My Rule for Life

I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is.

"On every question of construction carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Johnson, 1823.  Borrowed from the  Patriot Post.US.

What do you do when you can't run an auto company?  Go to the taxpayers through the Federal Government and beg!  What do you do when you get the money and still can't make money.  LIE, Tell everybody you paid the money back, even if you used the money you borrowed.  Newmax.com, for the full story.Clik here.

Matthew 24:4,5
   4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
   5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
 (Just a little food for thought from someone who should know about what lies in the future.)

Glenn Beck had an interesting show on TV today.  It basically revolved around the administration and Goldman Sachs.  He had a couple of good points.  Why if Goldman Sachs is such a horrible company is barrack hussein obama's administration so full of the firms current or ex-employees?  It really doesn't make much sense.  If I can't trust you to run your business on the up and up, why would I trust you to run the government's business on the up and up?  He and Bill O'Reilly are coming to Columbus in June.  I might like to go see them on stage.  I don't agree with every thing either one of them say but I do agree with them on some things.  I could make it a night out on the town.  Anybody want to go with me?

I think that's about all for tonight.  It's about time for "The First 48"  it's a cop show for those who don't know.  Not for everybody that is for sure.

Thanks for stopping by, leave a comment or a question and we will try to get a discussion going.

Wish I could join you for the Beck/O'Reilly thing, but unfortunately, this June is going to busy for me, I have a couple of graduations to attend and a clergy conference in SC.

Let me know how it goes.

Out of curiousity, when referring to the President, why do most conservatives remove the word "President" and use his middle name, "Hussein"?

Hi Steve,

I don't speak for any Conservative but me. I no longer refer to barrack hussein obama as the President of the United States as I personally do not want to defile the office of this great nation.

Actually I don't believe you really have much of a complaint here as I have heard many democrats refer to him as Mr. Obama. Chris Matthews of MSNBC just happens to be one I remember. You see I believe in keeping your enemies close and your friends closer!

For my personal reason please refer to my post of April 19,2010 the first two paragraphs should do the trick.

Hey thanks for coming back. While your here visit another liberal I discuss issues with at http://jeff-for-progress.blogspot.com/ He's a pretty nice guy and just getting started in this blogging business I think.

MRG,

I wish you could join me also. Fortunately, at this time, my grandchildren are all in primary school or below! I am looking for someone else to go with me BUT....if I just may go home. Boy it's hard typing when you're listening to Benny Goodman playing 7 Come 11! be be bop bop be dum dum be bop be bop....

Pops, I'd LOVE to go with you...unfortunately, the commute would be a killer!!!! Somehow I don't think I'd be able to drive up that morning and make it home in time to tuck Little Critter into bed. Sigh. I don't always agree with either Beck or O'Reilly either. But it sure would be fun to say I saw them live.......perhaps another time. But you enjoy if for me and let me know how it was.

As for Steve, to get respect, you have to give respect. I've not seen Mr. Obama show respect for the people of this country. Hence, I call him Mr. Obama....and that mostly because I have a young son I'm trying to teach manners to. Mr. O doesn't represent any of my values, beliefs or anything I can respect. Hope that answers your question.

Be Blessed Pops! Shalom Aleichem!

@Pops-
Thanks for the clarity. Also, I do not associate myself with either party. I think that the 2 main parties do not represent me or my beliefs.

@Spitfire
I understand your viewpoint. However, if we are talking about respect, could you please tell me where I can find instances where President George W Bush, President William J Clinton, and President George HW Bush showed respect within their first year of office?

I believe no party in particular respects my wallet or health care, etc.

Gee Whiz, I guess I will just have to find another Conservative to go with me to the Glenn Beck/O'Reilly gig. Unless of course Steve wants to go. I know Spitfire and MRG with be there in spirit.

Steve,Why is it liberals nearly always digress/regress of something like that. My daddy use to tell me, "boy, two wrongs don't make a right!" So why beat the dead horse of either President Bush or President Clinton. The fact remains, barrack hussein obama promised to: close Gitmo, not raise taxes on those making under $250K, open Congress for debate, not hire lobbyists, and on and on and on. Let's look forward not backward. His track record is very poor for the first 14 months. In the stock market that would be considered a bear market. Now can he produce a bull market. Not with the current numbers he has or with the staff he continues to hire and policies he continues to embrace. IMHO,of course.

