignors web site for an safety Public Service Announcement. I haven't heard of any of these turning up here in the Midwest but I am sure they will. Ain't the internet great. This is very important if you have small children that go outside to play.

Tomorrow is a very important day in the life of Eden Hope Leist, my grand daughter. She will be five years old. Now for those of us who have experienced this mile stone many years ago it may not be significant. However, I assure you, for Eden Hope, it is the biggest event since the the landing of Neil Armstrong on the moon. If you don't believe me you can ask her and she will tell you. Just as she has told me for the past 2 weeks. I am not sure what mom has planned but grandpa is taking her to lunch or diner to where ever she wants to go. It's much better than a present. I betting on Dairy Queen. I'll get back to you on this one.

How's the Hope and Change working out for you. So far they have cut 500M from Medicare so know we have rationed health care for Seasoned Citizens just under another name. Every major corporation is looking to pay the $750 fine per person instead of providing health insurance for their employees. They are in business to make a profit you know. I am willing to give up Saturday mail service. I know they just messed up and didn't get my invitation to Rush's wedding to me in time for me to go. Oh well, maybe next time. I know, not nice on my part but, he doesn't have a good marriage track record.

The good news is the wind is blowing from the east to the west and the hog farm about a mile away has yet to make is main product noticeable if you get me drift. Do they have no meaning anymore? I just came from Sunday evening service a few hours ago. The message in the sermon was the chipping away at the foundation of Christianity. We have now gotten to the point that lying is mis-spoken,* the meaning of the

word "is" is challenged, and now a US Representative has "misidentified" his military awards. OH PLEEESSE!

Friends, let me tell you if we don't start kicking out these liars, cheats, arrogant spoiled people regardless of party and, if we don''t start standing up and be counted and, take action by supporting candidates who will be for life for the unborn, lower taxes, smaller government, and "the right to bear arms" we have no one but ourselves to blame for what happens next. Get ready for 4 more years of not move to the left, but JUMP, JUMP, JUMP to the left.

John McCain has suddenly been calling for tighter border control. Hmmm. 'Bout time! Where was he in 2008!

barrack hussein obama has said he is sending 1200 National Guard to the US-Mexico border. Hmm. That border is 1969 miles long* Let's assume and we all know what that means half of the border is protected by other various sources, ie: Border Patrol, Local Sheriff's, State Police and the occasional vigilante. That leaves us with a balance of 984.5 miles of unprotected border. Hang with me young people this is not modern math here where if you are close you are all right. Let's take the number of National Guard working 40 per week 1200 times 40 equals 48,000 hours. Not bad, a pretty impressive number. A Plea for Solidarity, Strength & Freedom

Below is a copy of an email I have just sent to the Midwest Reality Management of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. It is in response to a news item on FOX NEWS. You can read the entire story here. Basically this couple, who's husband has seen duty in Kosovo and Iraq are being threatened with eviction if they do not remove an American Flag from there home.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to voice my concern that as a corporation you will take the freedom that a veteran has given you through putting their life in danger and you will take their money as rent. You seem to not accept the fact that this is AMERICA and the Flag of the United States of AMERICA is a symbol of that very freedom.

To say the least I am awestruck your company is threatening to evict Mr. and Mrs. Price if they do not remove the flag they have in their home. It is unconscionable on your part.

I would ask and I am certain I am not the only one, for you to immediately amend the bylaws of ALL your complexes to allow the flying of the AMERICAN flag and the freedom it represent.

Have We Lost Our Minds!

It's been a slow Sunday, a good one but none the less a slow one. It reached 82 degrees (SUMMER TIME!!!) here in the Midwest. I planted some flowers and trimmed some shrubs. I might be a little late on the shrubs but better late than never. Since it was so warm I decided to come into the house and sip on a soda pop. That led to flipping on the boob tube. That led to surfing and that led to The Huckabee Show.

