My Rule for Life

I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!

We must take a stand! We must take a stand, NOW!

According to Gallup polls, 85 percent of Americans report being satisfied with the quality of care they receive—despite the fact that patients get, on average, just 55 percent of the care that experts recommend for most major medical conditions. www.healthbeatblog.com/2008/07/

"Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling health care?"

  • Approve: 44
  • Disapprove: 34

"Which of the following three statements comes closest to expressing your overall view of the health care system in the United States? (1) On the whole, the health care system works pretty well and only minor changes are necessary to make it work better. OR, (2) There are some good things in our health care system, but fundamental changes are needed. OR, (3) Our health care system has so much wrong with it that we need to completely rebuild it."

  • Minor changes: 13
  • Fundamental changes: 51
  • Completely rebuild: 34

What this tells me is less than half the people think or feel we need change or radical change.

Governors worried by healthcare bill costs

Say states could get new Medicaid burden

Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico said, “I’m personally very concerned about the cost issue, particularly the $1 trillion figures being batted around.’’ Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico said,

“I’m personally very concerned about the cost issue, particularly the $1 trillion figures being batted around.’’ (Rogelio V. Solis/Associated Press)

Now we all remember Mr. Richardson, wasn't he one of President Obama's picks for a cabinet post, before the American public found out about him being investigated by the FBI?

Two points here:

A. What ever happened to the investigation?

B. Isn't is strange that Governor Richardson, a liberal DEMOCRAT, questions President Obama's health care plan?

Although many governors said significant change was needed, they said their deep-seated fiscal troubles made it a terrible time to shift costs to the states. With the recession draining states of tax revenues even as their Medicaid rolls are surging, the National Governors Association projects that states will face aggregate deficits of $200 billion over the next three years.

Governor Phil Bredesen, a Tennessee Democrat, said he feared Congress was about to bestow “the mother of all unfunded mandates.’’

“Medicaid is a poor vehicle for expanding coverage,’’ said Bredesen, a former healthcare executive. “It’s a 45-year-old system originally designed for poor women and their children. It’s not healthcare reform to dump more money into Medicaid.’’

He was far from alone. “As a governor, my concern is that if we try to cost-shift to the states, we’re not going to be in a position to pick up the tab,’’ said Governor Christine Gregoire of Washington, a Democrat. www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2009/07/20/governors_balk_over_what_healthcare_bill_will_cost_states/?page=1

The charts below are pilfered from Real Clear Politics. For the complete article clik here. I had some really neat charts but blogger wouldn't take them so I had to delete them. I believe you can make out the numbers

"Are you very satisfied with the quality of your care, somewhat satisfied, somewhat dissatisfied or very dissatisfied?"

"Are you very satisfied with your health insurance coverage, somewhat satisfied, somewhat dissatisfied or very dissatisfied?"

My point to all this is when even Democratic Governors are questioning the President's Health Care Plan, the plan includes coverage for illegal immigrants, expands abortion coverage, and if my math serves me right, according to these and other polls over 80% of the American public is satisfied with what nobody can argue is the best medical care in the world.

Where the He-- does this guy, President Obama, and sidekick, Nancy Pelosi, get the idea we want health care changed RIGHT NOW. We can't afford what these morons have rammed through Congress in the first six months. Our grandchildren will be paying off this debt. If, this country is still around

Call your Senator and Congressman NOW and tell them to enough is enough and you WILL remember it on Election Day.

In the end, I highly doubt that any of our elected Officials will listen to us. Obumblef^%k's Health Care will eventually get passed one way or another, and we will sit back and do nothing.

By the way, Richardson's investigation went bye bye, just like Sandy Burger's, you remember the dude who was caught with documents hidden in his pants that he smuggled out of the National Archives.

2012 can't come soon enough for us all. In the meantime we should all start waiting for the reeducation camps to open up.

I'm only half joking about that last. Man this guy scare me!

Where do you get the basis for the statement that we have the "best medical care in the world"? Every study I've read states that we pay more for health care but on the average Americans are less healthy than people in most industrialized countries.

A question on "how satisfied are you with your health care" is vague. Does this mean that people were asked how satisfied were they with the quality of care? I'm satisfied with the quality of health care I receive because I seek out the best doctors. I'm NOT satisfied with the fact that I pay around $7,000 a year for my health care. If 90 percent of people think they get good health care, but 10 percent of people die unnecessarily because they get bad health care, would that be a good statistic for the richest country in the world? What do we expect for our country? I believe we could do much, much better.

btw, Gary, I was curious as to whether or not you have health insurance, if so, with which company, and how much do you pay for it?

To Elizabeth's 1st comment:

Would you be so kind, as to cite your own, researched studies, those that say that Americans "pay more for health care but on the average Americans are less healthy than people in most industrialized countries"?

One or maybe two....

Thanks so much, for your enlightenment~!

Elizabeth,

Well that must be nice. Mal can't even get out of Oklahoma (less it's on business) and the only way I get out of Ohio is to visit my son. I one that is in the ARMY protecting all these rights the Liberals want to take away. Regarding your insurance I presume it is employment related and paid for by your company. The premiums may seem high then again it depends on the coverage, age, health conditions etc, etc, etc.

REGARDING your question:

btw, Gary, I was curious as to whether or not you have health insurance, if so, with which company, and how much do you pay for it

Yes, I do have health insurance and have carried it in one form or another all my adult life. I recognize that within the scope of my occupation I may have a catastrophic accident or illness. To the best of my knowledge my cost has been from free for me and approx.$100 for my family on the low end. On the high end $754 for me and my wife monthly. Having said that do I wish it was less, of course. Was I satisfied, most certainly when the bills of thousands of dollars came rolling in.

I was able to get the necessary emergency surgery I needed, immediately and when my wife was diagnosed with Cancer she received all the treatments and tests recommended by her Doctor in the time frame the Doctor recommended. Unlike Obama's socialized health care plan. The one that wants "end of life counslers" to visit the elderly in the hospital room.

If you are looking for a good health company might I suggest a company called Golden Rule. They have tight underwriting rules, customizable policies and premiums that are very Conservative.

Enjoy Germany, I did when I was there. Have a safe trip and return.

thanks, I had fun in Germany. I don't have health insurance through my employer because I do not have an employer. I am self employed and therefore must buy my own insurance plan. The plans available to me are very limited. I have a plan for $470 that covers hospitalization, surgery, and lab and diagnostic tests but doesn't cover office visits. It's ok as long as I don't need to go to the doctor very often. Unfortunately if I need to see a specialist this can cost me hundreds of dollars since it isn't covered by my iinsurance plan.

Lutheran Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Destruction of the embryo in the mother's womb is a violation of the right to live which God has bestowed upon this nascent life. To raise the question whether we are here concerned already with a human being or not is merely to confuse the issue. The simple fact is that God certainly intended to create a human being and that this nascent human being has been deliberately deprived of his life. And that is nothing but murder.