Pops,
I see your point of view when it comes to digging up the past. I find that most people in general do not want to dig up the past because all they get is dirty- and IMHO, it usually works against them.

First, President Obama has not raised taxes for those making under $250K; unless you speak of sales tax, which is not something he has much control over.

As for Gitmo, I believe that it is more complex than just closing it down. The worst of the worst are there and when offered other possibilities on transfer to super max facilities, states that were offered to house the prisoners of Gitmo denied the transfer and the public was up in arms.

What needs to be understood is that the prisoners currently in Gitmo are not super heroes. They will no slide out of prison, bend bars or ask Tony Stark for the Ironman defense. Once people decipher between reality and fiction, the President will be able to move forward.

The problem- no one will work together to get something done, whether it's a wonderful idea or not.

Steve,
I would be careful agreeing with a Conservative. It may be contagious! President Bush made the statement, "no new taxes" he then went back on his word. I voted for Ross Perot. Perhaps a businessman would be better for the country than the mostly lawyers we have been getting lately. Have you ever thought about what lawyers do for a living. TALK, TALK, TALK.The more they talk the more they $'s make.

Don't take that as I support Rommney because I don't.

Regarding Git-mo with all due respect to you, he shouldn't have shot of his mouth IF he didn't know what he was talking about. Regarding taxes, temporaily I will give that to you. Does VAT mean anything. Now even the CBO is saying obamacare is going to cost more than we've been told and Kathy S. knew that but, withheld the information until after the vote. Granted that is not a tax. There is even a report out this day saying some people in the marginal areas of income will not be able to afford their companies health care package. AND FINALLY (I could go on and on and on) the past Chairman of the Fed said yesterday, Medicare is unstainable in the next 5 years and "RATIONING" is the only answer. Haven't I heard that before!

Thanks for coming back. We like good honest discussion and you seem like a nice level headed guy who is willing to discuss not bash.
Shalom,
Pops

Why is Obama referred to as Obama and not President Obama? Why is President Bush referred to as Bush??

I like to call him B.O. .... a TON of folks I know called Pres Bush the younger "W"....

I'm missing your point.

MM,

I think you are referring to Steve's question about the Hussein thing. He is saying we always bring up his Muslim name. I believe he is trying to say Conservative's are trying to label barrack hussein obama as a Muslim terrorist. I can't speak for others only myself. I call him barrack hussein obama because as I said in a post IMHO he no longer deserves MY, nor has he EARNED MY, respect. I think that's it.

@MM,
Whether I have disliked or liked a past president, I refer to him as President such-and-such. I've noticed on this blog that first, middle and surname are referenced. From previous posts and news polls, people still believe that President Obama is muslim, yadda yadda. If anything, I would be implying that some conservative groups are trying to not let that die in order to use it as leverage in the next presidential election . Just curious is all.

@Pops,
There are many valid points from the Conservatives that I agree on and from your comment, you can see that. I would not call myself a lib as I consider myself more a part of the "Ron Paul Revolution"
:)

Steve,

Thanks for stopping back. I can only say as I have before I have lost all respect for the current President. I didn't like Past President Carter but I still refereed to him with his official title. I did likewise for Past President Clinton. I am sure we have some common ground.

On the RPR. in my circles, family we call that someone who is playing both sides of the street. Not that it's bad, sometimes you just gotta stand by an issue, as I am sure you do.

Have a great weekend and remember your mom, grandmom, wife, or whomever.

@Pops,
Like Dennis Kucinich, I find Ron Paul holding the characteristics of the party formerly known as the GOP. I believe that he still holds the values as Kucinich does for his party respectfully.

Here's some positive thoughts your way from Mother's Day this past Sunday.

Anonymous,

Ron Paul, Dennis Kuchinich, like the GOP. You should be ashamed of yourself mentioning them in the same sentence! I know you have an idea there but my computer and brain are running a little slow. Perhaps you could go a little deeper in depth.

Pops,
Thanks for stopping by.

Lutheran Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Destruction of the embryo in the mother's womb is a violation of the right to live which God has bestowed upon this nascent life. To raise the question whether we are here concerned already with a human being or not is merely to confuse the issue. The simple fact is that God certainly intended to create a human being and that this nascent human being has been deliberately deprived of his life. And that is nothing but murder.