Governor Huckabee took his act on the road this week and was being produced in the glitz city of Las Vegas, Nevada. It took me about 10 minutes to pick up on the theme of the show. Las Vegas had been chastised by barrack hussein obama during the early days of his anointment. The governor of Nevada was on and stated the remarks made by barrack hussein obama cost the state nearly 6 Billion dollars, that's Billion with a "B" in revenue. Over 400 meetings were canceled and hundreds of people were laid off.

Now comes barrack hussein obama again and he has chastised the great State of Arizona on their enactment of an immigration law because the Federal Government won't enforce federal laws on the book. Again barrack hussein obama's remarks have caused economic problems for the state of Arizona. It is my firm belief if he had kept his mouth shut, something he seems to find impossible to do, there would not have been the fall-out by several other political hacks. Even the mayor of Columbus, Ohio has said he will boycott Arizona. Of course the mayor of Columbus is a MORON, to start with and had no intentions of going to Arizona anyway.

Isn't this the same person that made the comments that a Cambridge Police officer acted "stupidly"? Isn't this the same person who's Attorney General hasn't read the Arizona law? Isn't this the same person who's head of Homeland Security hasn't read the Arizona law? Am I getting to see a patten of "stupid say, stupid do"?

For the past year or so I have been having a running discussion with a lady at work. She is black, in her 60's and openly campaigned for barrack hussein obama. She admits she voted for barrack hussein obama only because he was black and if elected would be the first black President. She has told me in her estimation at least 50% of the black people voted for him because he was black, not because he was the best selection for the country. When she told me last week I immediately became elated! Yahoo, I finally won, I got her to admit I was right! PTL!!!. Then.........reality set in. You mean to tell me 50% of the black population voted for a person because the color of this skin! My good G-d, where have we gone wrong? Where have we dropped the ball? Don't these people know it's not the color of a man's skin that makes him qualified for the most powerful man on planet Earth!

Has no one told them about how it took Black and White men to win the Revolutionary War, and the War of 1812? Do they not know about The Tuskegee Airmen?

The Tuskegee Airmen were dedicated, determined young men who enlisted to become America's first black military airmen, at a time when there were many people who thought that black men lacked intelligence, skill, courage and patriotism.*

They were all about this country and what was best for everyone who lived here. How did General Colin Powell reach the height of Joint Chief of Staff for President Bush and President Clinton? How did Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas secure a seat on the Supreme Court. What of Condoleeaza Rice? Does the black population of America think she received the position of Secretary of State only because she was attractive and black? It wasn't because the color of their skin. They put in years of education and hard work for the positions they were elevated to. How has this happened in the greatest country on Earth?

It is my personal opinion this goes all the way back to one person. One woman so intent on her beliefs and so tenacious that nothing would stop her. Her one battle and her one win started this country down the road to anti religion, anti Christianity, anti common sense and anti thinking and using your own God given brain. This woman was Madalyn Murray O'Hair. You can say what you want but when this woman got prayer taken out of schools the moral fiber and work ethics started to go down hill. Children no longer prayed, then they no longer said the Pledge, then the National Anthem went and graduation baccalaureate. The schools have taken the easy way out and now refuse to fight any type of far out, left wing, nutcase that threatens them with a lawsuit.

What a sad, sad state of affairs we have gotten ourselves into. I will close with one thought. barrack hussein obama can criticized whom and who ever he wants. He can cause economic problems with the wag of his tongue. So be it.

A QUIET NIGHT IN THE MIDWEST

It's a quiet night here in the Midwest, at least my part of the Midwest. The temperature is about 72 and its about 2100 hours. That 9:00PM for those of you in Loma Linda. I'm sitting on the patio! Even though it's that late with my Citronella candle Gretchen made I can fight off the mosquitoes and type by laptop light. I have about 95 percent cloud cover but the moon just shined/shone (?) through a break in the clouds. I never quite understood that whole moon, sun, axis, rotation, revolving thing. Then it's not up to me to figure it out. It's up to me to just accept what God has created.

Out here in the hinter lands, as I like to call it you can actually see the stars at night. You can see the field mouse that just ran across the patio to get to the rabbit hutch so he could chow down on some spilled rabbit food. Those boys are so sloppy. Stormin' Norman and Dirty Joe I mean. I guess they can afford to give a little to the field mice population as they both are fat and need to get some exercise, like me.
There is a main highway a mile from here and I can hear the cars going up and down the road. Where they are going I don't care. To me it doesn't really matter. So long as they get there safely. That's what country living is all about. Peace and quiet, field mice, gardens, and good neighbors. I have one.

We've had a little rain in this neck of the woods lately and I am a little behind in my gardening. In fact I have the raise beds planted but the regular garden wasn't tilled until Thursday night. My neighbor, I'll call him Cliff, 'cause that's his name saw me working in the raise beds. He and Kody, the 140 lb Lab strolled over and in the course of conversation asked if he could till my garden for me. I begged off a little and he said go mark it off. I marked off the space I was going to till later this week and by the time I did that Cliff was back with his big tractor. About 15 minutes, 6 or 8 trips up and back and the garden was tilled. No charge. Now that's what I call right neighborly. I will go down to the barn and get his diesel gas can and fill it up for him next week but what a small price to pay.

OUCH, mosquito got me! Gonna have to talk with Gretchen about a little more Citonella in those candles when I see her the next time.

Now as I was saying. What a small price to pay. This is the way it was when I was a kid and this is the way it still should be. I know I am not the only one with a good neighbor but I have to think. Have I been a good neighbor? Have I gone the extra mile for someone lately? Am I doing what I was put on this Earth for? I tell you folks I think I have. Having said that I wonder. Yes, I know I am preaching and it's not even Sunday. It is however, the Sabbath for a lot of folks. Now I am really wondering. Could this be my Grandma Smyers or Great Grandma Stienbrook giving me a little Hebrew guidance lesson tonight. Now I am really wondering.

Wow, a big break in the clouds and it appears we have a slightly over a half of a moon tonight and a lot of stars. Now that in its self is not exciting however, I love that word. It means I can go on and on and on, and I believe I will. Quick story about my son, Jacob.

Now you may not believe this but Jacob was not always a good child. There was a time in his life and mine when I wonder if the phone call would be him needing a doctor or an attorney. He/we did have our moments as he was maturing. Well to the meat of this story. We were sitting out here on this very same patio one night just like tonight. We were solving all the world's problems and a few of our own. It was a good evening for me and I believe for him. We just sat here looking at the moon and stars and he ask me, "Pops, you know what I always wondered about?" l replied, with a somewhat anxious answer, "No, what?" "What do you think is on the other side of the farthest star out there? Not the farthest one we can see but the farthest one, the very last one." Needless to say I didn't have an answer. We talked some more and then went into the house. I have thought about it from time to time and come to this conclusion. What's on the other side of the farthest star out there is not really important to me. What was/is important is and I do believe that was the night Jacob came to the conclusion God is real and we just have to accept certain things as part of the plan. It wasn't shortly after that evening he enlisted in the ARMY. I believe I now know why.

It's been a good week for me as my granddaughter, Tauri Rebecca turned 6 and her daddy, Aaron, the elder, turned 39. It's hard to believe he has had that many birthdays. He must be getting old! Tauri is one of grandpa's girls. I have two others not counting Sarah, my daughter. Lacy and Eden are 3 and 5. None of them, I might add are spoiled. Heh Heh.

Memorial Day is next weekend so how about a Thank you this week to every veteran and military person you see.

I awoke this morning with a bounce in my step and a smile on my face. Then......... I turned on the news.

Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal misspoke* about his Vietnam service. I cannot print the epitaphs that spewed from my mouth. I am truly embarrassed at my language. Having said that and ask for forgiveness as far as I am concerned this man should immediately be sanction by the Democrat Party and forced to withdraw as a candidate. He should immediately resign the position of Attorney General of Connecticut as that position above all is a position where truth and honesty are foremost!

To desecrate the honor and memories of the brave men and women who fought and died in Vietnam is unconscionable and vile. To excuse this shameless effort of trying to align himself with our honored military warriors this man has shown he has no morals or character. He has tarnish what ever reputation he may have had in the Marine Corp Reserves. Like John Murtha should have been and unfortunately was not, he should be striped of his rank, any benefits and be discharged dishonorably. Never again be allowed to use his name or that of the Honored Marine Corp in the same sentence. Like the old Pharaoh in The Ten Commandments when Moses was sent into the desert, his name should be stricken from all rolls and never mentioned again! He is a slug and lower than fish feces, IMHO.

Connecticut wake up!!!

WASHINGTON — Social Security faces a $5.3 trillion shortfall.........over the next 75 years.
Well gee whiz how could that happen? Congress has been spending money that wasn't there for years. They have added more bells and bangles to Social Security since it's inception than Jimmy Carter has peanuts! But that OK. The Social Security trust funds have built a $2.5 trillion surplus over the past 25 years. But the federal government has borrowed that money over the years to spend on other programs. The government must now start borrowing money from public debt markets — adding to annual budget deficits — to repay Social Security. Can you say Obama Care.

According to Sen. Herb Kohl, chairman of the committee, said small "tweaks" are all that is needed to bolster Social Security's finances for future generations of retirees. These simple minded morons have been tweaking it for years, just to get more votes. What are those tweaks Senator Kohl is talking about?
How about:
Reduced annual cost-of-living increases 1 percentage point each year. Social Security recipients get annual increases based on inflation.(Little hint, no inflation, no increase, year 2010 no inflation, no increase)
Taxing all wages, not just those below $106,800, (Little hint #2 TAX INCREASE!)
Gradually increased the age when retirees qualify for full benefits from 67 to 68 (Morbid but, more of us will die and less will have to be paid out)

I have a novel idea. Why not quit spending money you don't have. Why not go back to the original idea of Social Security and CUT OUT THE HORSE MANURE!

Yes, I took the easy way out this week. Not actually. In our conversations my good friend Spitfire told me about this bill and that she was doing some research on it. It is very important and thanks to Spitfire we now have some good information for discussion and debate.

So as they say without further adieu here is her post and a very interesting one I might add.

Hi Folks. Pops asked me to prepare a guest post for him. I contemplated one about the immigration issue, but haven't had time to research it well. Then I thought about something on Ms Kagen...Mr. Obama's choice for Supreme Court Justice. But again didn't have time to research it well, and frankly didn't want to get all upset. So I chose to write about something that was emailed to me about a week ago. It deals with a Senate bill (S510) that is supposed to forbid the home gardens so many of us have.

When I first was notified about this bill, I have to admit to having a gut reaction that was not particularly pretty. I believe my response was something to the affect of "First time they come to tell me I can't grow my garden is the first time I aim my pistol at someone's face!!!!! They don't have the right to tell me I can't grow fresh fruits and veggies!!!!" Let me also admit to being a bit embarrassed about being so violent in my response. I'm not normally violent...but this was hitting below the belt as far as I was concerned. Nowhere in the Constitution does it give Government the right to micro-manage my life!

After a few minutes of stewing and getting angrier by the minute, I started googling S510. I searched Govtracker.us and even went to the Library of Congress site (Thomas) to research this monstrous bill. How in the world could those folks in DC decide they had the time, manpower and chutzpah to decide what I can do in the privacy of my yard!?!?!?!?!?

Well, it turns out they made no such decision. The Senate bill S510 deals more with those who import or export food or prepare food for commercial purposes. No where that I could find does this bill say anything about not being able to grow my own fresh fruits and veggies and giving them to family, friends or even selling them at the farmer's market if I so desire. It does say the Secretary of Health and Human Services has the authority to 'regulate food, including by authorizing the Secretary to suspend the registration of a food facility.' But no where can I find anything that says this secretary can outlaw home gardens. In fact, I couldn't find home gardens even mentioned at all!!!!

So I reckon the main idea of this post is that we need to be careful what we get all excited about. We all have the ability to research for ourselves. As times get more and more chaotic and we proceed further and further into what many believe to be the 'end times', it becomes more important that we use our abilities to discern what is truth and what isn't. And if we practice discerning in things that have no eternal value, then when it comes time to discern things of eternal value, we'll be really good at it. Because in the grand scheme of things, we know that if we love YHWH, He'll provide for us. We don't have to worry about it. His word tells us that "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies." So before we invest time, energy and work ourselves into a frenzy over nothing, let's remember to search for the truth of a matter. We'll be seeing more and more falsehoods and outright lies circulating. Rest in His peace, knowing YHWH loves you and wants the best for you. Shalom, Spitfire

Apparently she has a long standing roomy who is not a guy. I am light years ahead of CNN and MessNBC. They will be reporting this, won't they?

· Prohibits law enforcement officials and law enforcement agencies of this state or counties, municipalities and political subdivisions from restricting or limiting the enforcement of the federal immigration laws to less than the full extent permitted by federal law.

· Requires officials and agencies to reasonably attempt to determine the immigration status of a person involved in a lawful contact where reasonable suspicion exists regarding the immigration status of the person, except if the determination may hinder or obstruct an investigation.

· Stipulates that if the person is arrested, the person’s immigration status must be determined before the person is released and must be verified with the federal government.

· Stipulates that a law enforcement official or agency cannot solely consider race, color or national origin when implementing these provisions, except as permitted by the U.S. or Arizona Constitution.

· Specifies that a person is presumed to be lawfully present if the person provides any of the following:

Ø A valid Arizona driver license.

Ø A valid Arizona nonoperating identification license.

Glenn Beck had an interesting show on TV today. It basically revolved around the administration and Goldman Sachs. He had a couple of good points. Why if Goldman Sachs is such a horrible company is barrack hussein obama's administration so full of the firms current or ex-employees? It really doesn't make much sense. If I can't trust you to run your business on the up and up, why would I trust you to run the government's business on the up and up? He and Bill O'Reilly are coming to Columbus in June. I might like to go see them on stage. I don't agree with every thing either one of them say but I do agree with them on some things. I could make it a night out on the town. Anybody want to go with me?

Crazy Things That Bug Me

1. Heard on the Glenn Beck Show this morning. A lady from Canada called saying she felt like a neighbor watching her neighbors house burn down. Canada has been socialistic for so long and she could always look to The United States as a good example. She continued with this administration it was like watching the fire department pour gasoline on the burning house instead of water.

2. On the way home say 5 State of Ohio workers with 3 trucks working on the highway. What were they doing? Two guys were directing the one way traffic. One guy was pulling up the little reflectors in the road. A second guy was going behind the first cleaning up the hole the reflectors had just been removed from. Do you want to guess what the final guy was doing? If you said putting down new reflectors you were right. Having said that I drive that stretch of highway 4 to 5 times a week. There was nothing wrong with the old reflectors. I guess the state of Ohio has been taking cues from the Federal government. Spend more, tax more and do absolutely worthless projects. Is that what barrack hussein obama meant by shovel ready?

Speaking of barrack hussein obama why is it he never announces the killing of an HVT (high value target)?

Speaking of the liberal left. Why is it you never hear them use the words, duty, honor, morals, respect, and hard work? Just wondering.

Just a personal note. For any of the cooks in my circle. Would you please tell me how I can keep my fish fillets from falling apart when I grill them. I like fish and my daughter buys me fillets from the Schwans guy. I like fish and like to grill but for the love of me I can't seem to keep them from falling apart. All help is appreciated.

This may get updated as the day wears on but I just had to get it down on paper......er........ah......electrons or my seasoned citizen mind might have forgot it. Which reminds me. I just stopped by the garden center and picked up a real nice shrub for a spot in my landscape (fancy word for yard). The young girl told me I got 20% of today. I asked, senior discount? No, she replied weekly discount Senior discount is on Tuesday. Hmmm, I say, I'll have to remember that. Would you like for me to write it down on your receipt? I replied no, I think I can remember it until Tuesday but you never know. I then grabbed the back of my shirt collar and with a straight face ask the girl, is my address still readable in case I get lost going home? She got this strange look on her face and just ah....ah.....ah......silence. Oh that's ok I responded, I'll ask my wife if I get home. I just walked away and she had the strangest look on her face. I don't understand why?

Speaking of forgetful, my partner from Jobs and Family Service sent me this text message this morning.

" I just downloaded iTag. It is FREE and helps me locate my lost phone ........you simply must download it. Now this is a guy I really had respect for........until he sent me this. Am I missing something here?

My fellow blogger the Most Reverend Gregory over at Let the Truth Be Known is a member of an organization called the Oath Keepers. Clik here to visit the site. In the past couple of days I have heard this organization mentioned in the news. I wondered what that was all about. Oath Keepers sounds fairly safe. Keepers of an oath. Stand for something was my thought and I must add a pleasant one. The Left must be concerned about them or they wouldn't have made it to their radar screen.

Nowadays anybody that stands for any cause will get a little support from me. Why? Because, every time you turn around the politicians are flip flopping, changes their minds and as for barrack hussein obama not even answering a question in 17 minutes. Which way is the wind blowing not today, but NOW!

I watched a little of the Glenn Beck show on the boob tube this evening before a pressing matter of sorting my socks took me out of the room. However, in that brief few minutes he showed clips of President Bill Clinton back tracking on a speech he had recently given. Damn Bill you stood up to Monica, why won't you stand up for a cause. Any cause!

The same goes for the Republicans. Here in Ohio we had a moron called Mike Dewine (should be DeWhine)as one of our two whining RINO representatives in the US Senate. They didn't represent the citizens of Ohio. Dewine was exactly what I said a RINO and now after getting booted out of the US Senate the Ohio Republican Party is backing him for Attorney General. Think this squirrel is going to go after the health care bill if he is voted in. Hell no! Sorry, no insult meant to the squirrels of Ohio. Speaking of that after leaving church yesterday I say a Red Fox running in the field beside our church. Since it was nearly noon I found this amazing. You usually don't see them during the day time. Fast and graceful little killers you know. Very cunning a sly like a .......well......a fox!

I don't really care ........well yes I do or else I wouldn't be typing this posting. I could throw in a dig on the Pope for not tossing out any and every Priest that there is an inkling of abuse about but, I won't. I guess what I am trying to say is, Right or Wrong. Damn,

Well, that was interesting. My little poll drew 11 comments from about 25 people solicited for comments. When you only have 14 followers I guess that ain't bad. Now that IS interesting! I just used the word "ain't" which I was told in grammar school wasn't a word and it passed the spell checker. I guess "ain't" the incorrect word of my day, ain't an incorrect word any more. No wonder this country seems to be going to hell in a hand basket. Oh yes, did you know "gay" no longer means happy and fun? Nope, now it is a way for homosexuals to pass themselves off as... ah, "normal people" Oh well enough of my pet peeves. Oh ya, Spanish ain't spoken here 'cause it ain't the native language. Neither is English. I believe the native tongue of America is something like, Choctaw, Crow, Shawnee, Mingo (in my neck of the words), Blackfoot, or perhaps Sioux. 'Course that is just my humble opinion and only precious to me.
